I always saw Higehiro as someone taking guardianship over a teen girl who's lost her way with zero self esteem, debasing herself and her body. Especially since at the end, he asks her mother to let him take over her care as her guardian since she was a horrible parent. The only "grooming" thing is that Sayu has a prince in shining armor complex and falls for him, but he already has a relationship with someone his own age. My guess is the controversy is by people who never finished past episode one lol.
To be fair that’s kinda how it was presented unless you watch past episode 3 in my opinion. Like he gets rejected and finds this girl who he takes home. Yes they don’t do anything together and he actually cares for her but unless you see that they develop a healthy relationship, it does give that feel. And the reason I said episode 3 is because that’s when I knew it wasn’t a grooming anime.
@@chieff6570 Ain't no way you could not? So you did watch it? Confused if you intentionally used a double negative or didn't know if you did.. Also that's not loli anime just an fyi.
Higehiro was wholesome and heartwarming. The fact she came to him as a lover in the end is def questionable, but there was zero grooming. If anything she was constantly shamed for being forward and lewd lol. I knew someone like her and they didn't get the happy ending, so this show was a win in my book.
I was satisfied with the ending of AoT, it wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, it isn't the only series where the MC croaks and I didn't had any issues with the 3D CG in season 4, it was good especially when compared to a lot of B-tier or even A-tier list anime out there... I'm not saying its a perfect series but I do believe people are never satisfied no matter the ending... the only thing in this list that I strongly agree with is that Lelouch should've stayed ded
i mean lets be honest AOT is a mature anime it had a mature theme, and the message at the end was not about making everyone happy it was simply the realistic ending, what the creator thought and made of whole story, depicted through that last moment
9:45 This could be just me but when I watched this scene all I can think of about it is even though Rem’s feelings are towards Subaru are genuine and have a lot meaning behind them for her. I also think she already knew she would be rejected by him as she knows he loves Emilia. So she was both telling him her feelings to bring him back to his usual self and help fix his few problems. But to also show him how much he means to her and that she would do anything for him as she said she would run away with him and also have his kids for crying out loud. However she also knows he stays with his beliefs and that’s what makes him the person she admires and she can see he needs help with his current situation and some guidance back to himself if you get what I mean as I know I feel like I’ve went over my self a lot here repeating the same things. But in the end I don’t see this as Subaru rejecting her feelings entirely as in my opinion I think he sees her more as a sister from the amount of the anime I’ve watched, and I also don’t see it as him rejecting her to protect her from the future. But once again sorry if this makes no sense and that I’m repeating myself a bit 😅
In Japan there are girls going through what Sayu was facing at the beginning of Higehiro... If instead of discussing about the fictional plot of a fictional story where the guys genuinely cared, they discussed and did something about the situations of the girls highlighted by the anime.. It would be far more better for the society, the girls and the world.. In real life how many people do you expect would be like the male lead??
The fact that REN was killed and made unable to be resurrected is what made this so heartbreaking. It killed him to find out she was gone forever and he had to commit to loving Emilia to save his sanity.
I saw Higherio as a modern version of what has been happening for centuries. I thought it was odd that people are pretending this age dynamic with females seeking refuge under the roof of a man who can afford them comforts is a new concept.
i think hegihiro was divided fans because how she acted and offer her body to him willingly, not because of the age gap or anything but sure age gap but still more on they were disgust how they portrait her in anime, some fans like me liked the story because it wholesome most of the time no actual that it only got dark during that one episode and then everything got better, for me now i would likely be in disgust group if i was a lot more mature at that time, because i was just starting watching anime so i watch Alot of wholesome anime no gors or sad shit, but now i would be disgusted but still watch it
NGE was a brilliant ending. All the main characters in the show had mental issues. As Shinji was the main one, it was right to show his mind collapsing after he had stop the last angel. Who happen to be his friend and someone who he may had deeper feelings for. What about Martian Successor Nadesico ? The movie Prince of Darkness.
honestly I didnt stop watching deathnote after Ls death, but the series got kinda boring and complicated, so it was tough to keep up, though the final ending was satisfying, there is still alot that fell off
The re-zero rejection was messed up. But I’m more worried now cause the last scenes I remember is rem I think is turned to stone or something & the next season that is out or suppose to come out suppose to happen 5 yrs after that. Like hopefully they saved rem & explain how
I'm getting worried about my rem though in arc 7 hope the author isn't so desperate for Emilia to win that he literally wants to make us dislike Rem he shouldn't ruin her character
I can think of a moment from Evangelion that was WAY more infamous. If you know you. Oh and Fujimoto decided to REPLICATE the "shot" 😂 a few weeks ago in Chainsaw Man also dividing the more fussy fans from the ones who already knew what kind of story they were reading from the first chapter! Wtf did u ppl expect ?
L death In death note wasn’t that controversial. Lights death was the true controversy actually the ending. But I guess then the special that came after giving us some closure.
Yeah, thats kind of the point. Subaru has to come to terms with not being the knight in shining armor that he expected himself to be. He has to learn to make do with what he has and rely an others for the rest.
I love Higehiro, but I cannot blame people who haven’t watched it to think it’s a pedo series, because it’s “sold” like this, when in fact it’s the opposite.
I'm sorry but what I hate about attack on titan is that arin became "god" the person who made the titans and he go's and sed he won't be god but look at what happens he's he dun f up on hem self and his friends i could be mistaken tho
For the lack of better words arin had a hero complex I'm always fit my self if I like older arin or younger it hurts my hed trying to figure out what arin was going through but love attack on titan but it hurts bro it just hurts i want to throw up now
Yamato is a girl who inspired to be Oden, why tf does trans thing have to get into this. It had been established she was a girl she wanted to follow Oden's path, not his gender goddamit
@@mrdude88 yeah thats why anime industry is dying and the only way to gain audiences is to put sexual content for young viewers. unlike the 80s-90s anime where we can be related to the characters and stories.
I mean, I've only watched the first season, he's annoying at times and not the best character out there but honestly, considering what Subaru has to endure, I'm not sure many of us could endure all that constant pain and death either without it getting to us. Also having to watch the people we care about constantly getting killed and/or hurt. And the fact you realise you're the only one who can change things, but cannot tell anyone. Yeah, I don't think I could handle all that without breaking down every so often. At least the protagonist here has a reason, unlike other protagonists who cry over the littlest of things. The MC isn't perfect here, but Re:Zero is somewhat a poor example of complaining about weak crybaby protagonists.

I hate when they do money grabs and destroy perfect endings. It causes stories to go out in a whimper instead of the high note.
I thought for sure goblin slayers ep 1 rape scene would be on this list.
Yeah, it should've been

I use Redo of the Healer as the base line for " controversial anime ".
Good video
That Grundy episode still gets me and I'm 43. That was great story telling.
2:42 Suzaku? ... How dare you 😑😊
To the One Piece point: Kaido wanted a boy so everyone treated Yamato as a boy (probably if they wouldn’t kaido would beat there asses)

kind of agreed specially in Asia age gap is quite large (anime watcher are mostly younger audience so i guess that's that)
Literally dripped ReZero on that episode

There's no way Subaru was protecting Rem. If he was, that means he was putting Emilia in danger by chasing after her.

There wasnt anything illegal there.
Actually, what the MC did qualifies as kidnapping (also mentioned in the show).

can Saitama beat Goku is a stupid question, they are from different genres, a more appropriate question would be, can Saitama beat Arale?
