SWFL Eagles ~ E18 Hits A New Milestone ~ Hops To Porch For The First Time! 😊 4.16.21

- E18 is on the veranda and goes out further on the branch and does some wingercising and then comes back down to the nest and hops over onto the porch for the first time! That is another milestone that E18 has hit today and one step closer to branching to the attic and fledging!! E18 is excited and does some flapping on the porch and hops back to the nest and back to the porch!! Well done E18!
E17 is up on the treetop perch and ends up roosting there for the evening! Mom and Dad are both on the outer attic tonight and E18 hops back to the nest to sleep! Stay tuned as all eyes will be on E18 for a possible fledge this weekend! Thank you for watching!

it looks like E18 is getting used to his/her bigger body, stretching, lifting, flapping, missing a step here and there and scratching his head about it all. it's so amazing to see how big they are and that they were once on the verge of not making it one way or the other. Thanks to CROW and their firmly persistent and cooperative parents. it's a hero's journey!

I enjoy watching the difference between the E's and Legacy on the wingersizing and hopping on the nest. The E's are quiet while Legacy squeals with delight as she is wingerziing , hopping and getting a little floating up.

that was so sweet when one of the parents flew to the other one from their observation perches higher in the tree and seemed to kiss and congratulate each other on the success of their fledglings. Good job Mom & Dad!

I'm looking forward to their pond visit most of all! I loved watching E15 and E16 hopping around and rumbling by the waters edge! I get the feeling we will see these two do the same very soon! Hopefully the weather is nice out there for E18 to get her exploring on!
I'm expecting a lot of comedy from their antics around the pond. If I was a pre-teen eaglet, I would harass the horses a little bit.

This nest and property are the perfect place raise these babies. Seems like yesterday they were being treated for their eye infection. If only the Owls would move on. It’s time to fly my beautiful birds.

I’m just really glad we hv cams set up to watch them from birth til they fledge from home . Watching E17 sitting up there so proudly is exciting but a reminder he’s about to go go go! These 2 hv really touched my heart this yr. Wow & just watching E18 get so excited it’s made it to the porch! Hurray!! The general consensus is E 17 (due to her larger size & dominance) is a female & E 18 is a male. Can't be 100% sure at this point in life, but that's been the best guess.
