The moment he threw the NWA Championship belt in the trash, two true legends were born: Shane, and ECW!
    Thanks, Shane!

When I first discovered ECW. I was attracted to the excitement, Joey styles was a big reason, the promos were excellent, the matches were not that long, but seeing the flyboy Rocco rock, and Sabu, and sandman do their thing.... I got hooked on it pretty quick

I like Shane Douglas as a heel in ECW. Would have loved to see Degeneration X to the job to the Triple Threat.

Its a shame Shane didn't get bigger on the heels of his ecw run...i feel like he followed the money to his demise. Can't blame him when wcw was tossing money out of Turners bottomless pockets.

And when ecw was shaky and shady financially. I cant lie as a teen, I looked at the dudes who jumped differently. But I didnt conciously think about the fact that these dudes had families to look out for.

Shane Douglas was a great heel because as much as you hated him as the heel you loved him. Just like in the Dark Knight trilogy you loved the villains the Joker and Bane even though they were the heels. ECW was the best wrestling promotion from 1996 to 1999.

You're funny...Shane was right on doing what he did. If you think the belt he threw down was the same belt held by Race , Funks, Rhodes and Flair, you're nuts. This was a belt that a few sleazy promoters were trying to resurrect and there was no way it would have lasted.

Shane/Troy didn't become a star in a major company because the guy who scored the boss's daughter stole his gimmick and buried him in the process. And by the time he got to WCW...well, we know what happened there. Total and complete mismanagement.

Shane...and those gorgeous blue eyes☺️...Shane, the Dean Douglas gimmick may have been ridiculous, buttttt, You, in that baby-blue singlet, had a llllllot of females, and gays, like myself, MAKING SURE we bought our tickets when You were wrestling nearby, and when You weren't, we were making sure we were home to watch You on TV...and I have a pretty good feeling that many of those females easily talked their boyfriends into buying tickets for a show...and I have no doubt that when You were in the ring wrestling, those girls would "talk You up" to their boyfriends about your wrestling skills (not your looks, because they wanted them to like You, not feel jealous, lol) chatting with each other about your move and such...What I'm saying is YOU sold tickets to women, and gay males because You were Hotttttt, a hot jock...and the guys liked your wrestling style, demeanor, and cockiness...You sold tickets to a MASSIVE spectrum of the population... I've just always LOVED watching You in the ring, I'm 54 now, so I've watched You from the start 😉...They could of put You in a diaper and a bonnet, we'd of STILL paid to watch YOUR body wrestle....and now, watching this, I find out you're intelligent too, DAMN MAN, c'mon 🥰❤️💪🤓💯💥
