    The GoSports does move a lot! I have one and it does hurt. I ended up buying a Carls hitting strip and cut a hole in the goSports to fit it. That defintiely fixed the issue with pain when fatting or hitting steeply on the ball. After fixing that, my biggest beef with the GoSports relates to durability. The foam underneath my feet has started to wear after only ~6 months of use. The Carls HotShot will be my next mat.

    I watched to the end and during enjoyed the "mystery reveal" of ratings. This was a pretty thorough demonstration and evaluation of these mats for sure. My concern would be durability. These mats will take a serious pounding over their lifetime and I know it's hard to determine the "wearability" of a mat after a handful of shots. After watching the entire video, I'm left with two questions. 1) Which mat would be the most durable? 2) Which mat was the consensus favourite, factoring in all your criteria? Thanks guys!!

    • @CarlsPlace
      @CarlsPlace  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Impressed you made it all the way through! It was a long one. And you have a great point about durability. Hard to test for this video, but we can honestly say that we use all of these hitting mats decently often in our showroom and they've all held up well! Some show wear in the hitting area or standing area, but not enough to be concerned about. As for the favorite, it seems as though we leaned toward the higher priced ones, which makes sense. But that doesn't mean the lower priced ones aren't good values!

      @@CarlsPlace It was a very good and thorough video. Most "reviewers" dont spend anywhere near the time that you guys did. I follow several "golf" channels here and as Im looking to buy a hitting mat, I dont wanna waste my money on something cheap, but cant spend $1300+ on a mat either. Plus, I live in Canada, so the exchange rate KILLSSSS me (Nearly 40% $CA to $US dollars.) I think most people want the best quality at the best price so I think, if I were to buy one, it might be the EZ Tee @ $450. I liked your criteria and for me "Realistic" and "Comfort" are more important that "Practicality" but the EZ Tee scored well across the board according to your review. Long story short...Great job boys!! I appreciate your candor....especially when you didnt rate your own Mat, but posted a review from a different guy. Nice to see integrity is still a "thing" on-line in 2024!! I will become your newest Subscriber. Cheers!!!

      It's ugly, isn't it?! But if you read some other comments and watch some other videos, you'll realize that we were purposely taking bad swings to actually hit the mat to get a feel for how forgiving they were on the joints, but also how they punished fat shots. We know we aren't professional golfers and that's not the point. Both of us typically pick the ball clean on a good swing, so we had to change things up to truly test out the mat.

      I don’t see the logic in wanting a good player to test a golf mat. I see the logic in wanting a good player to test a golf club but that’s more a case of a lesser of two evils. Meaning the inconsistencies that you have to reduce in testing a golf club, are the very things you want in testing a golf mat.
      Unless of course you’re someone who isn’t really interested in knowing how a golf mat will react to a wide variety of misses.
      That’s the logic anyway but maybe I’m missing something.

    According to chatgpt: The video "Golf Hitting Mat Comparison // Which mat is the best for you?" evaluates several top golf hitting mats, including TrueStrike, Fiberbuilt, EZ Tee, GoSports, Country Club Elite, and Carl's. Each mat is assessed based on factors such as durability, feel, shock absorption, and suitability for indoor use.
    For an indoor golf business, the Fiberbuilt mat is highly recommended. It offers a realistic feel and excellent shock absorption, which is crucial for frequent use and to minimize strain on players' joints. Its durability ensures it can withstand heavy usage, making it a cost-effective choice for commercial settings.
    Another strong option is the TrueStrike mat, known for its modular design and realistic feedback. However, it tends to be more expensive and may require more maintenance compared to Fiberbuilt.
    In summary, for an indoor golf business, the Fiberbuilt mat stands out due to its combination of durability, realistic feel, and player comfort.

    People throwing shade because they see these guys hit a few chunk shots have completely missed the point. 1. The guys are specifically talking about how it feels when you hit a bad shot 2. If you have a single surface “fairway style Matt” then the surface is way less relevant if you are hitting perfect shots every time. 3. Put a few videos of your “pro swing” up so we can all critique you too…. I bet you’re the same sort of guys that yell at the TV telling PGA or LIV players what they did wrong…

While we do have our own hitting mat that "competes" with other hitting mats, we also try to give honest pros and cons for all products-even if they’re not ours-so people can make the best choice for their setup. After all, we are a reseller of many of the mats in this video, and our goal is to help make your indoor golf dream come true. If you're unhappy with your mat, then we'd say the dream or goal hasn't been hit yet!

      While we admit that we aren't professional golfers, we weren't using our normal swings in this video.
