That pigeon reminds me of a roommate from college. He is a big, 240 lb dude from NYC who was afraid of pigeons. His reasoning was that “if something that small is so unafraid of people so much bigger than it, it must have a reason”
Am in love with nana Chan lol she is sooooo cool and cute! She keeps her bike clean by putting all her stuff In her back jersey pocket just like me lol. Thanks Cruise for this video it was fun!
Your comment about the garbage truck music brought back memories of my childhood. When my grandmother first visited us in the US, she hastily ran out with bags of garbage when she heard the music. Little did she know, it was the ice cream truck!
Here in India people turn when ever where ever and how ever they wish, 3:36 and for the garbage trucks, in the place where i live the grabage trucks makes a lot of noise so they dont really need to play some sound to alert others (plus we usually can smell it when you get within 20 meters of it ;)
Amazing video, thank you! Also in Melbourne, Australia we have "hook turns" for cars which are the same as the one in this video - but they are used to turn right when you are crossing a tram track :)
I'm not sure how you feel about this but you're location references allowed me to follow you using Google Maps on my other computer screen. For me, it makes the journey much more fun. This was a great video, thank you.
14.59 this garbage factory was designed by Hundertwasser, an austrian designer. He had a recognizable style. In europe you find many houses designed in that style.
Love watching cycling round Japan small villages very beautiful people live in harmony peace no stress no crime no mass shooting perfect fresh food helping each other .thank you ❤
Another bicycling adventure. Thanks Nana-chan! It reminded me of my ride around buffalo New York, especially the Fairy across the river. Two pretty ladies and at least two suicidal pidgins made this ride memorable. I am looking forward to riding with you two soon. John
We had lots of fun filming on the same bridge at 17:26. We were filming the climb so got a good workout going up 3 or 4 times in October rather than down. Keep up the great work guys!
Love them garbage trucks in Taiwan where you just run down and line up to throw it in, whereas no such luck in B.C. Canada, we have to put out cans after 7 AM due to bears rummaging for food. One can get fined for putting out too early or not in proper government cans. Lovely ride today and I wished we had your weather. Our lockdown was extended for another month and more restaurants will be closing permanently next. :-(. I hope all stores and theatres and arts will be able to survive. Stay safe and healthy to all.
This was from last September. We are having some freezing weather here lately. Japan is starting to announce some emergency regulations, we'll see what happens here..
Looks like a fun trail away from traffic. Good food is great for the morale after a nice bike ride. Just noticed your mountain bikes are hard-tails. Wise choice, it reduces the weight and makes for a more responsive ride.
Wide open roads, no heavy traffic, cycling infrastructure, and clean air is not something I see often in a city in my country. Great video! It really widened my worldview
The Maishima Plant, the waste disposal facility, was designed by the Austrian architect and artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The „original“ is located in Vienna.
@@TwoWheelCruise if you can also do a shop tour of Tokyobike that would be amazing. Those were amazing bikes , got a chance to ride them on a bike tour in Tokyo
In Australia, if you are using the shared road, the rules are the same for all vehicles, i.e. you can turn right without having to go straight and cross the road first. With bike lanes.... well, you never know as they tend to start and finish very abruptly without much thought put into them. That's in Sydney anyway. Melbourne is much better in that regard. Lovely video by they way!
Wow! What a treat this ride was, I’m so jealous, garbage burning plants that look better than most malls here in the states, music playing garbage trucks? Nope not here either, the only sound they make is the slamming of the containers, definitely not music to my ears, free riding ferries, ugh, I’m telling you, I think I’m moving to Japan, thanks for the awesome video, loved it...
Here in Melbourne Australia hook turns are required in the CBD for cars because of the trams run down the centre of the street. So it’s common for bikes to do hook turns also.
New viewer, loved this video. Idk if you ever figured out the 16:9 camera thing, but if you go to settings>camera>preserve settings on your iphone and turn on “creative controls” it will save your aspect ratio settings 😊
I know I'm late to this, but here in America, we have to use the left turn lane with the cars. Although we could always do it Japanese style. I think it would depend more on traffic, location and other factors.
You were too early to enjoy the cherry blossoms at the castle. We were walking under the blossoms as they were falling a few yrs ago. Osaka is my 2nd favourite city after Kyoto. Cool tunnel. If it wasn't for riding on the wrong side of the road. I think Japan is sneaking up on best cycling country.
That looked like alot of fun. That pigeon was very bold though and it made me laugh because of your reaction to it not moving out of the way. Also super jealous because you guys got to go inside of USJ and eat and see the spinning globe. Cant do that here in the US everything is inside where you have to pay for it. That garbage place was interesting as well. Maybe they should do something like that in the US too. No our garbage trucks do not play music it is just the icecream trucks around here. Although it would be interesting if our garbage trucks did play music so people knew when to put out their trash lol. Great video.
In Australia we can do both. In the CBD you would be crazy to do a right turn instead of a hook turn. In fact cars have to do hook turns at a lot of intersections in the CBD due to trams in the middle of the road. We call it right turn from left lane or hook turn for short 🚴😀
Here in Quebec, Canada we're allowed to use the leftmost lane to turn left if there are more than one lane, you just need to make it clear to everybody you're going to turn, otherwise a lot of people also do hooks like you did depending on the street and how risky it is to cross several lanes :)
In philippines we can turn when its red signal because our bike lane is for loading and unloading taxi jeeps bus HAHAHAHA many people are mad about that in the philippines
I loved cycling through the old school back streets and neighborhoods. I once took an overnight ferry from Osaka to Shin Moji port.... to eventually ride into Fukuoka. On the way, I discovered Wakato bridge which reminded me of Golden Gate Bridge. Thanks for pointing out なななチャンネル. I subscribed.
I really hope they open Japan borders again, I'm supposed to study there for a semester, and I just love road biking.. Colorfully exciting Japan is so interesting compared to good old flat Denmark!
@@TwoWheelCruise Btw, in case you see this, would you happen to be making a video about how to get a used bike in Japan? You can probably guess why I am asking ;b
Oh jesus, crazy to bike in the traffic... in Sweden this is way more easy, usually bike roads everywhere, and most of the cases the bike roads are closed off from the rest of the traffic, many times going completely separate from the main roads. Very safe this way, you don't have to go with the cars
Great video. I really like this ride with your friend. Absolutely going to follow her on your channel. The views are great. The ferris wheel is huge. She really knows your bike routes. Awesome attractions. Thanks so much for sharing. And thanks to your bike friend...😃👍👌👊🚴♂️🚴♀️🚴♀️❤❤❤
Great video, great coolaboration with Nanannan-tchan. Osaka looks like a great city😍would be great to see the suburbs as well 👍No pressure Cruise 😂 Thanks and take care.
Thank you for sharing great ride. She sure picked pretty interesting landmarks. I remember the first time I went to the lift down to underpass below the river 😄 that is quite unusual. And yes, the rubbish processing facility on that landfill island!
Beautiful ride! Really needed this today. Thank you! Yes, it was an eclectic ride. It was interesting learning more about Japanese cycle laws and aspects of the culture, especially about the trash trucks playing music. And yes, it was very obvious the old guy was really into her "bike." I could see his blood pressure rise from here! Did I miss it? Did you describe what the burgers you had and how they were different? I heard seasonal, but why? Stay Safe. Be well.
Glad you enjoyed 🙂 The tskukimi burger is an egg burger in September. I didn't explain it in this video, but we did a livestream in September showing the burger 😉
Really nice video you guys, especially nice watching you guys ride around beautiful city.i love biking myself.i notice how blue bar tape gets dirty,I know how it is,now I always buy black tape, even though I always want to get some nice color.keep up good work you guys.stay safe. Great ride and tour. Truly a very smooth experience with someone from the area in the lead. You know the girls were talking about you after you passed them on the bridge climb. i remembered they said that osaka is the cycling capital of japan
first time seeing a montage on your video nicely done
I believe it :) Thanks!
This is one of my all time favorite videos! It was unreal to see both you and Nana-chan in the same video! I follow both channels separately.

My old stomping ground when I lived in Japan. Except I mostly stayed around Umeda down to Tennoji.
Now i love japan more so cool country and i wanna go there because of those cool views and cool places
This video is a great reminder of how nice it is to cycle in a country with virtually NO on-street parking. Thanks for sharing!
Sadly there is a lot of illegal on street parking, but it helps clear more space for cycling on the main roads

33:15 That water jet bike on the road.
The garbage burning building looks a lot like an original one, by Hunderwasser, in Spittelau, Vienna, Austria 😁

In Finland it's legal to turn left with the traffic, but you can do the two step turn if you feel it's safer when there's heavy traffic.
