He sure know how to manage his breath to sustain notes and tone quality..pure raw talent!
From what I've gathered, he watched, listened & studied the music he heard, saw on TV - as well as doing karaoke later on too. He found he could switch his voice when he was 18 years old while singing to the chickens he cared for to make money.
This is all out on the net, his past has been so intense... his journey has been incredible so far & I'm sure will continue to be amazing.

Nina , seeing that you are a vocal coach , the fact that you have done your research , makes you worthy of proceeding to him and ask him you could not be his vocal coach but ,his manager as well. It's a win win for you, and you can;t lose anything , it;s worth a try.....the man's voice is worth millions !!!

The thing he does at the end people think he is yawning or getting a breath, it is actually him spitting out the female entity that he believes enters his body when sings as a female, he closes his eyes and bows his head. But what a guy pure perfection, to be self taught is incredible, you gave a great reaction one of the best i have seen, well done. 👍
You should watch him just goofing around at home with his karaoke machine and just killing the songs...and he was slaying the songs. In his living room in t shirt and shorts as family members went about their business, like “oh, Marcelito is just practicing for his next concert...no big deal” LOL
