Everything Wrong with Stradman's Lamborghini Countach (It's ALOT!)

- The hard part is done. The engine has come out, a complete service performed, new clutch installed, and all the major mechanicals are in tip-top shape. The next step is ironing out all the fine details, of which there is no shortage, including, passenger mirror, a/c blower, interior light, radio amplifier, and quite a few other small items. These items are seemingly minor fixes, but finding parts for these cars in a timely manner can be challenging.

Stradman’s Countach will get done faster than his twin turbo Gallardo. 🤣😂🤣
TTing it was a mistake. Should have kept his first and a manual, bone stock. Should have TT'd a Huracan.
@@LambosOnly I agree, plus it’s a manual which is very rare & not an e-gear. Stradman’s Gallardo will lose its value, because the engine mods they were doing to it while TTing it.
James (Stradman) should’ve kept it stock.
🤣💯
The guys at B Rogue are looking like 🤡 now.
@@airleclair If it was sent to UGR it would've been done by now
Imagine diagnosing, fixing, testing and rebuilding an entire Countach in less time then installing a TT kit on a Gallardo…
I imagined it.
lol not just installing a kit. Those guys broke his gallardo multiple times and are rebuilding the engine from the ground up. Strad should get his car back from those clowns and find someone else
And the Countach is older than any Gallardo 💀
That is one fortunately timed car purchase. Congrats James! I can't wait to see it across the country.
He had a tip, he knew it was coming
Nostradamus
"As long as he doesn't beat on it- treat it like a racecar"
James is sending that car straight to spinclass after launching it 50 times
Your attention to detail is amazing. I can't wait to see what James does with this car.
Purple wrap and white wheels 🤣 jokes asides, what an acquisition this car is for James 💪🏼
If he wraps it purple, I swear to God I will hunt him with a can of spray paint...
He will drive it, that’s what you will see.
Countachs might commonly need small repairs, but those things are bulletproof, they rarely ever fully breakdown...
I can tell you speak from first hand experience, correct?
If only this was true. But sadly you are incorrect.
This is why it’s important to always carry cassette tapes in your pockets, they are just so useful these days you can’t afford to be caught without one. Love the car man!!!
You can fix the radio feedback by twisting the ground and power around eachother like a braid. Run both the ground and power direct to dedicated battery fuse of the main terminals
Or just suppress what ever is causing it. Alternator and or HT ignition.
That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard and I've been a 12 volt installer for 2 decades LOL
Gotta love the Countach horn 😎 Thank you for the ride-along John and Mr cameraman.
Car looks and sounds great, John. Way to be a stickler and check absolutely everything out! Once the boys at Curated get everything sorted out, the Car is 99.9% by you, John and it's detailed and ready for James to pick it up, I know that he's going to have a smile that's ear to ear and a grin to match! Epic Work so far! As always, my Best to You, Senja, L.J. & J. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy! ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
When I get my hands in one of these cars I’m bringing it straight to your shop! Appreciate all the attention to detail and honesty.
You were made for THIS !!!! You are one of a kind man!! It s very rare , you are blessed and you fit perfect in your position ,you re a legend allready !
Driving a white on white Countach through sunny Miami is just something I’d describe as „perfect fit“.
When you mentioned 91 octane fuel it reminded me of my first time at a petrol station in the US. I was a bit confused since 91/93 is something we haven’t had for a while over here. But generally higher octane can make a big big difference on almost any 80s car, I assume it has to do that some are still tuned to work best with leaded fuel 🤔
It sure does give some Miami vice vibes.
over here in the uk we have 95 octane and then our premium which is 97 octane.
@@garygritter5701 Yeah, similar in Germany. We have 95 as „super“ and 98 as „super plus“ - and then all the high performance snake oil variants of the different brands, of course 😅
Temarian should've dressed like Sonny Crockett for this vid; white blazer, white slacks, peach-colored "T", and a pair of Wayfarer shades 😬
@@kimosabbe50 if I lived in Miami, that would be my standard look. I do, however, live in Hamburg, which is the northern German antithesis of Miami 😅
@@jim_bocho 😮
Thought of one more touch that would've been a perfect for this vid: Temarian should've pulled out a Jan Hammer cassette set to play "Crockett's Theme" 😉
Love that car. Best timed car buy for this day and age. Way to go James!
White-on-white QV, y'know it's a later QV because of the anniversary style ground effects... That's a nice Countach. Arguably the best version they ever built, in one of the most striking color codes.
Great update John! You are the man!
Thanks for the update!!!! I’ve been anticipating this ever since you announced it a while back. Will you be using a modern aftermarket ignition? ( like Tyler Hoover did) also is the car getting PPF installed before that huge road trip to Utah?
GOOD JOB MAN , GOOD LUCK STRAD . CANT WAIT TO SEE THE RIDE BACK HOME .
That white on white is just sick!!! 🔥
Tu es un des meilleur spécialiste au niveau mondial de la countach John. Continue de me faire rêver avec tes vidéos sur la reine countach
Nice video. I looked up “Stradman”. Not sure how he stumbled on this considering his other cars, but a smart purchase.
Si cool!
I was there yesterday and your guys at the dealer were youst so kind and they explained me story’s of the cars and so on, I was able to se Strads in the back!
Si cool!
That engine sound! Nothing else matters. Wow.
Awesome and fascinating video.... Thank you❤🙏
Stradman bought this car perfect timing! Can’t wait to see it on the channel
You guys should give James a handful of cassette tapes from the 80s! Lol
I had no problem with the audio, maybe it was fixed already. My video played perfect.
Another Great video, thanks John
The idle comes down when the engine is hot when the radiator fans kick on creating a load on the alternator. Happens on a lot of old Italian cars.
No problem cross country in a Countach. Bought my first one in Kansas, and drove it straight home to South Florida. Was an amazing trip!
Kansan here, and I'm glad you enjoyed a Countach from Kansas! There's more cars in Kansas than people think ;)
how many you got ? I have 3 my self.
@@Sueings I bought it from AB Hudson, of Hudson oil you may know then.
@@amg2fast626 Only 3?
I am so excited for James this car is so cool and I am always excited about supercars that are older more antique
I like the car. I have seen some other vehicles that were white on white where the owner had a habit of wearing new blue jeans and the driver seat became stained with blue dye. I always like mine to be soft and pre washed but there were some brands that went crazy with the dye.
Getting ready for the highway video 🤤
The AC is going to be working! Nice, he’s going to need that for this summer!
Nice colors on this Countach.
I had a similar AC blower fan noise in my Countach. This evolved into a terrible racket. The fan is moulded into the plastic, which made the job not as simple as expected. A car with many quirks, that I love owning and driving.
How comfortable is it?
@@marklynch1305 I’m not tall, so find the car very comfortable. I’ve installed a reversible ez power steering system (which disengages when I’m at speed) making parking and three point turns easier. I don’t find the clutch heavy, and love the gated manual. A truely analog and mechanical driving experience thatI thoroughly enjoy.
Why don't you have it on RUclips? If i had a car like that i would never stop filming it haha
@@magiccheeseball That’s what my son keeps telling me too 👍
@@marklewis2736 do it for your son then! 😀 that woukd be awesome to see anyone would like to see a car like that it doesn't even have to be a RUclipsr quality video I'm surprised your son didn't upload videos of it 😁
I can’t wait to see Stradman get delivery of this Countach.
Love the clean white look.
John
If you could pop some Jan Hammer tapes in the deck and drive it on I395 It would really be appreciated
Hopefully I get to see it I live in Florida I’ll probably stop by to check it out. When are you there?
White on white Countach in Miami. Nice!! 🌴
You should make numbered mixtapes for these 80’s cars!
John we need that V12 symphony
John John, you’re made for this.
A white on white Countach seems like it would have been a great prop for an 80’s Wham music video featuring George Michael in a white suit.
Woo hoo Strad mans Lamborghini I’ll be seen it on his channel pretty soon
Is there any differences between a 1988 and a 1988 1/2? A local guy here has a white on white countach as well but his is a 1988 1/2. Looks just like this one but you can see the rear toaster box american bumpers holes where he removed them. I didn't see them on this one. (On a side note: Did curated purchase this car from Indiana by chance?)
There Is No Differences Between A 88 and an 88 1/2 its just That The 1988 1/2 Was Built In The Second Half Of 1988
this is the nicest car stradman has so far , don't mess it up with a cheesy wrap !
His wraps look terrible to me and the
white wheels are not my taste but i guess they protect the paint the Bugatti looked so nice workout the wrap!
White on white?! Are you kidding me! Such a sweet car!
You said the immortal words , it will make it so long as he doesn’t beat on the car , this is Stradman you are talking about , so it won’t make it .
James my boy but Please talk him out of taking that long drive please 😂😂😂
Now just to wait for him to wrap it purple!😂😂
Please forgive me if this is a silly question
Why aren’t the wheels white, like on the beautiful blue Countach you had a while back?
What are your thoughts on installing electric power steering to Countachs as Harry Metcalfe has done to his QV and seems to be a popular mod in Eurupe
I installed the ez system on my Countach. Active only when parking or 3 point turn. I use the car a lot and recommend it. I also installed (reversible) tiny blind spot cameras in the small windows near the doors. Image displayed via the rear vision mirror. With the annoyances out the way can enjoy the beautiful mechanical nature of the car, the noise, and of course gated manual.
The noise from blower fan is due to some obstacles like twigs or leaves stuck
3:24 Really, people have told me R12 is colder than the updated 134a refrigerant. My family bought cases of the stuff back in the day for their fleet of old cars.
Now that R12 has been discontinued for a long time, it's worth quite a bit of money today. 120$ per pound I believe
I would add a bottle of redline water wetter with the coolant.. for summer road trips😇
Not a fan of that alpine.. i would search for a nakamichi retro
Beautiful! A* lot (two words). I’ll see myself out… 🤦🏻♂️
NAUGHTY PERFORMANCE DRIVER! ~> no properly adjusted mirrors = No Drive 😋🤣😁😎 / Smoooth car, if it's your thing... an LM002 makes me bark so to each their own, eh? / Cheers from Texas, Billy 🏴☠️🌈💚
Bet he can't wait to get it great to see it getting so much love and attention
I’m glad he’s not taking it to Macco for a paint job !
eating pasta and sauce while watching this lol
Such a sweet spec but the wheel fitment on these cars was terrible so tucked in could be a few inches wider in my opinion congrats to Stradman.
Is that thing manual steering?
I hear Jay Leno has 86K on his Countach, and he used it as a daily for years. Please tell me why does NO ONE in the car industry not know that is it bad Esp in hot climates to run a car low on fuel because you will Kill the fuel pump? I don't know if Lamborghinis are like this , but almost all the cars I've had a pump in the tank which is cooled by the fuel so if no fuel the pump can get hot and fail. I learned this by experiencing it first hand so now I try not to let any of my cars go less than 1/4 tank. Just a FYI for anyone with Normal cars , maybe.
a white on white countach round miami was meant to be.
Get her fixed up so we all can witness this epic drive from Florida to Utah or bust 👍
"As long as he doesn't beat on it"... lol, u know the Stadman right?
101 Ave gas. And California used to have 93 octane before you were born. But they CA got rid of 93 in early 90s.
Would not be surprised if this gets finished before his Gallardo.
I’m gonna go watch the wolf of wall street now 😂
Sickest Car Strad owns....
Based on the amount of repairs they have done it’s gonna cost thestradman a lot of money
He mentioned the 91 octane fuel. That's mainly all James has where he lives unless he uses race fuel or goes to that one gas station.
Plus high altitude. Oh boy...
@@airleclair oh right! Damn
Can you allow me to detail it?
Hoovie should let them repair his Diablo or Tyrell Workshop in the UK, a true legend
hoovie and John kinda have bad blood.
I would have liked to see this a the Miami Vice car instead of the Testarossa.
1k for a clutch isn’t the most expensive thing in tha world you’d think it’d be more they must have plenty on shelves
This looks like a nightmare to drive lmao
It does scream 1988
I sent you guys an email about a Lamborghini for sale in Australia.
i don't blame you for not having a tape for the Alpine. Who the hell would man. Put a 2022 deck in there and put a better amp in there and upgrade them speakers and ad some low end if it all possible. Going cross country with that crap system in there.
Jay Leno said he put 100k miles on his with no major problems he said was a bullet proof daily driver
Thestradman countach?!
Idles at 2k!
Can someone please adjust the bracelet on johns watch lol it’s always so loose!
Please put a new shift nob and that thing
James can only get 91 octane in Utah.
I’m surprised you don’t know how to properly back up a countach.
I was thinking the same thing. Isn't this guy supposed to be a Lamborghini expert or something?
That steering column being all pitted would drive me nuts!
Windscreen Wipers and Washers?!
All that work n then Stradman is just going to straight pipe and wide body it
The only poster of a car I ever spanked it to..
****/////ALPINE 7273... I had that one and also a 7272.
You don't have a cassette? Lol
Can you twin turbo a Gallardo?
of course....they have been doing it for almost 20 years.........try googling Under Ground Racing........but this is a basic up-grade for those who tune cars......just a Volkswagen/Audi engine.
SO WHICH IS IT ? ITS A POS OR STRAD IS GETTING HIS CAR FIXED ? WHICH IS IT ?
I just hope he doesn’t end up wrapping it in purple cow colors and puts on top some ridiculous rack and some giant 4 x 4 fog lights, in classic Stradman style 🤢🤮😵💫
he's literally never done that to any car. don't hate for the sake of hating
@@skwidster8744 My good man, I guess you’ve never watched his early episodes because that is the exact wrap job he put on his Lamborghini Gallardo and those horrible fog lights he put them on his silver Audi R8. He’s also put the rack on both of those cars. Watch those old episodes 😉
@@skwidster8744 PS, do a little a research before criticizing 👍🏻
I'd watch a Stradman video of a cross country drive in this car, pure cocaine dealer spec, Rj in Oz
Least this didn’t end up like gallardo or what used to be.
Wow air conditioning is so awesome… lol…
