So the scene where Gambit sees Rogue and Magneto holding eachother is actually an Easter Egg to the cover of Uncanny X-Men 274 when Magneto and Rogue where stuck in the Savage Land together. This was during the period where Magneto had been headmaster, but they were starting to plant the seeds to make him a villain again.

the wedding photo of scott and jean was actually the cover of x-men 30. after that they honeymooned in the future as redd and slym where they raised nathan in a world dominated by apocalypse. apocalypse was raising nathan’s clone stryfe.

Can't really call it a full victory for Sinister when his plans for baby Nathan didn't go as he planned so he has put a big hurt on the team as a whole he didn't get exactly what he wanted since he obviously had a plan for Nathan possibly to use as a weapon
