Wow, Jim! That card fits perfectly into your collection. I’m glad the seller started to negotiate and it worked out. It’s a beautiful card. Thanks for sharing the research you did on the card. Just fantastic, Jim!
first of all congratulations on an extremely rare and historical card!!!You're right I've never seen this card before.. I would expect nothing less in your collection than a card of this total uniqueness and rarity. what makes the card even more special is the story that goes along with it. The stories behind the cards are as or more interesting than the cards themselves I'm sure you would agree.. thanks for showing it to us! health and happiness to you Jim.. your good friend..... Jonathan..aka the Boston kid
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment! I completely agree with you, cards are awesome but when there’s a story to go along with them they are that much more fun! I hope all is well!
Thanks so much David! I really appreciate your comment and support! I am beyond stoked to have added this card to my collection! Have a great weekend my friend!
Jim !!! Man I just absolutely freaking love this card and all the info you added with it 🤯 . I would absolutely love to have a copy of this card holy smokes. Really love it 🤩👊🤙🤙
💥 What an AMAZING card! Include me in the 99 percent that has never seen this card 😂 Congrats on the pickup and with the negotiations! I'm super impressed with you being able to read the card 👏 Well done, Sir
Thanks so much Dre! I feel blessed to be able to add a card from Ruth and Gherig’s playing days to the collection! So stoked! 😁 I really appreciate your comment and support! I hope you and the Mrs have an awesome holiday weekend!
Congrats on the addition to the collection. Nice card and story behind the moment captured. Poor Lou didn’t get a mention on the card. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Diego! I’m really happy to have this card in the collection! I guess Lou wasn’t too popular over in Japan but we sure do know him here in the US! 😁 I appreciate you watching! Have a great weekend!
Hey Jim, I had to watch this video a second time. Count me in the group who hasn’t seen it before. Nice of Rick to help you pin down a ballpark value. Good to wait out until the deal is right. What a fun and historical photo. It captures the fun and zaniness of both Ruth and the era. Very cool. As great as Gehrig was, Ruth with the power of his personality was bigger than the game. He was a force. Have a great weekend!
Hi Terry! I am really thrilled to add this card to the collection. It checks all the boxes for me and there’s something about the rare and hard to find cards that really gets me excited! LOL! I agree, Ruth was quite a showman! It seems like it would have been such a fun event to attend! I hope you’re having an awesome weekend!
Congrats on such an awesome pickup, Jim. Good to hear the process of how you got it. Definitely my first time seeing it. Really great piece of history really. I appreciate the backstory and you taking the time to translate it. Can’t believe they didn’t mention Gehrig on the card. He was as close to Ruth as anyone back then. Thanks for sharing it, Jim!
Hi Hugo! I think Ruth was just such a showman and his popularity really was international. The Japanese really idolized him. Thanks for watching! I hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend!
Hi Jim. What an incredible card and story of how you got the card. I have never heard or seen that card. Congrats on picking up a real gem. Thanks for sharing my friend and we`ll talk soon pal.

Congratulations, Jim. It's not everyday that you can acquire a vintage Ruth and Gehrig on one card. REA has a 20% buyers premium! Thanks for background of this historic card! Good Collecting👍👍💗💗
Very nice Ruth. Quite a few examples have been sold at auctions. On the Sheets and singular. Leland and Heritage had examples awhile back. Robert sold one in his auction last year as well. They were distributed in 4 card panels on sheets in the August issue Magazine of King. That's a beauty. Congratulations on your pickup.
Really happy to have this card in the collection! These and the panels come up for sale from time to time but not very often. Thanks so much for taking some time to check out the video and leaving a comment! I appreciate it!
Wow! Amazing card Jim of two of the greatest legends of the game! Thank you for sharing the story of the photo too, that card is a piece of history! Love it! And great translation, didn’t know you knew Japanese?

Thanks Gannon! So happy with this pickup! It checks all the boxes for me and I really love the hard to find stuff! If you check out the John Fogarty video for the song Centerfield, it’s a great video but at around the 2:41 mark it shows video footage from when the photo was taken of Ruth climbing onto the car and grabbing ahold of the bull horns. @@PickerJimS I also don't have that Jack Glasscock card. Labor day was ok Friday dark and cloudy Saturday sat outside by the pool life guards said the water is freezing, sunday it rained watched some videos. How was your Labor day weekend did you go to the Cape?
I had a great weekend. Was out on the Cape, spent a good part of the day at the beach Saturday, it was nice. Went to Provincetown Sunday, walked around the town, went to the shops and then had a really nice dinner. Monday we just relaxed at the house. Went back to CT Monday night.
