TItleist MB and P730 blades are 35°, Mizuno and Callaway MB 34°, this is 33°. Strongest muscle back on the market. Same loft as Apex Pro 7 iron this year. Also a big fan of the VT sole. Nice longer blade, Endo forged. I think this is reasonable blade when it comes to playability.
Great review! As you said if anyone isn't hitting the middle consistently then any blade is going to be a challenge. That said, I've tried different blades before and these are by the far most inviting to hit. I won't say they're the easiest because you just need to hit the ball in the middle for these to work whereas with more forgiving irons you can survive with a mis-hit here and there. However, these aren't nearly as intimidating as other blades. I love that the numbers are so true.
I just got fitted on Friday play off 12.5 and went in with a complete open mind and walked out ordering a set of these. They gave the best numbers and just felt so pure. Can't wait to get them
Mate of mine has the Z965s and they are simply GORGEOUS! These look amazing too. Srixon make some of the very best forged clubs on the planet.... And great value for your money 👍
Ordered 785 ... those got delayed for long cause my shaft wasn't available ... meanwhile those come out ... so i changed my order for Z-Forged from looks alone and decided to work with it when it arrives.... STILL hasn't .. now 7 weeks later BUT i've tried it at the shop on GC QUAD ... and am not losing distance at all... accuracy is crazy good and shot shaping is a dream. NOW i wait ... nearly sleepless nights counting days ... grrrr ;) :D ANYWAYS.... love ur videos as always buddy.
Just bought mine today! C Taper 130 X shafts. On the launch monitor was flying my 7 iron about 180 carry. Amazing feel for blades. I'll miss my old Taylormade TP MB's but just a stunning difference in the feel.
A 919 Tour v Z Forged video is needed. I am not good enough to play these type of clubs but I was amazed at just how easy the 919 Tour 7i was to hit. If the Z forged is as easy to hit even I would consider a blended set
Great review.... I have been using these Z-Forged blades for about 3 weeks. Spot on review. Great feel and look even better in person. My first attempt at a par 3 I could actually feel how you are in control of the ball flight as apposed to a cavity type iron. It is surprisingly forgiving and correctly said, it’s quite a big blade in term of blade length which I think helps with the forgiveness. Haven’t played for just over 10years and used to use a set of MP32’s back then, these are a lot more forgiving, and great value for money! Think you might not have pulled those shots left with a slightly thicker grip? :) good job!
Beautiful club I wish I could hit them but I need to stay with the Z5 series I wish there was a review on Z545 vs Z585 and which one is better.. not many have switched and when you look at the pros a lot of them are still playing their Z745 irons...
Robert Salazar most tour players don’t hit toe side of center. All the newer Srixon irons are 1mm shorter heel to toe and the true center of gravity moves about 1 mm to toe as well. All the pros basically switched as of this month. Hideki played the z forged to shoot the 63s, Keegan is playing the z and Shane and jb have been playing them all year
Fab looking iron Mike. Had my eye on these since they were launched and looking to try them as soon as they are released in the UK. Hopefully my striking is good enough (5h’cap) and can ‘upgrade’ from my 745s. Just feel like I want to play a blade! 😀
I just went back to blades, bought the z965....was playing mp20 mmc and while 170 yard 8 iron is cool the 20 yard drop off isn’t...I’ll give up 10 yards for consistency
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Actually no. You just get used to looking down at something for years and expect to see the same thing. I love these Z Forged irons.
As a 765 user, I must say they look excellent, however I cannot see myself currently changing irons as I have been playing to my 6 handicap consistently since purchasing same.
@michaelnewtongolf Nice review ... I am curious your opinion versus the COBRA MB ... The golf balls you hit with COBRA MBs were spinning back a lot ... not with SRIXON blades ...
Spin number similar to cobra, Simulator software different now Since cobra video and doesn’t seem to show to spin when hitting the green. The numbers are more important than a simulated green 👍
I have been looking for somewhere to go and try these and nowhere seems to have them. I know places that sell srixon, but they don’t seem to stock these. Are they out in the UK yet? If not, when are they coming out? Anyone know?
that's a beautiful iron. But as far as "players iron"? I learned o a set of Titleist tour blades (about 1987). No help but a load of feedback. I'm a better player today because I learned to hit middle instead of asking my clubs to correct my swing faults. Frustrating? Yes, but well worth it.
Cheers Mike. I was wondering if they're making the A wedge in this model. I know they are doing a 785 AW (gap) version at 51 degs..so whether the Z forged had similar? Thanks.
Thanks for another terrific review. Can you do a comparison with the Apex Forged Pro? Would be interesting to hear your feedback on differences in forgiveness.
Srixon is very underrated
for me~ starting with 45 series in 2013, srixon is making the best iron on the planet... no doubt
Beautiful golf club, the current srixon range can compete with any other brands

Yet another superb looking Iron from Srixon and this one is just Stunning!

Mine just came in the mail today. I'll be taking them out Sunday

Michael.. nobody shows irons at the start like you do.. these are flipping beautiful. Wow. Great reviews btw

Always love the 120 plus ball speed with the 7 iron!
Finally sorted out sharing the Foresight screen!!! 🙌🏾 It’s been the only let down of your vids, glad to see this come along. Keep it up! ⛳️🏌🏾♂️
Mike great review as always. Could you compare these to 965 set ?
I just bought a set to replace me z965...most forgiving blade on the market
Best irons! just got fitted. Way better feeling and consistency than the
big brands.
A club that solves all of my problems, eh mate? :)
Yea, I'll take one of those! Very nice looking club.
Great video Michael, as always.
FInally got that direct feed from the Foresight screen, instead of videoing with a camera! Nice!
I know, it’s taken long enough! 🤦♂️
Are you noticing the Quad is a good upgrade over the GC2?
Numbers are the same, just has extra nice features and the sim software is better
Great looking iron. Most JDM irons are beautiful. Would be nice to see other JDM products Muira, Yonex, Epon, Fourteen, etc....
Just put them into the bag...hit 8/9 greens first time out
Lovely looking clubs as usual from Srixon. 👍🏻😁⛳️
Yea I love these irons I just have to get them lofts a little bit weaker but unbelievable feel. Great video
Nice work Michael.
Michael, can you do a comparison between the Z Forged and the new MP 20 MBs?

Defo try them John

I am already playing a set with the Modus 120 X shaft. Only gripe is the head is a touch larger than my Mizuno's I love the sole.
Is that a bad thing?
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Actually no. You just get used to looking down at something for years and expect to see the same thing. I love these Z Forged irons.
I would call this the Jennifer Lawrence of irons. Beautiful but way out of my league.
Lol dude
True
As a 765 user, I must say they look excellent, however I cannot see myself currently changing irons as I have been playing to my 6 handicap consistently since purchasing same.
stunning!
Bought myself these bad boys, very nice.
Long irons are very unforgiving, you have to hit them dead centre else they will punish you really hard.

How do you find these compared to the wilson’s you currently have - would you change?
Can you mention what shaft are you using?
Nippon Modus 120 Stiff

BK wrote "... I learned to hit middle instead of asking my clubs to correct my swing faults. Frustrating? Yes, but well worth it" PREACH!!!
Yes! That's what I love about playing blades! I like knowing that I made the good shot,or that I made the bad one.
Mike..do you know if they're making this more lofted than PW..as in their AW model (51 degrees or so)?
The PW loft is 46
Cheers Mike. I was wondering if they're making the A wedge in this model. I know they are doing a 785 AW (gap) version at 51 degs..so whether the Z forged had similar? Thanks.
Has the price been released for these Mike?
Not sure on the price tbh Stuart
The last irons were expensive so I can’t see these being any different 🤨
Were they? Srixon have always produced the best value Forged Irons compared to other brands
@@MichaelNewtonGolf I agree not sure what clubs he's comparing the price to, but as you said very reasonable price for forged clubs.
stuartjames1971 that’s depending upon what you consider is expensive I guess?
Thanks for another terrific review. Can you do a comparison with the Apex Forged Pro? Would be interesting to hear your feedback on differences in forgiveness.
Wow
Same price as the mp18 - which do you prefer?
As an Endo forging, these are softer than Mizuno's new Grain Flow HD, which is firmer than traditional Mizuno. Longer blade on these. More playable.
@@station2station544 Yes. Newer Mizunos are to firm. Srixon is now the iron kings. Endo forging is great.
Long time Mizzy guy- but now Srixon.
put them in the bag!
Saw this is person first time today. Not appealing to the eye at all
