Oh Kathy,my heart's turning into a puddle of "Mush" Seriously, your precious Mango is just the epitome of exquisite BEAUTY...She almost looks like a manmade *Toy* in her perfection. At any rate,I simply LOVE all Parrots, but Conures&Indian Ringnecks will always have a special place in my heart--What captivates me so much about Conures are their large expressive eyes&SWEETplayful natures~little feathered "comedians" to be sure~love hanging upside down to play w/ toys they dangle off both their feet!
The queen is absolutely beautiful! Such a happy little bird too! I love to see birds this happy. It makes me realize that just bc a bird is in captivity dosent always mean that it is going to be miserable, like some people think.
Thank you. You know these parrots all too well. She is incredibly playful, very sweet and she loves to entertain and make us laugh. We're so lucky to have her.
Thankyou your bird helped me lure back one of my greencheeks he would of been dead if it wasnt for your videos probably i kept this playlist on loop and he heard the sounds and came back thank you once again god bless you have a nice day
As a captive-bred bird, it's habitat is its owner's habitat. An endangered species is fine as a pet (in my books), but only if it's been bred in captivity and not taken from the wild.
@Kadaver30 Actually, Mango has a macaw cage (which is extremely large for her size) and she loves it and she is a very happy parrot. We raised her from a baby and she is out and about all the time. When she gets sleepy at night she has a little tent in her cage that she loves to sleep in.
Found this info off a parrot forum: According to World Parrot Trust - Forums and Experts, the Queen of Bavaria conure was a gift to the Queen of Bavaria, hence the name. As far as finding out who exactly the Queen was at the time, I'm not sure as I can't seem to find a time period when that name was first put to use, but I did find this: Look up on web site: "List of Bavarian consorts" Best, Kathy
Our Aratinga guarouba or Ararajuba or Golden Parakeet. Its range is estimated to be limited to about 174,000 km2. between the Tocantins, lower Xingu, and Tapajós Rivers in the Amazon Basin south of the Amazon River in the state of Pará, northern Brazil. Additional records occur from adjacent northern Maranhão. The birds in a 1986 study used two different habitats during the year; during the nonbreeding season, which coincided with the dry season, they occupied the tall forest. During the breeding season, they left the tall forest and entered open areas on the edge of the forest such as fields used in agriculture. The golden parakeet is listed on the IUCN Red List as vulnerable. This is largely due to deforestation and the capture of wild birds for aviculture, where it is in high demand due to the attractiveness of its plumage. Locally, they are considered as pests for feeding on crops, and are hunted for food or sport. The current population is estimated to be in the range of 10,000 to 20,000. An example of the displacement of golden parakeets by habitat loss comes from the building of the Tucuruí Dam, Pará, from 1975-1984. More than 35,000 forest dwellers were forced from what had been a habitat that was considered to be "among the richest and most diversified in the world." In addition, 2,875 km2 (1,110 sq mi) of rainforest were flooded, and 1,600 islands were produced by the flooding, all of which were heavily deforested. An international effort led by the Brazilian government in partnership with Parrots International, Lymington Foundation, the University of Sao Paulo and others is underway to raise young birds in captivity reintegrate them to their natural habitat with support of locals in Northeast Brazil.
@SessaFrost - sadly, even if owners wanted to breed parrots to add to the wild, most of the conservation programs won't accept these birds. The only case I have heard where they have accepted a bird brought up in a domestic environment (versus a zoo) is the Spix macaw - and that's because at the time, they had less than 50 in their breeding program. (I hear they are up to 150+ now) It's sad - owners and parrot lovers want to help, but aren't allowed. Can understand, too high risk of disease
Yes. She is legal. There is not ring on her foot. Thanks goodness for that because she could have an injury related incident to having a ring on her. Also, avoid toys that have a single wire at the center that have toys attached to the wire itself. Once, the bird has demolished a quarter of the toys on the wire the parrot's wing could get caught in the wire and rip the wing. Buy toys that hang on a rope.
sun concures for sell they are extremely popular pet bird, and for good reason. These small parrots make delightful pets, and are usually friendly and easy to tame. While they can sometimes be difficult to understand, they are quite capable of mimicking speech. . Pairs of birds make good company for each other, but usually will not bond as well with their owners or mimic speech as well. A single bird is fine, as long as you spend a significant amount of time interacting with the budgie on a daily basis. Very playful and active, and quieter than some other parrots (although they can still be noisy). Choosing a Bird: It is best to choose a hand fed baby or at least a young bird that has been handled regularly. You can expect to pay more for a hand reared or very young bird, but this is worth the extra cost. While widely available at pet stores, these birds may have an unknown history, and if they are older will be more challenging to bond with and tame. Look for a bird that is bright, alert and active. . Horizontal cage bars offer the best opportunity for climbing and exercise. There should be space to place at least a couple of perches at different levels with enough space to comfortably move between them. Offering a variety of perch sizes will help keep the feet in good shape (using pesticide free, non-toxic tree branches for perches is another good option). need play and socialization time outside of the cage as well. Keeping the wings trimmed is a good idea though, to prevent escapes. Feeding: Variety is the key to a healthy diet. Seeds can be a nutritious part of the diet, but are high in fat so should only make up a part of the diet. Pelleted diets are often a good choice for birds as they are nutritionally balanced and birds can't pick out their favorite seeds and leave the rest, A variety of fresh vegetables (carrots, broccoli, corn, spinach, beans, etc.) and fruit should be offered, although persistence might be needed before your bird will try new foods (particularly if they are accustomed to an all-seed diet). Sprouted seeds are also an excellent way to add variety to your bird's diet. Avocados must be avoided, however. See "Parrot Nutrition" for information on providing a balanced diet. A cuttle bone can be provided as a source of calcium, but contrary to the advice given in older references and by a number of pet stores, grit is not needed and can be harmful if the bird eats too much. for more information please do contact me through the below email kellymatheo12@gmail.com
I heard anyone who has those they're encouraged to get a mate for their Golden Queens and start breeding them because their wild population has dropped so dangerously. Is this true?
+Chris DeCuir I purchased this cage 10 years ago. So they don't make the exact cage. The manufacturer: Hayneedle.com. The equivalent would be "YML Clio Playtop Bird Cage". Love their cages. The cage is 10 years old and still looks new. My other cage which is not pictured on my youtube is stainless steel and is already rusting.
Mango is asking you to pick the newspaper she was playing with, and give it back to her. My Konori does just the same. By the way, Mango is a legalized bird? She has the ring on her foot?
@Ducko123456789 It's nearly impossible for a private owner to get one such permit they are typically only offered to sanctuaries and not private ownership. In the US at lest. I read into it and judging by the U.S. Fish and wildlife Endangered Species Program. Even ownership of most raptor is difficult to own even when they are not on the threatened species list.
these endangered species are in the world because human beeings are taking care of them. If left unattended, their nos will dwindle in the jungles also. There are many endangered species wiped out from the world over the years, not because of the poching. Simply because humen beeings did not pay attention to them.
+April Mcinerney Mine is 10 years old and still loves her tummy rubbed. She loves to play and she loves her cloth tent. She sleeps in it every night. They are very silly parrots and so playful and loving.
The most important motives is a lot more altruistic. Raised animals will try to get next to the humans again. This could be disastrous. Think with me: You raise a parrot and free it. It will stay hungry, because it doesn't know where to find food. It will stay alone, becaiuse it doesn't know how to find another of the same species. And after suffering a lot, it will approach the first human being that crosses its view. And none will know how it will end. So, it's not a so good idea, at all.
I thought it was illegal to own an endangered species? You even list it in your tags. These birds are still listed on the endangered species and should be turned over to a zoo or other such origination for protective breeding and conservation of the species. These birds are highly treated by deforestation and illegal capture for sale on the black market.
Every time I look at these parrots I am amzed of their stunning colors. What a beautiful part of creation!

Having the time of her life. I can understand your concern if this bird was being mistreated but clearly she is happy, so there should be no issue.

Sounds like Donald Trump is talking in the beggining.
You can't make a bird breed. Professional or not. it's the bird choice.
Not true. No one would encourage everyday owners to breed these birds. Breeding should ONLY be done by professionals.
