- Castle has been my favorite theme for a while now and after buying what i thought to be the final set im missing (for a lot more than i should of) I thought it would be fun to take a look at the whole lineup.
If only Lego would properly bring back a space or a castle theme for a year or something ahahah
I guess the Bricklink Castle in the forest is heavily inspired by 6077
Thanks for showing a picture of my copy of Smuggler's Hayride!
?
It is kind of interesting to think of Lego’s recent business practice of putting sets people really want behind gifts with purchases.. Like the Forest man and Blacktron remakes, along with the upcoming wizard remake set, along with like the Harry Potter Grand Stair Case. Gifts with purchase used to be a cool way to get one off ideas and stuff which is fine. But recently plenty of sets that could probably have been decent sellers that have a large audience have been given this treatment. It would be fine I thin if they had a road map of when they came out in a year, so you could plan on when you make big purchases. Actually why am I making concessions, its just Scummy. If I remember correctly RUclipsr Slugger did a good video on this topic. Anyway RIP Forest Man remake set.
I'm really frustrated like i imagine a lot of old lego fans are with this whole gift with purchase stuff, luckily they usually have a recent set that i would love to own like the newest lion heart castle and the Optimus prime but god damn do i hate having a time limit and it sucks that im playing into that whole business model 😡
I loved those flat sheet pieces that you could build stuff on top off. Its a shame they dont make them as often. Having a blue one just to them something as being on top of water was great. a boot it a castle surrounded by a moot. but in general they were good as a base.
though tbf, remember then kinda being fragile.
I actually have the new Forestman’s hideout because I qualified for it while getting my other sets I liked last summer. While I wouldn’t have gotten it individually, it’s a nice set to have & brings a nice pop of green to the shelf it’s on which is primarily dominated by grey & translucent pink. I also got the series 22 Forest Elf which goes really well with that set.
Great video man keep it up :)
I've got old Forest Men and Black Falcon minifigures.
I am loving your videos! I really like your figure going around showing us everything. Nice work :D
Thanks
Bumped into your channel today. Watched all your vids. Had a great time! Like your style and humor 😃😂
In the forestmens river fortress
that isnt a dungeon its a hotel room
Great vid Robrick, nice old Lego sets have such character about them.
I got Riverman's Crossing for Christmas when I was 5 years old, amazing set. If only I had kept all my childhood Lego and not tossed the boxes into the fireplace
I am supremely loyal to the Forestmen faction 🫡
I got the remake of the hideout for 25 quid in august, best deal I've ever made.
I like that your wife is the queen
Love it!
Some castles were painted yellow with ochre originally.
As I kid, I liked Dark Forest more than the classic Forestmen, but after getting my first Forestmen set as a teen, I found out why these sets are so well loved. From the colors, designs, Minifigures, these sets check every box.
My first Forestmen set was 6071. I "accidentally" acquired it from a collection of older Castle sets I gotten. Almost all of the sets had their instructions, except 6071. I was able to figure out it was the set from the Forestwoman Minifigure (the fantastic baseplate was missing). It was the only Forestmen set I had until as an adult I started collecting the other sets.
6071 is just too damn good, one of my favorite sets to just admire!
6071 looks awesome, I love the baseplate and the minifigures
Your wife isn't the only one. When I first got that Forestman cart as a kid, I wondered if the guy placed under the cart was supposed to be a fallen soldier being carried to his final resting place. I guess I was too young to know much about human smuggling.
I have the hideout and river fortress, got them as a child in 90s and still have all the parts. I always wanted the river crossing too but I have never seen it for a price I can afford... The fortress is empty inside but easy for anyone to add a bit of detail and second floor. Excellent video.
This is like the best & most intriguing Lego Channel I have ever seen.
This was fun, thank you!
Love the video, especially how your minifigure jumped around with us. But dust your sets before you film them!
i'll have to whip out the fluffy duster for the next vid :'), im glad you enjoyed this one
