Nad rzeką, co bystro płynie,
Biedna sierotka siedziała,
A łzy tej biednej sierotki
To na murawę spadały.
I z róży wieńce zwijała,
Co zwinie to w wodę rzuci.
Myślała biedna sierotka,
Że tatuś i mama wróci.
Tłumaczenie:
Upon the river of fierce current
A poor orphan sat
And the tears of this poor stray
Fell helplessly onto the grass
And from roses, wreaths she made
What she made, into the went
The poor orphan though
That Mommy and Daddy will return
