That nickname though
initialy mig-15's nato codename was 'falcon' but after korean butthurt they renamed it
Right?! NATO was not kind to the names of the Soviet planes
As good as the MiG15 was, I do wonder how quickly the Soviets would have had something it in service if the British politicians had not so foolishly - or treacherously - given away the technology of those Rolls Royce engines.
True
One wonders how quickly the Soviets would have had something like the MiG15 in service if the British politicians had not so foolishly - or treacherously - given away the technology of those Rolls Royce engines.
Agreed! What did they expect was going to happen even if they signed a contract stating they wouldn't use them for combat?
The US had already renaged on supersonic and atomic technology transfers and it looked again like the US was going back into a world isolationist stance hence selling the engines. The engines were reversed engineered from the Rolls Royce examples using Soviet metallurgy just like the Tu-4 was. The US have never always been friends... Just look at the origins of the Whitehouse.
dude, learn how to say Korea. I couldnt make it threw after that bs
Thank you for your feedback!
Other things to improve:
- RR Nene engine is normally pronounced ‘Nēn’ (long e)
-some places in the video the background audio (jet engines whining) is louder than the narration
