  • For the past year we have bought all our pigs as weanling's and raised them out to sell as wholes or halves. Going forward the plan is to become a true farrow to finish operation and start breeding pig crosses from purebred stock. If all goes as planned, we won’t be buying any more piglets…

Great video. And thanks for the update. I sure look forward to seeing more piglets coming your way and what you're going to do with them. I'm looking to start a farm in the next 16 to 20 month once I'm done with work and we move from West Texas to the Central/East Texas and raising pigs is going to be one of the many things I want to do on the farm, so I've found your videos very informative. Keep up the good work and best of luck.

Thanks for the kind words! And good luck with your move to the farming life in a few months. We have definitely enjoyed our transition to this!

Nice looking pigs. Which do you like more for ease of care hogs or cattle?

Thanks for the comment. That’s a tough question as I really enjoy caring for both hogs and cattle. I think on a day to day basis, cattle are a bit easier. But when it comes time to work the cattle for vaccines, castration, etc., the cattle is down-right a hard working day and usually takes an all hands on deck effort.
