5:46 "... that scream of the soul..." Very vivid and powerful description. 6:37 - 7:11 Yes, that's exactly it -- essentially, vicious circles of pain that ripple out from ourselves to others. Vicious cycles and patterns. I work with families in crisis and I just began working with a family yesterday that is a perfect representation of this. The sins of the father (and the mother) passed down from generation to generation, repeating the pattern in each generation, and then it gets spread out to others like a malformed cancer of dysfunction. From the outside, one can see it so clearly. Sometimes, we can also see it in ourselves. The challenge then is to break that cycle -- but you are not just breaking a cycle within your own life, you are breaking generational or societal cycles. That can take strength beyond strength -- but it can be done. Sometimes, though, the pain beats us rather than us beating it. Layne Staley. Chris Cornell. Chester Bennington. It could be said that they all spoke to us through screams of the soul, before they fell silent. Their art helped others, even if it wasn't enough to save them. The comments one will read under the original videos for songs like this, are a testament to that. You understood this song perfectly upon just one listen, and I like how you refer to the music as art, right at the beginning. Music is indeed a form of art, but I feel like you give it a deeper level of respect by referring to it as art. There are many other good songs by Linkin Park, and I look forward to any additional songs you may react to in the future by this band.
Ethan I agree there songs probably helped many people, I suppose I was a little quick to assume Ash meant she had issues mentally. I just feel for everyone who has to deal with major problems mentally I’ve had friends and family take there own life and I just hope people can talk to someone and feel better!
I love how you felt the song. Damn near all of us who heard this the first time when it came out was singing it by the end of the song. Also, thank you for actually getting the message. Too many people try to put too much into it. It’s simple and to the point.
Such a great song. If you wanna see his energy, watch Given up live in Milton Keynes, you really won't regret it. Sadly Chester killed himself a few years ago and he is sincerely missed.
Yeah.. Linkin Park were playing at a festival here in Sweden. There were so many that wanted to attend to their concert and I couldnt bare standing in all those queues. I said to my friend "I will go back to the camp, there will be more times to see Linkin Park live". Not that long after he commited suicide. So not going on that concert is one of my biggest regrets in life. Rest in peace Chester!
VIS Mong I know I read about that recently. Chris Cornell was making a documentary on human trafficking, then while in the making still he suddenly commits “suicide”. he was murdered! Him, Chester, avicii and more too.

You described this song so perfectly and this fits how I've been feeling for a long time but now I've become distant and keeping my life a secret from most people. Chester Bennington sings like a angel and screams like a demon RIP 🖤🤘🏻
I've studied Linkin Parks Lyrics and identified with him from day one. I believe Chester Bennington / Chris Cornell / Kurt Cobain all became martyrs for people like me to live & know there's someone else out there who understands. ( but capturing those feelings in Art and reliving them everytime you play i think is very dangerous) I can see a word like " Numb " can effect you and bring you down.. for me it's more agreeable and great gym music. Keep up the great work.. P.S Please do a NIRVANA song or KORN 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼😜
I'm sorry, your absolutely gorgeous lol. Your reaction was also pure and much appreciated from a rock fan. Your accent is memorizing tho lol! Def subbing🤣🤣❤🤙
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, I hope you will react to more songs by them. Great songs to start with are 'Somewhere I Belong' 'Crawling' and 'Pushing Me Away. Amazing live performances are 'Wish' (NIN cover), QWERTY and Chester's cover of Adelle's 'Rolling In The Deep'. I remember seeing a live video where Chester went to jump off a higher part of the stage, missed his landing and broke his wrist. They taped it up and finished the show, those folks always played their hearts out and loved their fans.
Thank-you Yulia for Linkin Park reaction. I first heard (saw)LP on MTV in late 90's(2000).Wasn't really sure if what I was hearing was real or contrived so I bought "Meteora"album and it helped me get through tough time in my life. Chester's pain was exposed in his lyrics.Really lost a great singer, songwriter but at least we still have the music. 🤘
I love that you care about what your reacting too. You always breakdown every aspect of the song, and you seem very genuine about what your feeling! Please stay you. Cause your awesome!!!😉❤
I enjoy how you breakdown the song meanings & can relate to it! Always be singing in your reaction videos, I think that is a game changer as well! Never a dull moment Yuliya, always inspiring me! Great video as usual! 🪐🪐🪐 I was never big on LP though I can definitely respect their talent & songwriting. I think for me, when they came out I had already turned that page in my life so I didn’t feel it deep in my soul. What a shame he also fell to all the trappings of fame & fortune, being a rock star isn’t easy. Depression is real. 🙌🏻
Linkin Park made rap and rock but not in this song, if you want rap and rock in one music, you should listen Faint and Bleed it Out ! Those songs are amazing ! PS: You're reaction and your analyzes are always great !
The rapper is Mike Shinoda. He takes a role as lead singer in a few songs as well, and has a rap group called Fort Minor. He's the main lyricist and composer of the band and some would consider the band leader. Chester had two other bands called Grey Daze and Dead by Sunrise, where he performed post-grunge and alternative rock. He was also in Stone Temple Pilots for a few years after Scott Weiland.
Actually, many of their first songs are half rock, half rap, but Numb isn't one of them. You should react to 'In The End' (easy way, it's like one of their poppiest song), 'Papercut' or 'Figure.09'. By the way, if you like 80's hard rock like Skid Row, why wouldn't you react to a 'Moscow Calling' by the russian band Gorky Park ?
I am so glad I watched your reaction video to this song. You show an understanding about the message that the band is giving us. You are more insightful than most of the reaction videos I've seen. I congratulate you for your wisdom.
I do like how in their songs they start out with a kind of mix of hip hop, rap, and then hit you hard with a huge, heavy dose amount of Nirvana type alternative rock. A kind of pent up world of rage, hurt, tears explodes comes out.
For someone who does not know much at all about some bands, you have a very intuitive, almost empathic feeling towards the song and what they may mean. You might be correct on some view points or off on some but your reactions are yours and they are expressive. I appreciate that and never stray away from that feeling. Very good reaction, thank you.
A Place for My Head (live in Texas) is a really great song for the full rap rock Linkin Park experience. The live version is special for more pronounced vocals from Chester and the instrumentation is very unique. It's incredible and I know it's definitely something you will appreciate.

Kurt, Layne, Mike Starr, Chris and yes before Chester was in Linkin park he started a grunge band called Grey Dayz so he is part of the grunge tragedies.. Eddie Vedder being close friends to most of these men I don't know how he's still going but I'm so glad he is.. he's the only original grunge vocalist we have left.. I hope one day I will get to see Pearl Jam because if I was to see AIC, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Linkin Park it wouldn't be the same.. it's such a shame that this beautiful music style and its meaning is cursed

I saw them live twice. Once they were on the Summer of Sanitarium Tour with Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park & Metallica and I really didn't listen to them that much, but after that show I went out and bought Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Then saw them again two years later in Nashville headlining but I didn't enjoy that second show near as much. By then, they were pretty huge and that's when money starts causing issues usually. R.I.P. Chester, he was a special one.
Im shocked you have never heard this song, and now you will never ever forget it . Linkin Park is the master of producing the"EARWORM" song. Wonderful band that made unforgettable songs with everlasting but haunting lyrics. Welcome to your Linkin Park journey. Get ya seat belt on, its going to be one heck of an emotional ride.
I am taking off my seatbelt and leaping from this vehicle you speak of. This was a band for angry young teens. Unsophisticated overproduced alt rock for the masses.
The singer of Linkin Park, Chester, his favorite singer was the singer of Soundgarden (Chris Cornell). Chris killed himself in 2017. Chester killed himself two months later, on Chris's birthday. They both struggled with depression their whole lives.
Their most famous song that made them popular is called In the End. Check out also their song Somewhere I Belong. It is amazing. In fact they have many great songs (mostly from their first 2 albums) that were huge hits in the early 2000s (Breaking the Habit, From the Inside, Faint...).
@@dariusjacobus2084 No. In the End is by far their most popular song, much more popular than numb. Most people do not even know how the original Numb sounds, 'cause they've only heard the cover with Jay-Z.
Really happy you came to find Linkin Park, I am sure you will pick up in the comments the fatal tragedy about the lead singer. Something painfully serious is going on because a lot of the front men for present day rock bands (even rock bands in the past) have had a similar set of circumstances where they took their lives, some say it is all just random, but I believe there is a pattern in all this. Yes I definitely RECOMMEND digging into more Linkin Park, some of the suggestions in the earlier comments are very worthy. What is interstingly curious, which it might be nothing, but in a handful of Linkin Park songs, there is a hopelessness that stains the words that Chester sings, could the words in these songs be breadcrumbs and if so, was he actually sewing in a cry for help several albums ago...or not? In any case, this reaction is definite quality, hitting the LIKE button once, is not enough for Linkin Park reactions
RIP Chester Bennington. Gone way too soon......but never forgotten!
I regret not getting into them years back. I guess I heard their songs, but never paid attention. Big mistake.

Their most famous song that made them popular is called In the End. Check out also their song Somewhere I Belong. It is amazing. In fact they have many great songs (mostly from their first 2 albums) that were huge hits in the early 2000s (Breaking the Habit, From the Inside, Faint...).
Numb is their most popular song but i think one step closer got there attention but yes in the end brought it worldwide

No. In the End is by far their most popular song, much more popular than numb. Most people do not even know how the original Numb sounds, 'cause they've only heard the cover with Jay-Z.
@@elena79rus wdym bro lol numb is one of the most listening to rock songs today and also was the most popular song in for awhile lol

I know that rock radio stations play it. It is probably second most known Linkin Park song. However, In the End is better known.
@@elena79rus it might be better known because its older but it may not be the most popular

7:55 wow that blended with the song so well
