Cool, I always enjoy these repair vids. There's something about the logical thinking required that's appealing. Way beyond my scope, but still interesting.
Another great video, Adam. Looking forward to your video on oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Would be great to see how to measure analogue video signals (RGBS) on a scope.
It seems like it's always a bad TTL chip on these boards (except when it's a color PROM). I've lost count of how many TTL chips I've replaced on my PO and SPO boards in the dozen years that I've had them. They are by far the most problematic boards I own. I've also had an N2A03 CPU go bad on one of them.
Super video, I find your presentation to be great and very helpful. Any chance we could have the long-awaited tutorial on the video workflow, your CPU/earlier in the process flow etc one was excellent and it helped me make some great mental leaps I hadn't considered. I know, I know, you don't work for me, but if you do find time, we do really appreciate it ;-)
I have a Punch out that some1 completely Smashed the back of both CRTS for no reason and it did work i unplugged all of the wires going to the Crts and like to test the game blind to see if the game-board still boots but have no idea wich1s are sound
Really interesting videos. Question for you all knowing of arcades 😁! I have a Galaga cab with a re capped crt and 60-1 board. I usually play it on weekends and I'm wanting the monitor to last, since I do not have your knowledge. Is it better the leave the game on all day (2 days a week) or turn it on and off a few times during the day??? The kids and I usually play it here and there, then leave the game room and come back after a few hours. I usually turn it off (3-4times)during that time. Thanks 👍🏻
Personally I only turn my games on when I'm playing them. Electronics have a lifespan and the less I have mine powered up for no reason means the less time I have to repair them ;)
OneCircuit Thanks for the reply !! Yes that's my theory as well. I'll keep it off if not In use and less heat built up on the components the better, I would assume. Enjoy your and Johns videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey I looked at your videos today about punch out repair!!! My punch out functioned great but then one day my lower screen lost the opponent and the play! All the sound and activity is great just no visual? What failed?

Any day with a new video from Adam is a good day.
As always your videos are a tremendous help. They get me thinking more logically about the boards I work on. Can't thank you enough!!
This is some superhero level support.

brilliant and informative as ever. Well done Adam.
The new end screen is awesome!
Not sure if I should be ashamed I never knew DK was in the background for all these years
