I have lived in Sheringham for 6 months. It was the first time living away of my origin country. Best memories ever! One of the best towns in England! I will never forget the people and the beauty of that place! I love England even if I am a foreigner!
Sheringham is a hidden gem..lovely people..no crime..healthy air..it took 10 years for me to move here and I've been here 2 years now and love every second of it.😃🐋
@@leosmoonfish2849 ..once you settle in you won't regret a minute of it..I lived in London most of my life it's nothing like what I grew up in now I hate it..sheringham has lots of nostalgia about it the people are so friendly and the sea air is so good for you..believe me embrace it and it'll be the best move ever for you..good luck🥂
You’ve made the very video I’d have made if I’d had the chance to go back. Lovely, clear video. Brings back so many happy childhood holiday memories :)
Greetings from Toronto, Canada. Love your walks. Many thanks. What a difference from Blackpool. This coast has all the best spots. Beautiful little town.
Yeah I did the station here - ruclips.net/video/gOYYUvzOmvY/видео.html The market is great on Saturdays isn't it! I filmed that in an earlier trip to Sheringham and was fun to walk around there! Have a top week and thanks for the info - it's really appreciated!
The fishermen's cottages - long before Sheringham became a seaside resort - were build using flint (stones from the beach cut in half). New houses rarely use these however.
@@GimbalWalkTV But Sheringham 40s Weekend is different! The whole town gets involved: people including mums, children, teachers, policemen, spivs, and every conceivable member of the Forces are dressed for the period. There is even an Austrian chap who comes every year dressed as a German Officer!! The locals greet him like an old friend! Buses, bikes, prams, cars, jeeps etc are all there and the Poppy Line steam train gets into the act too. Most 40s weekends are about sales of memorabilia - but not Sheringham. You really need to experience the magic - dressed in 40s gear or not.
I've not thought of visiting this part of England until I watched this video. I will have to get the map out to see what else is nearby. Great to see all the local shops around.
What a fantastic little place, the minute you turned the camera round and i saw all the vibrant colours i was hooked , it all seemed so olde worlde with the quaint shops and not to much traffic, i can remember seaside towns having bunting up all year round not just for jubilees and the coloured light bulbs along the proms , the pebbles are a very unique feature on the walls never seen that before and just love the boulders as sea defences, thanks Neil really enjoyed this video .
What a great place to visit. All the cute shops and cafes. Dont the houses look great painted pastel. The sound of the waves was very pleasant. Great video, keep on walking 😀
Whilst in Sheringham why not venture across the cliff top and head over to East Runton. On the way you will have a bit of challenge before your very eyes....the Beeston bump. Well worth the climb up there as the views are stunning looking back towards Sheringham and also Cromer in the distance.
I was born there in the 40s and left (married into the Forces) in the 60s but still have a lot of family living there. I love that the town has evolved but yet managed to retain it's individuality.
Omg!! Deffo one of my favorite places now. Also G&R playing over the system in The Courtyard was awesome 🤟 Love the local shops. Keep corporate shops out of small towns, and let the locals be. ✌
(4:09) Buntings are actually nice for celebrations or for a certain occasion, they add up a bit of a festivity vibe but if they stays there forever, that's quite distracting especially if you're looking up to see the beautiful old structures... they're like the ultimate "photobomber"!
If tha had walk😮ed a bit further you would have got to Beeston Bump with some good views. In the other direction is the lifeboat station, gardens and boating lake. It would be good to tell us where you stay overnight and where you have breakfast and lunch. Love the steam trains and the local shops.
There a couple of weeks back in bright sunshine - lovely - you MUST visit - Ellies Ice Cream (9 mins 32 secs) - number 16 on the High Street - FANTASTIC Christmas Cake Ice Cream !! And many more (and no sadly I do not work for them and have no connection other than being a customer).
Can you expand this to include the lovely Little Theatre, the steam railway which gqoes to Holt, the life boat station at the other end of the promenade, the Whelk Coppers cafe overlooking the sea, the beach when the tide is out, the rail connection to Cromer, Wroxham and Norwich, how many happy dogs liver here? By the wat how do you avoid camera shake on the move?
When the tide is out the sand at Sheringham is perfect; firm enough for great sandcastles! Shame about the massive boulders but that's all about sea defences and preservation. Okay, there is not the Pleasure Beach but we leave that to Yarmouth at one end and Hunstanton at the other. So many events take place throughout the year and it is perfect for walkers too so it doesn't go dead in the winter months - unless there's a pandemic of course!
This is Lovely! have you ever been to Wells & Holkham beach in Norfolk, lovely beaches and colourful beach huts on the sand and looks like a forest there too, ive never been but i saw a video by youtubers (those happy days) who stayed there and took drone footage looked amazing, i plan to go. Also Horsey beach with the seals that laze about on the beach a lot of the times during the year.
I can vouch for that..I live in Sheringham and I've tried them all from hunstanton to cromer.. Dave's is no 1..fishers in hunstanton no.2 and if I'm pushed. seafayre in church Street sheringham no.3..for all the hype Wells and comer get for me..a let down.😉🐋

More videos coming from this coast this week!
Missed out the train station, Sheringham runs a steam train from Sheringham to Holt. On Saturdays there is a market on the carpark by the station.

Finally Sheringham a nice place to visit.

I really like it. Small and friendly!
A lovely village, we stayed at the other end of the road you walked down a few years ago and used it as a base to explore the region.
Perfect
It's a town.
Great place never heard of it before. We have some little gems in England don’t we? Thanks and keep on walking 🚶🏻👍❤️
Another favourite place for my husband & myself....always go into the cafe in the Theater for toasted teacakes.....lovely 😋

Spent a week there in January a few years back. Town was empty. We sat in the Two Lifeboats had lunch and watched it snow. Really enjoyed the area.

Costa should leave the coffee to the locals !
And if you got any closer I think that lady in the painting would of smacked ya with her mug 🤣😄😂🤣😁
