The cockpit windows opening upwards is 100% movie accurate.
Our boy actually had to pause and check he didn’t hit something on the wall while stepping backwards on the stairs 😂

The Trick of MrDuckbricks Walking backwards is as simple as that: His Cameraguy is holding also a mirror, check the reflections on his glasses
He can walk backwards because the camera is holding a mirror up so the guy can see behind him as he walks.
There is no mirror involved 😂
I don’t want this to happen per say, but If you ever fall down the stairs and break a bunch of stuff please include it in a video

A scratched translucent screen piece does feel bad. Yet for this build it would add some more detail or story.
Maybe your Ornithopter flew through one of the raging sandstorms. Or your Ornithopter was in the middle of a fire fight.
They say Lego fans will build this set. But a true Dune fan, will build this set...again.
I’m not a Dune fan at all, but I love this set.
The red axles and blue pins are giving me Eljay review flash backs lol! Otherwise this is an incredible set, Lego really cooked here!
Small detail:
The cockpit canopy opening is movie accurate. In the scene in part 1 where Duncan lands at the spaceport he exits the vehicle from the front and you can see the canopy raise and lower on the side.
Saw the movie last night. Absolutely blew my mind. I’m not even a big fan of the series but it’s actually incredible
Haha! That sideeye. The wings are so big that they almost caused catastrophe with the new minifig racks on the wall
I love mine. Didn’t understand the features at first but I loved it anyway. It reminds me of a big mechanical wasp or hornet 🐝
I want another one!! And as someone else suggested, switch out the color pieces for black. Well done Lego.

This was a great video. I’m a huge Dune fan. Love the books, movies and Sci-fi mini series. I’m currently doing my first Lego build since 1981. I’m building the Dune Sandworm that came with my Blu-ray Dune Sci-fi mini series Complete collection. I’m having a blast. After building my Lego Sandworm I plan on tackling this.
Playing with the thought of getting two of these. One complete with mods and lights, and the second modded to have one side open to show all the mechanics in action as they're operated.
Another great vid! Could u also provide us a list of the pieces that you swapped? I redditted the one mentioned in the video but that list is way too long and would cost too much lol Thanks

This set is beatiful
The wing droop on the right side is real for all of these…I think the molds of the blades are all bending in the same direction. I tried a hair dryer to get them to bend the other way but it is only temporary. Do you have any ideas for how to fix this?
Do you have the part list handy for what to order on bricklink to clean up the colors? I was looking at the parts list in the instructions and can total up what Is visible but if you’ve got it already…. 😅

absolutely love this set, it feels a lot more like a classic Technic set than the modern specialized fairing builds that vehicles use today. and i think having these great mechanical functions is a good compromize to having a "perfect" static model. but i can understand why people dont like that aspect as well.
only thing i dont like is the abundant use of small coloured elements, but it isnt a dealbreaker and i think the overall design is good.
i built this set and finished it but the back 4 wings don’t flap like the front do. did i make an error in the building process ? if so, im not sure where i went wrong as i followed the instructions :/ HELP
I have not yet purchased this set - planning on it - but it would be nice to have the replacement pieces ready to go. Do you have a list of parts and quantity needed to "upgrade" the set to make it more appealing?

My landing gear doesn’t stay out when I try to set it down they just side back in, also my wings barely flap. Any help or suggestions to fix these issues?

Its great but i have one problem with it. When you pull the wings back the lever snaps to the left and lifts up some of the legos on top.
Ppl crazy! Would love to have more play features vs looks this set kills it for the playability

I bought this set on launch day and built it soon after. It was probably the hardest set I've built in a long time, but it was worth it. And I even was able to get it for $110 on launch day

I feel like adult sets, due to being target at adults can have some differences from instructions and the actual set.
Like internals can still be colorful as long as they don’t show.
But the colored parts that are colored so you can see it on the instructions better. Why not have us aware our color is different but is colorful on paper so you can see.
Sure some will search for the neon yellow axel and then realize, “oh lol, I have only gray and blacks”
Since the biggest negative to some sets in the colorful technic.
On kid sets I’m fine with color lol.

Technic sets and traditional brick sets play out like completely different toys, so like sets like these that use technic as an extension of the LEGO system instead of an alternative are great, it's all just LEGO.

I want that Lego set. Even though I watched the 2021 Dune film (which was slow) and kind of like it, all of the playable functions have so much to offer. Thank you for the review Lego Masters champ!
I recommend watching it again (at least it was somehow much more enjoyable for me the second time) and then watch part 2... Let me tell you, it's pretty good.
Please READ Frank Herbert`s novel DUNE - that is the real thing! Don't matter which movie or TV show you may have seen, the original books tell the story best
Amazing set (Mike Psiaki truly is a mad scientist....), but that color puke is such a let down. I fully understand that Lego intends every set to be an entry level set, but I rather look a few seconds longer for a piece than end up with a hideous end result. And especially those red axles seem so unnecessary, considering the set already includes black ones. If only they would include a bunch of extra parts for people who do care about the looks....

they definitely should have color matched the technic pegs. ease of build is such a lame excuse....its still building it step by step with a manual. and its a 160 dollar 18+ set. if someone wants to buy it for their own first build, or a kids, they should know that going in it will be a bit more difficult than a 15 dollar set

Using the multicoloured pieces in a set like this is dumb
If you don't like the colors, because you're not a kid, you can interchange the pieces for a few dollars. Not a problem I'd say.
Those blades will work out pretty nice in a properly scaled up Nivawk or Ultima Dume MOC, I guess ..
WHY are there so many ridiculous colored bricks? It's PERFECT in black and gray.
The idea is to make the set as simple to build as possible by folks who are not familiar at all with Lego - any set could be someone’s first Lego set, so the pieces are in bright colors as a necessity to make it clear to put together. Seasoned builders will have no problem with it, but Lego has to account for everyone - hence the colors, as explained in the video
