I do pushups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, deadlift, farmers carry and twist holds. Full body workout 2-3 times a week. And cardio like basketball, punching bag, and bicycle riding
The true to escape from trash gym or bodybuilding is: train in the gym (limit the use of machines free weights are better for Atletic body) and combine with martial arts
Everyone goals is different, not every guys is tryna to build muscle to fight. But I would still agree flexibility and athleticism can play a positive role
When you are in the street, about to fight someone, you don't do bench press with your opponent that wants to break your face.It doesn't matter if you have different intentions,if you are a man,you have to learn how to fight.Do both, lift weights and learn to fight, which is what I do
By this logic any type of exercise is pointless if you dont train fighting. There are plenty of athletes of different sports who are in great shape but dont know hot to fight because they dont do martial arts.
Difference is, a professional soccer player has the cardio and the core strength needed to survive a fight, so does a basketball player, and a baseball player, and a football player. Even if they don't train specifically to fight, they indirectly are better suited for fights than the rest of us because they are ATHLETIC. That's the key word here. Most sports, even if they don't get you better at fighting, will make you more athletic, and thus indirectly more ready to fight. Modern professional bodybuilding does the exact opposite, it REDUCES your athleticism.
@@oinkyshploinkyFighters need strength also. Lifting weights will make you stronger. And being bigger is also advantage in a fight. There is a reason there are weight classes in combat sports.
