The Aeldari Combat Patrol will still be available briefly via the magazine I have a feeling the new version will be Aspect Warrior focused. Most likely three units of five models and a Autarch.
New Combat Patrol rumor iirc is; - Spiritseer - 5 Wraithguard/Wraithblades - 10 Dire Avengers - 5 new Warp Spiders At least, that's what my still New Year's fuddled brain is trying to remember the rumors for it being?🍻
For Death Guard's next combat patrol, I hope they just release the old Know No Fear sprues so we can get access to the LoC and the unqiue PM/Pox/Drone sculpts.
Even tho the kreig box isn’t out, some lgs are taking preorders or making a list of those who are interested so they can order enough. might be worth asking if they take preorders at your local lgs
Seeing another Combat Patrol go doesn't hurt that much any more, especially when the "Start Collecting!" series was by far the greatest consistent discount that GW offered back in the day. They were a small force, ready to go, with things you wanted, but also just the right amount of hooks to keep you buying. The current Combat Patrol boxes just feel like an inferior version with a new name to justify the price increase. The contents were adequate, but the second wave of them have so little synergy that I'm surprised people actually buy them. At this point, there's so much GW plastic in the world that it would be far more prudent to get the stuff used on eBay instead. I would recommend that to new players far more than the these "discount" boxes.
they replaced Start Collecting with Combat Patrols at a hight price because they had more in them. Now they're dropping the numbers (and variety) of models in Combat Patrols to be less exciting or discounted than Start Collecting. The big Battleforces are already starting to look like the old Combat Patrols too.
I don't think 11th edition will be a hard reset like 10th was, more like adjustments to the core rules. So the codexes released now will probably remain valid.
A comptently designed game would be like that, but big 40K is effectively a modelling/lore hobby for imaginative play rather than competitive. Too many factions, too many rule changes, 0 consistency from edition to edition without regard for time invested into modeling the armies. Sure change is good, but painted models AREN'T trading cards. It's too chaotic and inconsistent to even get good at playing unless you've effectively collected 3k+ points to tailor your force to each new edition's rules. IMO Kill Team is a far better designed 40k game
@boeufbourgeoisie Yeah, game design in general has evolved by a lot in the many decades since the core of 40k was created. And KT is definitely a good example of that!
Yeah, it should be marine focused. Some rubrics, a sorcerer a dreadnought and terminators would make a great box and it would tie in better with the Space Marine II game.

The old Aeldari Combat Patrol was pretty good... for a one-off. Probably too many bikes to justify a second one, certainly not a third. Expected it to go, don't expect the replacement to be better, though.

All I hear is "price increase inbound, price increase inbound" because that all GW does anymore. Please folks, go 3d proxies, GW doesnt deserve a dime until they change their gatbage management and stop trying to skin us wholesale. After falling into the newbie trap of the 'space marine' combat patrol (octavius?), I'll never buy another combat patrol box. It was a great introduction into what to expect from GW.
The space marine and the little brother combat patrol boxes are a trap this edition, in that if you want everything in the box, there's another way to do it cheaper.

I think it’s just because the game is more niche and it’s easier to do smaller batches of miniatures in resin than in plastic because it requires the making and switching out of metal molds.
