- Aztec Camera - walk out to winter, live London may 13th 1983.
Aztec Camera were a Scottish pop/new wave band founded by Roddy Frame, the group's singer, songwriter, and only consistent member. Formed in 1980, Aztec Camera released a total of six studio albums: High Land, Hard Rain (1983), Knife (1984), Love (1987), Stray (1990), Dreamland (1993), and Frestonia (1995). The band garnered popular success for the songs "Oblivious", "Somewhere in My Heart", and "Good Morning Britain" (a duet with former Clash guitarist Mick Jones). Recorded on TDK VHS videotape at SP, mono audio, from the G&M collection box

Hi Steevee, good evening Sir.... further investigation required....cool...❤️✌️👍Xx
Oh, to be 19 again... Pure talent
..miss 80's miss Aztec Camera
The Guitar technique and chord structure in this song are beautiful.
The fact that Roddy Frame developed this level of musicality is awe inspiring.
Great work.
Superb song , the best of Scottish pop music
Thanks...have been talking about the good days of music recently to people , work or in the pub.......80s and 90s the best...thanks to all the performers and bands !!!!!

Of their big three hits ….. this is my favourite….👏👏👏
What a gem of a song, makes me miss the 80's.
Thanks for watching and commenting
I saw Aztec Camera open for Elvis Costello on the "Punch The Clock" tour in September 1983 at the Universal Amphitheater in LA. Great show! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Remember buying the 7 inch & playing it over & over.
Love the bassline of this tune, what great musicians. All the gear used in this video is sweet too, was not expecting to see a Fairlight digital synthesizer, too cool.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@ScottishTeeVee Pure 80's gold, thanks for posting:)
Outstanding
Johnny Marr said this song spurred him on to write This Charming Man but I could never hear it, just a very uplifting melody and lyric.
You can hear it in the jangly Chic guitar bits, not the song itself. Also the end of the guitar solo is very similar, it’s in there.
This is class, thanks for sharing, I'm ready to walk out to a scottish winter again, this is the theme.
I'm glad you found and enjoyed this Martin
Thanks for finding and posting this!
Did Geordie Walker know the whereabouts of his Gibson ES-295 that day?

Seen them in Glasgow
OMFG

so special
Just the tiniest snippet of Bauhaus at the start of this - if memory serves me well… I had this on VHS, I think it was an OGWT compilation show, and their live version of Ziggy Stardust preceded this performance. Or am I misremembering?!
You are correct, it was a Best of the year show, which ran for about 90mins, I recorded the full show and still have it all. It was also the very last time the original theme tune was used, as the theme song change and was rebranded as "Whistle Test"
@@ScottishTeeVee I also remember a Joni Mitchell performance near the Bauhaus/Aztec Camera clips.
Always say it, but keep up the good work - excellent channel!
Crikey, look at young Mark Ellen at the end of this! He and David Hepworth's Word In Your Ear is well worth the time spent.
Nice to see you really did watching until the very end. I never knew that David and Mark had a YT channel and podcast, I'm just checking it out right now, thanks for the tip Kev.
ボビーギレスピーみたいなロディがかっこよかったね。
Is that a Fairlight CMI in the opening shot?
yup
😃
