It was useful for us because there are 5 prayers a day - all at different times of day and have small windows in which we pray or it’s invalid. So yes it was needed when you are a working individual- or busy in general. But guess we don’t need it after this scandal.

the app doesn't really work if you opt out of location permissions as it needs to know location to work, so people can't opt out. The app creators are selling the users data to US gov't. It's really disgusting behavior on the part of the app creators.
Data from anybody who uses this app (data being emails, phone number, date of birth, location, contacts) is being sold to us military (who are known to be very harmful to the Muslim community). the app owners are being called out for putting these people at risk and not taking responsibility

prayer time are based on the position of the sun hence the app require your live location.Plus,it also used for the qiblat-direction to the kaaba in Mecca.So why would we have to feel suspicious to dload the app at the first place?

You don’t need an app to tell you when to pray. From my understanding, the guy that made the app wasn’t Muslim anyway! Make it make sense.
It was useful for us because there are 5 prayers a day - all at different times of day and have small windows in which we pray or it’s invalid. So yes it was needed when you are a working individual- or busy in general. But guess we don’t need it after this scandal.

How can we use a stick to know the prayer times here. It’s November in the U.K. and the shadow is like twice as long as the stick during solar noon. So zhuhr time the sun is only 20degrees high so what are u going to do. This isn’t arabia

The time of asr is when the shadow of the stick is same length as the erected stick. Twice shadow length to hanafis
Time of Magreb is when the sun sets. Not during setting. When it completely sets below the horizons
The time of ishaa is when the sky is fully dark according to hanafi. Or very dark blue colour according to other school of thoughts
The time of fajr is when the sky is like a white thread. Meaning that when that around 1 hour before sunrise or 1 and half hours. In some places. When the sky is blue ish white is when fajr time is up. But different school of thoughts pray differently. Some people pray fajr when it is completely black sky and this is nonsense. You must use your eyes to see the white thread that the prophet talked about

In Germany I use Mawaqit, it shows me the prayer times of most mosques in my city. I've chosen my favorite mosque and the prayer times are way more precise than Muslim pro

the app doesn't really work if you opt out of location permissions as it needs to know location to work, so people can't opt out. The app creators are selling the users data to US gov't. It's really disgusting behavior on the part of the app creators.
Data from anybody who uses this app (data being emails, phone number, date of birth, location, contacts) is being sold to us military (who are known to be very harmful to the Muslim community). the app owners are being called out for putting these people at risk and not taking responsibility
