It's so difficult to find a doctor in Montreal who does Subcision with TCA cross. This treatment seems to be effective for indented scars, but most dermatogists recommend laser and rf needling which does little or no improvement. We need doctors like you who will give us the right treatment and not just eat money from our pocket.

You can simply perform Subscision with PRP and ablative laser like Co2. No need for TCA or any Chemical peel

I'm glad she has gotten such great results. However, I wish you mentioned what other treatments she would need in the future to get her skin as acne-scar-free as possible. Would it just be more rounds of TCA, subcision, and laser? Also, how many months/ years after her last treatment was her 'after' photo? If it was only a month after, for instance, around what percentage of improvement would she get later on (e.g. 6 months), when the collagen-inducing benefits of all those treatments kick in?

I’m not a Dr. but I have lots of knowledgeable in this area-
What you’re describing is called PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation).
This often occurs with Ethnic or more olive skin tones and will eventually go away. But could take up to 6 Months-
If you don’t want to wait that long, I recommend using a tyrosinase inhibitor/ bleaching agent such as 4% Hydroquinone. Which should have been applied to your skin (2x/day) in the Month leading up to your TCA Cross. As well as AFTER your TCA Cross.
This is widely used by Drs/Aestheticians because it greatly reduces, if not completely prevents the onset of PIH.
The only problem is, it can be difficult to obtain. So if that’s the case for you, I recommend using Alpha Arbutin-
This is also a bleaching agent and will also fade your marks/inhibit further melanin production. The only difference is, it’s plant derived (extracted from the Bearberry). So it’s easier to get. As it can be purchased over the counter. For this, I recommend using a product called “Fade Bright”.
You can purchase this online from a company called “Platinum Skincare”-
This is a very reputable company with top notch products and Customer Service.
I suffer with a condition called Melasma which is a pigment disorder and their Fade Bright has helped me tremendously.
I also buy all my chemical peels through them. Pretty sure I just received an email with a promo code for 20% off and I’d be happy to post it here if you’re interested in trying it. Best of luck; I hope this helps and PLEASE be VERY CAREFUL!!!
This stuff is so strong and honestly, I’m all for DIY skincare. In fact, I do all my own chemical peels, microdermabrasions, dermaplaning, collecting/spinning my own blood for PRP and micro needling. (Which has taken me years to research and “perfect”). These things have all done wonders for my skin. All EXCEPT the TCA Cross I performed on myself. Which I did twice....once with 80% and 100%.
Again, I researched this for at LEAST a year prior to attempting it AND I was EXTREMELY careful/meticulous with my application technique. But somehow, I still managed to damage my face further. So now I’ve got to pay a Professional to fix it.
In short, I learned that there’s a craft/technique to the application process and if you don’t get it right, you can cause a significant amount of damage.
As TCA is not only extremely dangerous. But it’s known for causing your scars to widen (if not applied properly). It can also cause your scare to deepen if not
using the correct topicals post treatment.
So from one DIY’er to another, I STRONGLY suggest not using anything above 50%.
50% will absolutely work...it just might take a bit longer. But SOOO MUCH SAFER!!

Unfortunately, this guys seems like he wants to make money. He didn’t give any warning. My own dermatologist told me that people with olive brown skin can get dark marks from TCA.

If you have olive brown skin tone, TCA can give you post dark marks! This doctor doesn’t say that. He wants your money.
