Finally get to see this again after 15 years, thank you! Coming home from school as an 11 year old, watching this on telly; who would have thought we'd be here 15 years later and the Redbacks with nothing more in the cabinet but spoons and mothballs!
14:02 Seeing Jamie Siddons lift up the Sheffield Shield for South Australia made up for the pain of copping an inning and 101 run thumping at the hands of Queensland in the 1994 - 95 Sheffield Shield final.
Nic Vaudrey just looking at those teams, WA had 8 past or future test players in their XI (Hussey, Langer, Martyn, Moody, Gilchrist, Julian, Angel, Hogg), SA had 5 (Lehmann, Blewett, May, Gillespie, McIntyre) plus Jamie Siddons who had played 1 ODI and Shane George played for Australia A 2 years earlier. Loaded across the board. In the end it was the balls absorbed in the SA 2nd dig that were the difference, Blewett scored 72 off 275, Punce Brayshaw had 66 off 129, Siddons 4 off 134, May scored a 52 ball duck, and McIntyre and George faced 75 between them (not all together). I doubt the current Australian team would ever bat like that to save a game and win a trophy.
@Sturt16 Channel 9 Adelaide (NWS 9) used to broadcast the SA games from the Adelaide Oval. I remember when the SACA had their "Dollar Days", the Sunday of a shield match adults got in for $1 and kids under 15 in for free. They got some decent crowds back in the 90s with this but for some reason it stopped.....pity really.

Siddons 4 from 130 odd balls. Amazing innings
I skipped school (Adelaide High School) to watch the last day and got caught on TV by the news lol
It was still worth it
@Holden308 They should bring back those dollar days as these days crowds rarely exceed 500 people.
So many great players in this game

Great performance back when SA had a competitive team.

Since this day, the Redbacks have been a poster of ineptness
