2020 Limited - just did this entire process to include the jumper under the fairing and BOOM I’ve got Waze on my screen and the phone in the Tour Pak. Thank you - great video
Pro-Monkey, I hear you on the "it don't fit" for the larger iphones as I had the same issue on my 22 Tri Glide. There is a trick that can be done with this though. If you take out the little box from inside the fairing, you can use a dremel tot cut out the back of the box to get one corner to clear. The reason for this is that HD decided to taper the back of the little box which prevents the phone from sliding in all the way and the front door from closing. Well this will work but it does take a little patience. With this mod, I also moved the rubber grommet that secures the USB cable to the top left of the box and secured it with wire tie sticky clamps. This allowed me to move the USB plug to the front of the box to plug in a 6 inch right angle USB plug for the phone. Another thing that needs to be done is that closed cell foam insert needs to be cut down from about half way back and those little foam friction nibs needs shaving down otherwise you will have hell to pay to get the phone out of there. I realize that this sounds like this process needs some sort of work instruction to get it accomplished, but I was bound and determined to have this convenience. Having this connection required me to have the little behind the fairing Amazon plug for around $15, but it works like a champ once it's all connected and it allows you to have the phone charging, while using the appleplay and your "mitts" cannot reach it when riding. All of the toggles on the switch housing work with a little scrolling to get to where you want in appleplay as well. I may try this wireless carplay for my truck as I have a separate wireless charging pad and won't have to connect the phone via a plug. Something to remember on the bikes is that wireless does increase battery drain a bit so on longer rides, well you get it. IDK if this helps or not or just some rambling techy shit, but like you I like the cool toys or at least the challenge of getting some of them to work. My wife, on the other hand with her 22 Heritage is the die hard "Shovelhead" genre with "all that crap ain't worth shit!" ROFL Keep up the great work and thanks for the video.
Bought both items and installed. Carplay works amazing, but only while plugged in. The AUTOSKY plugs in and i can see it connected to my iphone thorough Bluetooth but carplay never starts. Yeah, I’m having the same problem with mine. I just bought and received it today and I can’t get it to work. I can see and connected it with Bluetooth but won’t connect to CarPlay nor will it connect in the CarPlay settings.
Glad I found this video. I ordered the Autosky Pro and it works great. Only problem is I let it connect and when I start the bike it disconnects. Anybody else had this issue?
So one question is- Does this fix make it possible to play audio to your Bluetooth headset in a helmet and use navigation on the bikes screen? Without buying a WHIM and going through all that? Great video very informative.
Good idea. Just to let you know your iPhone will over heat as well in your saddlebag. I already did what you were talking about doing. Overheated quite fast in the summer and shut itself down.
Yes. The cooler tells the stereo it has a mic plugged in (required before CarPlay will work at all), then the wireless adapter removes the need to plug your phone in.

True. You have to have a microphone plugged in/synced for it to work. I actually would prefer to remove the WHIM from my wife's bike but I haven't gone that far yet.
If you have an Ultra Limited or Road Glide Limited, you can get Car Play going for about a penny. Put a jumper wire between positions 1 and 4 on the DIN connector of the ***passenger headphone connector*** on the Tour Pak. That connects Microphone to Ground. Instant Car Play.
I just added the jumper wire as you suggested, plugged in a different bluetooth dongle on my 2020 ultra limited and Carplay started right up! Thanks for the information.

hi to y'all! ok, you guys screw with TONS of rain, what is your opinion of the best rain proof stereo for an "11 style bagger? Thanks for your vid's, you guys are very entertaining!!

Coolers?
@@ProfessionalMonkey In the lowers with all the fans etc. Wasn't clear on the question sorry.
@@jhood709 hey! A few things are gonna change on the 131 bike. I’ll do a video once I have everything here to do it all. Good eye!
@@ProfessionalMonkey Thanks Ive been wanting to do that but cant seem to find the right stuff. Extra hiding places are never a bad thing.
Do you need a I phone for this to work can you have a android phone
The Amazon page says it’s android also
If you have an Android you would be using Android auto.
What can you do if you have a CVO with a WHIM and want carplay through your speakers instead of a headset?
