They're clearly gearing up for Alabasta as their big arc, but if they keep up their production, they might make it to Enies Lobby. I just hope they can make it there before their actors get visibly older. Even going week by week, it took 7 years for the original series to get to that point.

What I’m most excited about is the flood of new one piece reactions that’s gonna come from people who’re now coming from the live action to see what the anime/ manga is all about.
Also, the first thing every says about this series is that they were worried. I never worried about this being a good adaptation for one reason. Oda was HEAVILY involved in every stage of its making. From set design, to casting, and even had a contact clause that he could scrap the entire project at any time if he thought it wasnt good enough.
Once I finished the live action it made me want to rewatch from where it’ll pick up. What I’m doing now is rewatching the series again but dubbed and I kinda enjoy it dubbed. The Blue East saga live action covers ep 1-46/47 and goes from there.
One of my favorite parts of the anime is the music, so I really hope the Netflix show gets it right! Did you ever go back and listen to the intros or the Binks Sake scene on Thriller Bark?
If you’re going to watch the live action then jump to the anime, DON’T skip straight to reverse mountain. Make sure to watch Loguetown first, then reverse mountain!
Hey man I’m glad ur wife likes the show, when she gets to ennies lobby with robin with her back story. Would it be possible to give an update and tell us how ur both enjoying the anime ?
They also removed Hachi(the dumb nice octopus fishmen), Jango (and the hypnosis joke), Moomoo the sea cow, and the giant Lion luffy twists into the ground..... but it is fine.
I truly did love this. I don’t have as many issues as others have. My biggest issue is ussop. I love how his character is portrayed and I love that he’s not scarred to the point of cringe. But at the same time. I need him to be more scared than he is. It kind of looses his motivation a bit for even joining the crew.
There is so much you anyone can criticize about the show and be totally right. There's a lot wrong with it.... and yet. And yet... as a fan who's been reading the manga since the 90s... I ended up LOVING this show. There can be no other explanation that actual magic. The show is just magical. It made me fall in love with One Piece all over again. Arlong Park was the arc that hooked me into One Piece - specifically the "Help me" scene. I was... not dreading but I was definitely anxious as they went into it in the Live Action. And it wasn't perfect... but god damn it nailed the spirit. NAILED it.
I enjoyed it. I think they can squeeze in loguetown. Before reverse mountain like one episode before season 2. I know they did the barrel thing. Hopefully 10 or 12 episodes for the next season if any. Loguetown can be 1 episode, Reverse Mountain 2 episodes, Little Garden 3 episodes, Drum Island 2 episodes and Alabasta 4 episodes. What do you think?
Loguetown HAS to be done. It is critical to their pre-Grand Line development. Zoro gets his swords, we see Smoker and how effective he is. Luffy does his big announcement, and we see Buggy and Alvida there as well. If it is not a single episode, it could be a Live-Action movie. Dragon would need to be seen again.
They are claiming Loguetown was cut, so I dont expect it in the next Season if we get a second season. Appparently it was one of the chapters they intentionally choose to cut out.
How did your wife like drum island? Specifically choppers flashback? I felt the big emotional moments felt flat compared to the manga in the LA. So was curious if there was a difference.
7:00 I had similar issues the emotional moments didn't hit as hit since they were rushing through it. As a show I give a it 6/10. As a gateway into one piece it's a 8/10 since 2 of my friends are reading the manga and watch the anime now
I love this show, the set design and costumes were great, very enjoyable characters, and a great way to retell the story! Luffy was my favorite character in this show. I really hope all the cast go on to do great things and have long careers in the future!
I love the series to death but my only issues were the build of Arlong being so misproportioned to his head and the fact that Zoro is so boring before Sanji coming in. In the anime and manga he's more cool and aloof but serious when he needs to be. In live action he's so stoic and kind of lifeless
A street fighter 6 merch...are you a fan of Maximilian Dood as well? When this LiveAction dropped, I opted out of his Twitch Livestreams for a whole month, his YoVg streams even..for me his crew if ever got into OnePiece, is a dream. His pal Simmons often poke fun with the OP fans, but another friend Kenny actually saw this LA and had fun. I missed their conversation of this, of how Kenny told Max/Simmons/Steeb..
Yes! I miss Smoker…ohhh I can’t wait for Alabasta! at least the Live Action fans would check out the anime/manga while waiting for new season! Just like how I would go back to anime/manga every time I watch unfinished adaptations.
I don’t think they’ve removed Loguetown, I think they’re just saving it for Season Two, that’s why we got the tease of Smoker and the Buggy/Alvida alliance against Luffy
The child actors are a little awkward, but it doesn't take away from the show. The cgi though has been amazing. Its hilarious, I genuinely laugh out loud at many points, but I also love that they've kept the darker tones of the manga over the anime.
I really would like to know the rate of people going from the Live action to the anime. Netflix will probably get subscriptions that they wouldn't have got months from now from people who made the switch to the anime. The anime being so long is probably the real appeal for them from a financial perspective.
There's definitely problems but I liked it a lot! I miss the wacky side characters and subplots the most, that to me is at the core of One Piece and keeps it from being a typical shonen manga. Still they kept it just goofy enough to balance out the dark elements.
I would really really really love if u and ur wife tell us about ur journey through all these chaps of OP... Especially ur wife.. I wanna know what she felt reading thru the manga.. Does she like it? Does she hate it? Would really love to know her thoughts
I can definitely attest to the fact that it is incredibly interesting for non fans. As a non-manga/anime reader/watcher of one piece, I can confidently say this has become my new favourite fantasy/adventure series on Netflix. Are there flaws? Yeah definitely. And I’m sure if ur a FULL on OP fan then these flaws are even more evident to you. But overall, it was a good time. I even got my mom into it, who saw one clip of Iñaki as Luffy and said “This kid is funny, I like him” 😊
Well, first of all, season 2 has just been confirmed by Oda himself a couple of hours ago, 2 weeks after the release, so it's probably a record for Netflix. And yes, the consensus among both One Piece fans and One Piece newbies is that, overall, it's great (of course, we, the fans, all have out particular issues and nitpicks with it), and the haters continue to say they hate it, because they are haters and probably didn't even watch it. On day 4 it was #1 on Netflix in 84 countries (surpassing Wednesday and Stranger Things Season 3 record of 83), and the following day it reached 86 countries. Buggy broke the internet, as he deserves, with millions of memes floating around, and the anime Live Action curse is now officially broken (again, except in the eyes of the haters), as One Piece, the boogeyman of anime that could never ever get an even decent live action adaptation, it was simply impossible, got a great one and a season 2 renewal, with plans for up to 12 seasons. Oh, on a side note, based on her own request and online lobbying to be in the series, it's 99% sure that Dr Kureha will be played by Academy Award winner Jamie Lee Curtis, so with the record it set (#1 in 86 out of 93 countries), after going on for only two weeks before getting renewed (which might also be a record. EDIT: Confirmed as a record, previous one was 17 days for Monster), and the bump in profile a name like Jamie Lee Curtis's will bring to season 2, it's likely to get an even bigger budget for the next season, and potentially more episodes per season EDIT: REPLY HAS SPOILERS
Since the announcement that they hope they can get at least 12 seasons. Here's my breakdown of all the seasons: S1 had 8 episodes but needed 10. S2 needs at least 12 but would be significantly better with 13. S3 can be done in 8 for significantly less the cost of S2. S4 NEEDS to be split into 2 parts to make it work. Part 1: Water 7 & Sea Train Chase to E.L.. Part 2: Enies Lobby & Post-Enies Lobby. 8 episodes are required for each part. Btw for anyone that doesn't know, *The Water 7 Saga is Matt Owens' favorite saga.* S5 can be done in 8 with Ace vs Blackbeard being the opening segment, and it's aftermath being how S5 comes to a close as Luffy looks at Ace's vivre card and we're shown the result of their battle. Him chained up, bordering death, and then, it cuts to black for 15 seconds with Moria's eerie message to the Strawhats to go find for themselves what awaits them in the New World in the background before the last episode credits silently scroll along. S6 can be done with just 8 as well. 6 for Sabaody, and 2 for Amazon Lilly. S7 like S4 NEEDS to be in 2 parts. Part 1: Impel Down & Marineford Build Up, and be done in 7 episodes. Part 2: Marineford & Aftermath, and can be done in 8 episodes. S8, which should be split into 2 parts. Part 1: Post War, 3D2Y(But it's changed to 9D6Y or something more because they'll need to age up the characters to match the actors believability in playing them(by this point, Emily Rudd will be in her mid to late 30s if she's still playing Nami, not to mention the other Strawhat cast that started in their mid/late 20s or early 30s)), & the Timeskip Training, which can be done in 8 episodes. Part 2: Return to Sabaody & Departure, which needs just 5 or 6 episodes. S9 can be done in 10 episodes at Fishman Island and can have a twist of Law showing up with his crew, and Caesar captured in his submarine having already saved the kidnapped children and destroyed Punk Hazard. All while wanting to meet with Luffy to form the alliance. Also, Kinémon and Momonosuke snuck on board the sub, thinking they were heading back to Dressrosa. * *This is a way to work around Punk Hazard's setup that it does original without having to go there and head into Dressrosa in S10.* * S10 NEEDS at least 13 episodes for Dressrosa to fully come into fruition! S11 can be done in 12 or 13, with Zou having 4 episodes and WCI having 8, and like Sandman S1, the Reverie can be a bonus 13th episode at the end to bring the season to a close. S12 needs to be broken up into parts that encapsulate the Acts of Wano with at least 16 exemplary fat-trimmed-from-the-manga episodes divided amongst them. Part 1: Act 1 can be done in 4 episodes. Part 2: Act 2 can be done in 5. Part 3: Act 3 can be done in 7 at the minimum. S13 will need at least 13(tbd when the arc in the manga wraps up, but atm it feels like it needs this) episodes with it covering Egghead and World events, and it being the beginning of the Final Saga! S14...tbd(Hopefully, Elbaf at last!🙏🤞 🙏 🤞🙏 ‼️)
Right before the life action started my husband finally caught up to the anime 3 weeks before that , so it was interesting to see how he enjoyed it as much as I did ( even tho I grew up with it , the reverse mountain arc came out when I started 😅😅)
I have a lot of problems with this show, but it was entertaining. My benchmark for adaptations are FMA, Mob Osychom, and Fist of the North Star, as long as the show is better I can enjoy it. The interactions between the crew and sanji and zeff's relationship elevated the show for me, it kept me wanting to see.

If you’re going to watch the live action then jump to the anime, DON’T skip straight to reverse mountain. Make sure to watch Loguetown first, then reverse mountain!
Still waiting on you to do invincible
Did he just say, he and his waif skipped Loguetown? Never heard of anyone doing that…
Hey man I’m glad ur wife likes the show, when she gets to ennies lobby with robin with her back story.
Pretty much all the animals and things that'd be too expensive and require a lot of cgi.
I truly did love this. I don’t have as many issues as others have. My biggest issue is ussop. I love how his character is portrayed and I love that he’s not scarred to the point of cringe. But at the same time. I need him to be more scared than he is. It kind of looses his motivation a bit for even joining the crew.
This version of Usopp is what post timeskip Usopp should be like ideally. Still being visibly frightened but fighting without much complaint.
NAILED it.
They haven't removed loguetown. They just haven't done it yet.
I don't think they "removed" loguetown. Pretty sure season 2 will start with it.
they didn’t remove log town that will happen next season or in 2 new episodes to make it a full 10
My cousin and her man started because of the live action and I couldn't be happier
I'm sad about Death Note cause it can obviously work. The only cgi needed was the death gods... yet they still fuked it up
I enjoyed it.
@@comicstorian I hope they don't cut it. They had long enough to make the damn thing, it would make a great Ep 1 for Season 2
Most (all?) of the costumes worn by the cast are recreations of what their characters wore in various cover art from the original source!
That's amazing the live action is bringing more people into the One Piece cult I mean fandom. One of us one of us one of us...
Hmmm, I don't know about skipping east blue from the anime. It deserves to be appreciated... but whatever, you do you i guess
I really would like to know the rate of people going from the Live action to the anime. Netflix will probably get subscriptions that they wouldn't have got months from now from people who made the switch to the anime. The anime being so long is probably the real appeal for them from a financial perspective.
Im surpirsed you didnt mention rorouni kenshin within the good adaptations out there. Highly recommend it if you havent watched it yet
There's definitely problems but I liked it a lot! I miss the wacky side characters and subplots the most, that to me is at the core of One Piece and keeps it from being a typical shonen manga. Still they kept it just goofy enough to balance out the dark elements.
I never read or watched the anime and i LOVEDDDDD it. It has become my life now!
There will be viewers who watched the show, loved it and not realise it’s a giant of an anime that’s 26years old and counting. Netflix did great.
So it got a non fan interested... mission complete 🎉❤
I even got my mom into it, who saw one clip of Iñaki as Luffy and said “This kid is funny, I like him” 😊
The Japanese Death Note movie series is definitely worth checking out
Wow I'm surprised, I guess Netflix was kinda able to make this work.
Eiichiro Oda was heavily involved, so it kinda would.
EDIT: Confirmed as a record, previous one was 17 days for Monster), and the bump in profile a name like Jamie Lee Curtis's will bring to season 2, it's likely to get an even bigger budget for the next season, and potentially more episodes per season
EDIT: REPLY HAS SPOILERS
Since the announcement that they hope they can get at least 12 seasons. Here's my breakdown of all the seasons:
S1 had 8 episodes but needed 10.
Btw for anyone that doesn't know, *The Water 7 Saga is Matt Owens' favorite saga.*
S5 can be done in 8 with Ace vs Blackbeard being the opening segment, and it's aftermath being how S5 comes to a close as Luffy looks at Ace's vivre card and we're shown the result of their battle.
* *This is a way to work around Punk Hazard's setup that it does original without having to go there and head into Dressrosa in S10.* *
S10 NEEDS at least 13 episodes for Dressrosa to fully come into fruition!
S14...tbd(Hopefully, Elbaf at last!🙏🤞 🙏 🤞🙏 ‼️)
@@PaladinBerserkerJedi Nice summary of spoilers in case someone who's following the same pace as the channel, or live action only, reads you
They did not remove loguetown, they Will do it next season
Right before the life action started my husband finally caught up to the anime 3 weeks before that , so it was interesting to see how he enjoyed it as much as I did ( even tho I grew up with it , the reverse mountain arc came out when I started 😅😅)
The Live Action is really great like 8 hour of episodes just flew by to me watching it.
Thank you for the video Benny!!
Man this show's vfx will get really expensive if it gets more seasons.
Please rewatch the arlong park in anime as well there was very important characters and story that was lost in live action.
Omg you are doing manga reviews how could i forgot it when i commented this
Damn she’s in alabsata! Alright!!!
Reverse mount to middle of alabasta? So she skipped log town?
Loved the Sanji flashbacks
damn thats a lot of one piece in just a few days :O
So cool! My friend who also does not watch anime at all really enjoyed one piece and wants to start watching the anime.
Compared to manga is mid but compared to most tv shows its a lot of fun ,Hope season 2 will improve łów points, super happy for One Piece fans
They didn't remove Loguetown...they didn't get up to it...and then you proceeded to have your wife skip it straight in to reverse mountain. What a failure.
I never gave a shot about one piece not one bit! But after watching the live action show I started binging the manga
The longtown arc is actually at the end of along Park
it lived in her head rent free 😆
I love the show its só good
Cant wait to season 2
Watch strong world before you finish next arc in manga
Zeff is basically Sanji's father and Sanji makes that clear when you learn about his bio family.
So far other than some criticisms i have with the first 2 episodes i seen so far it is pretty decent but i wouldn't you can just jump on to reverse moutain in the manga ir anime due to the changed context and i dont think you can fully appreciate one piece unless you read or watched from beginning to end
did you guys go to Logtown?
Thank you for sharing!
Other than that I would start at loguetown after the LA I agree.
With this show's mainstream success and reception, we are now truly in the Great Age of Pirates
W Manga
W Anime
W Live Action
We One Piece Fans are Eating Good BABY!!!!!!!!!
I'm doubtful if they will adapt Chopper. If they do I wonder how they will go about it.
My wife liked the LA but said “I’m sorry but I still can’t do 1000 episodes.” But she’s not totally closed off to the manga (never watched anime or manga)
Tell her to watch One Pace instead - they take out all the filler and non-manga scenes used for padding.
@@vick1873 I did mention One Pace but if I can get her to read the manga I’m going to hard sell that one
The manga is easiest form to digest the story. That’s my only recommendation.
@@vick1873 one pace sometimes skip good stuff too. I have little respect for them.
