  • This extraordinarily expressive anthem by Henry Purcell (1659-1695) sets text from the litany as compiled by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury, the Tudor leader of the English Reformation (d. 1556).
    Performed at the London International Festival of Early Music 2021, as part of the winners recital from the International Young Ensemble Competition 2020.

    Beethoven said that Handel was the father of us all. Well I guess Bach was Handel's father. But then Purcell was Handel's father.
