​@@valkyriedefense You forgot to menchen that it's the most expensive weapons program EVER!!! The only things it's got going for it is its stealth and sensors. Sure it can carrie more fuel but it burns it faster than any other plain in history wich limits it range. The carrier version can't even have an internal gun but needs to mount it in a pod. It can manuver or carry the weapons-load of the plains tht its replacing, the A-10 and F-16. it's thrust to wieght to wight rasio it not enough ever to go in a dogfight Conclusion. To mush money have been spent on the F-35 for it to fail but it dos. It cant turn, cant clime, cant run, and it cant carry enought weapons in to battle to effecktive.

The US had already renaged on supersonic and atomic technology transfers and it looked again like the US was going back into a world isolationist stance hence selling the engines. The engines were reversed engineered from the Rolls Royce examples using Soviet metallurgy just like the Tu-4 was. The US have never always been friends...
