I've been contemplating places to retire and Costa Rica is at the top of my list.
I spoke to a few separate couples who are doing just that. All Snowbirds. Mentioned it was roughly 2-3k per month as long as they ate at home. Vehicles are fairly expensive, motorcycles are getting much more popular. Anything under 110cc engine doesn’t require registration or license to drive, scooters and mopeds are everywhere. I would 💯 consider building a duplex to have a rental. I would love to hear more from people who are doing it!
@@TravelGT I bought a small farm in mountains 5 years ago. Now am building a house. Basically food from grocer store is 30% more expensive than in US and gas is about 3-4 times more expensive. But it is worth it.
BRO!!! If you're a traveler, why tf don't you have a credit card with no international fees!!! lol $5 per transaction!!??? Sheesh.
I know it sounds crazy but I don’t do credit cards. lol i got one way for money to leave my pockets. Lessons learned since I have a tendency to let things get out of control swiping everywhere. Just trying to keep life simple 👍 cheers Chris! Thanks for watching!
@@TravelGT Hey, good for you knowing your limits and keeping yourself out of financial trouble. If you have one at all though, I'd get one that gives rewards, doesn't charge international fees, and NEVER carry a balance.

Not too long. It would be awesome to spend 3-4 days at many different locations. Dont book for more than that in a row, lots of places do free breakfast or other perks. Nice to move next door if the pool is better. Don’t expect refunds for over booked stays. Nice to have flexibility to move if needed.
Don’t be shy of boat tours or guided tours. Rent a Quad or ATV opposed to a car! Stay on the coast, start south as possible, work your way up. Half way Point Tamarindo. Take a break from the beaches, Go to the cloud forest to see the sloths and animals, it’ll be colder and rainy up there. That’s where you find most of the forest creatures. Volcano is super fun, horse back riding to Hotsprings!
Most expensive place in the region. Watch you wallet. Check your reciepts religiously.
