  • The magnitude of an Alaskan winter in display as these massive snow dump trucks work relentlessly to clear accumulated winter snow from active areas of the Anchorage International Airport. These MACK and freightliner trucks were captured over a duration of probably no more than 30 to 40 minutes max to give you an idea of how much snow clearance works goes on even towards the end of winter. It was about 16 degrees Fahrenheit on a pristine, clear, Alaskan winter morning. I was freezing my tail off, but enjoying the sight of the extreme weather big rig operations! For those paying close attention you can see the Chugach mountains, Denali (Mount McKinley), and Mount Susitna (Sleeping Lady) in the background of some of the shots - Not to mention the planes!
Filmed on the south side of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
What is your favorite winter Truck Spotting activity? Any suggestions?

Accumulated snow is being cleared and moved away from airport use areas.
