Better to use up a queen, put all frames in a big casset and set it over a strong colony for winter. On a spring put frames with brood and bees in to a nuc boxes and give a queen cels. Less headake.

It is Apidea mating hive. He uses supers on the top of "mating brood box". Supers don't have any entrances and you can't use it separately (without modifying).
It would be nice, but after shipping they are over $50 USD. If they were around $20 they would be very cool to use for mating nucs, particularly since they can be stacked for overwintering some queens.

Great video but your apideas are a bit closer together then they really should be there can be a lot of drifting and robing if there close like that
