NZR need to change that rule. I remember the 2008 top 4 final between De La Salle and Hamilton Boys 6-6. De La Salle won cause they kicked the 1st penalty. These young men don’t train and play all season to be knocked out from a draw.
That is credited as a draw. They split the title.
@@BodgeAttack my point is even though that’s a draw Napier still go through. Which is even worse. I get that cause of age group level they don’t want them playing 80mins but why not? These young men are fitter than most club teams that play 80mins.
@@goldenchild19 yeah it is an odd one that doesn't really make sense. I only realized the other day that they are not allowed to push in the scrum by more than 1.5m or they get penalized. Lots of sports do it as well for some reason. Like in college basketball the 3point line is closer. Why?
@@BodgeAttack so true. That 1.5m rule has been going around for the last 20years at least. I’d be dirty if I were St Pats
Yes a hate draws they should introduce golden point
Oli Cuff great game mate, you guys played really well. A draw is never fun & worse when the other team goes through? I feel for youse here in Dunedin 👊🇳🇿
0:41 You're welcome buddy
Some interesting calls for both sides. Pedestrian officiating for a game of this importance, especially at the scrum and breakdown.
The uniforms are the same colours. Rugby could make huge improvements with the sensible use of away uniforms
these are high schools, not pro teams.
Didn’t that kicker know he had to hurry up his kick to get another kickoff??🤦🏽.
Probably didn't know the rules properly
@@benhounsell7170 where are your trainers when you need them? Lol or the coaches?
Why wasnt the Auckland schoolboy final on this channel
It was
Another dumb nzr rule, why would they allow a draw and points count back for these knockout stages? The old dinosaurs running nz rugby are killing the game by sticking to these old rules
No extra time?!
At that age group it is not allowed to play more than 70min. Napier Boys win because they've scored more tries. That's what I read somewhere else.
@@pimpeldanona nah they scored the same amount of tries. Napier went through because they scored the first try
@@slau330 napier scored 3 and stream scored 2
Napier boys were juicing
🤣
Wrap your head around this logic.
A 68kg fifteen year old can get poleaxed by a 155kg nineteen year old repeater. But god forbid that fifteen year old play one second over 70.0 minutes!!!
Absolutely idiotic from World Rugby and NZR. These big Polynesians already have the advantage of biological maturity and body size, let the European kid utilise his one advantage in fitness.
what are you talking about?
@@slau330 That you can have age and weight disparities which can jeopardize player safety much more than playing extra time, its not that difficult.
Ethnicities have nothing to do with that example, settle down champ
@@dan812 he still didn't need to talk about polynesians, just cause we're bigger genetically doesn't define who the better individual is, and a lot of polynesians are just as fit as 'European' kids.
@@content9559 I never commented on the racial element, just his overall point, so im not sure why you're projecting that onto me when I never said anything like that
