Bugs me how you never get Oregon trail. By far the best investment for free when you send the state capitol. Then just pay 500 gold to age fast. I usually save it for Indus. Think how much wood you would have saved!!
Aging fast to age 3 to get the fort up as fast as possible is perhaps the most important part of this strat, if the fort goes down you lose the game. You are thinking from strictly a value perspective, but the fast age is far more valuable in the bigger picture. If you don't believe me, then try this start out for yourself and you will soon know what I mean :)
It does not work consistently. To be fair, compared to what France can do, Iamturk did not put a very strong pressure from early on. Against a more agressive or even a more boomy player, I'm not sure how he can pull this out. Lion sometimes plays well, but honestly, I've seen Iamturk play better games. Iamturk was late in ages, while only using a few cav until 15minutes. No infantry, no artillery, no tanky melee cav, nothing. To me, it feels like iamturk was trying a native strat of his own. Except when italy is played, a lot of games are agressively played, look at Kaiserklein vs Optimus in EPL for example. This one really is a clusterfuck tho
And although some may argue that FF and semi FF were basically done every game during the past few years, I think that more agressive strats require more skill, more micro, and lead to more acitivty in game : they are much more enjoyable to watch. It's also good that there is some diversity, but favoring turtle and not clean rushes for example feels wrong to me as well.

there is a hotkey for 'select all' me personally I use the 'end' key as it's right next to delete which make doing pillarless walls easy.

I hate that this is what this game has become. This turtle playstyle is truly infuriating, and what makes it worse is that it consistently works.
It does not work consistently. To be fair, compared to what France can do, Iamturk did not put a very strong pressure from early on.
