What this is teaching me is that I need better tools than my dinky little swiss army knife--but as a first ever project this is a lot of fun so far!! Thank you so much for helping me get started, I'm super excited to learn more.
I’m glad to hear that you found this episode helpful. Folding knives are convenient however I much prefer fixed blade knives because they’re easier to use. All the best in your whittling journey.
I’m trying out whittling and I loved watching this! I have a cat, and I will say I think it would add some character if the cats tail was curved! Great video!
That's a great idea! Thanks for watching it. I purposely kept it a simple on these carvings but there’s definitely many possibilities for cat expressions. I’ll be trying other ones myself.
Don’t don’t try to speed up your work that’ll come naturally take your time you’re doing an awesome job you look like cats to me the more you do the better you get great work thank you
Hi Tim, thanks for the video. It's great to enjoy the carving and not be too obsessed with perfection, especially when you carve something new or small. For me I can spend minutes or hours and then none at all for months until something inspires me. Your cat in this video was definitely an improvement, and I'd be happy with all of the ones you did if I had carved them, so well done. I subbed btw. X
Thank you for your encouraging comments. It’s one of my main objectives with these whittling projects is to show just enough of the process and keeping it simple. That way viewers like yourself can just give it ago and not get so bogged down in the how to do it. Also it’s not about “look what I can do” but rather look what you can do if you take your time, have a good reference model and sharp tools. Best wishes with your whittling journey.
Hey I think you’re doing an awesome job and like you said every time you carb you try to do it a little better a little better it’s called practice no one’s perfect but you can surely make them look good keep up the good work
