Arkanoid: Doh It Again is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System game released by Taito in 1997 in Japan, and by Nintendo in Australia, the US, and the UK. It was developed as a sequel to the original 1986 arcade release of Arkanoid.

Though Breakout originated this formula with ball paddle and bricks, I always felt Arkanoid refined and perfected it. Can't go wrong with an Arkanoid game if you like fun games.
This is like the only game I’ve seen done in this style with boss battles really enjoyed this one.
Crackout for the NES had boss battles I believe.
I played this with my dad so many times I still remember every level.
The level editor was cool also.

I used to play this game all the time at my friends house back when I was a kid. I now bought it online to add to my retro collection. This version of the game was very fun but the arcade one is awesome as well.
Yo recuerdo este juego con mucho cariño cuando lo jugaba en las maquinitas de $50 centavos, nunca lo termine ahí, pero ahora que ya lo tengo desde hace tiempo en mi SNES, debo admitir que fue un final bastante satisfactorio los 99 niveles completos y no se diga en dificultad difícil jeje.
This is one of the last US SNES releases, they could have instead made it for the Game Boy Advance years later, it would have been a launch title in Japan.

This version is better than Arcade version
There is no arcade version of this one, this one is an SNES/SFC exclusive. You are thinking of the first 2 games which saw ports on the NES (the first game only), and the first and second were on Famicom.

My pure nostalgia
You can totally do a magic eye on the second stage's background.
I think it's one of the best Arkanoid versions I've ever knew - Great graphics (pixel work, effects, layers), great soundtrack and sound, a much more detailed story, very nice design at every layout, but... the game is too slow!!! A little more fast and it would be perfect, for me... just for me.
Once the ball picks up speed, it gets frantic. Pretty much every Arkanoid game starts out slow, but will have you pulling your hair out unless you use the SNES mouse, or your own mouse in an emulator, or play the first 2 on their original arcade cabinets with the spinner knob. Taito might've also programmed it a bit slower as it's not an arcade machine, ready to eat your quarters, happened a lot when arcade games came home, they often brought the difficulty down for home consoles.

I remember I played this with my dad and one day he bet $50 that I couldn't beat round 35 or 45 I can't remember exactly but I beat the round and he never paid me.
Amazing super nintendo game
Who would have thought that the theme of Arkanoid was environmentalism? Such a common theme, for post apocalyptic societies that abandon Earth. I hope their population is higher than 18, because they are going to need more genetic diversity than that to survive long term.

And the hard tip, this game was 99 rounds. And ever you played after 2 hours. Good job. But, at round 33 and 66, the credits is on, but we're not done yet. Round 99 is end now.

Man this game is sooo sloooow.
Arkanoid isn't meant to be fast, till the ball picks up speed. And on this game, like the other games in the series, the ball starts slow, and picks up speed rapidly, only slowing back down if you pick up the S capsule. This game is also aimed for a home market, and Taito knew this wouldn't eat quarters at home, so they may have intentionally slowed the game down. Arcade ports (which this isn't) often knocked difficulty down because the goal of the game wasn't to get quarters, but to get your moneys worth out of the game, companies knew they were only going to get a person's money for a game once, and not repeatedly like arcade machines.

The only Arkanoid games with background music are the latter ones, Arkanoid Returns arcade/PS1, and Arkanoid Plus/Neo on the more modern consoles.

+Slayer3915 Sorry dude can't agree, it all come down to how the game developers worked with the hardware. If someone good worked with a game, it could sound great, if the devs weren't known for quality, the music would suffer. Same with the sound effects. And also, what were you expecting from a ball and paddle game, symphonic tunes? Genesis and SNES could put out some great music, just remember, it all depends on whose hands the game fell into.

I don't need anyone to agree! SNES has terrible stereo and sounds muffled. Not as scratchy as the Genesis, but definitely not as clean. If you wanna tell me I'm wrong about MY EXPERIENCE, go buy or borrow a model 1 Sega Genesis and Vectorman 1, plug in headphones to the system. Give it a listen for an hour or two, and THEN come back & tell me about how your opinion somehow makes me wrong.
I have a model 1, I have headphones, and I have the game. I'm open minded about systems and how they sound. I'm not 1 sided at all. Your experience and mine will not be the same, but you can not tell me every Genesis game had good sound, like I can't tell you every SNES game has good sound. I'll say it one more time, it is all about who's hands were on the game when it was made that makes a world of difference.
