I have litterally watched every new york video you've put up! So damn informative. The series where you just do the different disricts were amazing. Will probably rewatch them all again nearer novemeber. Thank you. Doughnut on me from that place if I bump into you!
Can you get transfers now? I mean, as you get on or off can you ask for a transfer, so that you can ride within a certain window of time, after you first pay your fare?
Asking because things change.
You are from originally from Florida but your covering New York City?
"Add Time" or "Add Value" is the most existential question a subway ticket machine will ever ask you!
Add Time, adding value was killing my pockets
I applaud your bravery, good sir. Not many newcomers are willing to explore every nook and cranny of NYC and give that knowledge to others who are not familiar with it.
(I’m a native New Yorker)
Thanks friend!
_im literally OBSESSED with your channel since 2017, please never stop!!!!!!!_
Thank you!
A poem for you:” No adventure is too small, especially if your name is Tal, with all of your amazing traveling, so many great videos unraveling, it’s always great to be a Clatt, and I will always be that!”
Fudge muffins I love this too much
the fact that Chambers Street is DIRECTLY under the NYC Municipal building .. speaks volumes! Thanks for your insight!
It's confusing at first but once you get used it it's easier to navigate. I know the subway map like the back of my hand
Super easy once you understand!
Me too
@@TheTravelingClatt good to know. hoping to travel to NY next year and the subway seems scary.
Doopz Adventures it’s not at all
New York should be its own country LMAO 😂 😂... I love the vidz man!!!!!
LMFAO yeah!
It it was, we’d be waging war against the other states just to get their famous goods.😆

I’ve lived in nyc my entire life and use the subway literally every single day, why am I watching this video at 3:45 am, nice content tho! Keep up the good work:)
If u are a tourist and traveling and using that MTA, Here's a tip from a New Yorker
1. Get a Metro Card, A single ride cost 2.75
2. Have a Phone (with google maps, because its helpful) or A subway map
3. If you have a phone, Get a NYC Bus and Train time app.
Good tips but I always found transport was pretty good... confusing at first but the swipe.. cards are fun..
Heyooo
I love your video. You actually took your time to explain even how to swipe !
I hope you’re good and happy . Thank you so much

Thank you for your video's. Me, my partner, brother and sister are coming to nyc in November for 2 weeks and I have found your videos very helpful. Was there for a week last year but just ran out of time.
Yes, great info. I was a bit intimidated by the confusion I felt over the subway when I first moved to NY.
Thank you. I'm headed there this week. 🙏
A game with the entire actual subway system that allows players to free roam would be awesome
Like GTA right
It’s called openBVE
Currently waiting at JFK to go back home, stayed here in NYC for 8 days with my wife, I got all my NYC tips from you and John! Thanks so much
Thank you. I'm going to move there soon.

Haha sounds good hit me up on IG!
What about NJ Transit? It is connected to Pennsylvania Station, Hoboken Terminal/Path/Ferry station, PABT, and MTA Subway.
So I will be traveling to NYC soon and I needed some tips. I stumbled to your video and I remember I know this guy from kuya FoodieA!C!!! Thank you so much for this video, it is quite helpful for me.
Great video! How do you remember the video script so perfectly?
Is there any website or app that tells me which routes aren’t included in my MTA unlimited monthly pass, that is, which routes do I need to pay separately in addition to my MTA unlimited monthly pass ?
Planning to take my first trip to NYC this summer. Im a bit scared about the subways since I’m traveling with 2 kids. Whats the best way to get to Brooklyn Bridge from Time square? TIA
I wish I’d have seen this before I went to NYC from the UK last year!
The only way I won’t get lost by coming to NYC through the subways is if I go with my dad lmao 🤣. Love your channel btw and just subscribed.
If you swipe ur metro in the subway do u have to wait to swipe again on a bus?
I did not know about the surge pricing thing! Omg! 😲
Bro. We had only one issue with the Metro Card during the 4th week. It wasn’t complicated going to New Jersey as well. Great vid. I just wish I went to the Hot Dog eating contest for the 4th!!
How about driving in from Arizona with a Van? Is it cheaper parking it in NJ? Lol.
Glad u said that I know I will get lost N.Y. is a large city. I'm moving there for full-time work. Hopefully I'm able to find my way around.
Tal, do a new video about malls in NYC please!!
I’m looking to travel to NYC to visit Coney Island but was wondering does MTA not have day passes where you pay one price and is good from 12am to 12am the following day for unlimited rides on either trains, buses & express? I want to fly into JFK and don’t want to take taxi or uber to get to coney island. I’m use to taking public transportation so it wouldn’t confuse me at all. TIA
The most messy part of the NYC subway is that trains from different routes can arrive at the SAME platform at the station
Fantástico
O my goodness. 🙈 Great info, thanks! Would be quite scary to get lost. 😂
Nahhh you'll make it!
@@TheTravelingClatt Thanks! Blessings 🙏🏻
If you have a phone you’ll be absolutely fine
Our last collab :(
😓
Why?
@@2000konnie Tal moved from New york
Should have mentioned that you can board LIRR in 3 Boroughs(Jamaica in Queens, 34th in Manhattan, Atlantic in Brooklyn)
hi can you hlep me choes hotal or rbne in new york?
Hey come back to Staten Island the mall is open now yay 😁😁😁
I want to ask can the new york subway be called the metro system?
8:25 This is giving me traumatic flashbacks to being a teenager in NYC for the first time and my card would REFUSE to swipe properly, and in the span of like fifteen seconds there was a dozen people lined up behind me yelling at me. I still feel anxiety about swiping my card to this day lmao
Uber and Lyft are _"super super super cheap"_ in NYC? What? Not in my experience. They cost considerably more in NYC than they do in smaller cities.
Really I find the opposite?
Very detailed guide about New York Public Transpo, love it. But why it says "transportion" instead of "transportation" ;)
Can't believe after all these years, I never noticed! I just changed it! Thank you
Thanks bud! Cleared up a lot of the mystery of the New York Public transportation system. I live in California and hope to one day live in San Francisco or New York City. This guide helped me understand the public transportation system in cities. Thanks!!!
To be honest I’m skeptical of taxis, as they tend to leave the meter running and they charge you more than the original price. Or so I’m told.
Sean Price they make you tip them in new york which baffles me.
Yup, Kay Fay, I’m officially sticking with Uber!
Why are there no cameras on the train car?
The color-coding of the train lines denotes the street they travel under while in Manhattan between (generally) 14th Street and 59th Street.
From east to west:
4,5,6 (green): Lexington Avenue
N,Q,R,W (yellow): Broadway to Times Square, then north along Seventh Avenue before turning east
1,2,3 (red): Seventh Avenue to Times Sq, then continuing northwest/north on Broadway
B,D, F, M (orange): Sixth Avenue (also known as Avenue of the Americas)
A, C, E (blue): Eighth Avenue
The reason for the "crisscross" of the 1/2/3 and N/Q/R/W is because Broadway isn't strictly north-south--it starts in the eastern portion of downtown, and starts "meandering" west in midtown, crossing 7th Avenue at Times Sq.
Time out the collars represent the avenue it travels in Mannhattan take the 456 that’s Lexington Avenue line take the NRW that the Broadway lines ACE are the 8th ave lines in midtown Mannhattan
❤❤❤
5:29 'THE COLOUR DOESN'T MEAN MUCH' ???? Of course it does. It tells you what trunk/corridor it is using in Manhattan. Red trains go down Broadway and then at Times Square, down 7th Ave. Green trains go down Lexington Ave., and then at Grand Central station, down Park Ave. Orange is 6th Ave., but Blue is 8th Ave. Each trunk line in Midtown or Downtown Manhattan has a different colour ! Aarre Peltomaa
Fun fact: the Metrocard makes you travel a long distance. From Carmel NY to Tottenville Staten Island. Which is 87 miles apart.
For me, I only managed to learn the Number 1 train running uptown and downtown...that was a brave as I wanted to be for my first trip to NYC. I used LIRR to get to Penn Station from JFK and used it again to go back....the NY Subway system is one of the oldest and most complex subway systems in the world....and yes, the stations range from beautiful and elegant to grungy and awful....but they all have a lot of character and history...whereas the DC Metro by contrast is very plain & utilitarian. I've ridden subway systems in Berlin, Moscow, and Washington DC but none are as sprawling and complex as New York's system.
Where do you buy the card and how much is it?
Vending Machines at each station to get a metro card if you need one. The cost is however much you put on it, plus a dollar fee for each new card.
I would say the most confusing part of NYC subway is the time schedule of trains. Some of them are running local or Express at certain times in a specific part of the line. The map is not designed to provide that information
Pelham Bay Park! Co Op City!
Has anyone used Airbnb? How trustable is it? I’ve read bad reviews using that website .. I’m planning to travel to NYC soon
I'm not sure of you've traveled to NY yet or not... I am leaving for NY in less than 2 weeks. My friend and I plan to stay at an Airbnb. I've used airbnb for the past 4 years wherever I've traveled. It's definitely something you can trust and save a lot of money on. Esp great if you're traveling in a group! It's not sketchy, they also ask for the host and guests to verify a lot of information in regards to the identity and stuff.
I love new York City
2,531st view, 177th like and 60th comment. Whew! For once I am not jealous about being stuck in boring central Illinois and able to drive myself around. Although the AC picked a very poor time to cut out.🥵
@7:10 As an Among Us player, I understand this feeling.
I use my Metro Card for 7 Days for 31$ when i'm in NYC for the last 5 Jears 💪😂 I love this Card 😂 Love greetings from Germany to you 🌸🌸🌸🕊🇩🇪
You forgot one train line the W, and the express bus is 675 and is not covered by the unlimited card
There's literally maps on the subway and it tells you what the transfers are at every stop.
I’m going to New York I’m November and i been watching your channel every day !
Swiping the metro card isn’t that hard :D but the lines are really confusing.
4:47 W?
Where is the love JFK AirTrain?
And what about Roosevelt Island Tram?
When going to Staten Island you get a free transfer to the Staten Island railroad
👍👍
My best bet to get around is the subway and metro bus. It's the cheapest.
Hey no love for the W train ..
Thank you for sharing! Jesus loves you 🙏☺️
You should've included the free transfers, bus to bus, bus to train, train to bus on a single fare within 2 hours
The NYC Subway system is one of the most complicated metro's to navigate because of it's antiquated and nonsensical numbering and lettering. In almost every other metro in the world, one looks for "the red line" or "Line 1" and then makes chooses the direction based on the name of the last stop. Even locals get confused.
Je ne savais pas que tu es d'origine de l'île Maurice !!
London is a century ahead of New York City.
Living in London my whole 44 years of life. I have seen the investment that is put into the system.
Billions are poured into the London underground by TFL Transport for London.
But New York City, has been neglected for generations. The image of New York's train's is very tatty.
New York city's mayor's and governors greed has led to the downfall of the city's transport system.
When traveling in New York, it feels as if they are stuck in a time frame from the past.
Very very sad
Darn, last time I was in NY back in 2006 the Metro card for a week was $21. I wonder how much is now since this video is over 2 years old.
38$ I'm going in june
