Legendary Wings my favorite NES game of ALL time.....I was so good playing it that there was a point where I played the game straight through to the end without loosing one life....yes like a game wizard 😎
Amazing co-op game. My dad and I used to play this for hours until he or I would fall asleep. Good times. The music alone is worth the cost of the game, AMAZING music.
I loved playing this game when I was younger. I mainly played my SNES, but my brother still had his NES lying around and Legendary Wings was one of my favorite games to play. Great review as always.
I love CGR, this is another one of those games I had or a friend had that I played the hell out of and forgot about it. But I remembered it as soon as I saw the title. This was a great game!

Mark, did you ever play a game for the NES also made by Capcom called _Section Z_? It plays like R-Type but it has more "adventure" elements involved. What I mean by that is that there are branching paths in the game with plenty of secrets. Another interesting thing is the "look" of the game. Something that comes to mind is _Metroid_ for the NES which is strange because it came out before _Metroid_. I find _Legendary Wings_ similar to _Section Z_ in term of weirdness, except _Legendary Wings_ is like weird fantasy and _Section Z_ is weird sci-fi.
This game is something like.. phelios (megadrive) with an arcade game I forgot the name (there's an arcade game that you create holes in the ground, and when you enter, the game changes the perspective.
Nice. I just recently played this again and finally beat it. keeping all your power ups or knowing where each lucky zone is was the key. Awesome game. Bosses were super boring though.
cool vid i love side srolling shooters you cant go wrong with this or dragon spirit i dont mind side scrolling shooters where you die in one hit you just gotta have good hand eye cordination kind like silver surfer and be patient
One way traffic makes the Lord Bendtner made? I thought i really didn't know that for sure. Make the cooks while the wings from NES goes to smash bros would be a chill thing to listen to IMO. Although fire is magnetic flame the superficial thinking behind it is what makes is wonderful. Fin.
The arcade version of this had a larger color pallet for some lightly better graphics overall along with animations for some "backgrounds", but the NES version is actually the better game in my opinion. Both were very repetitious with the level boses, but overall the game was harder and a bit less monotonous than the arcade version. I love this game, one of the best games out there for the NES in my opinion, and the music is just amazing.

This game reminds me of the dead phoenix game capcom was suppose to release on the gamecube. i wouldn't be surprise if the gamecube was the spiritual successor of this game.
I had this! I hated this game because it was easy when your bullets were fully charged, but impossible once you die and start at the lowest power again.
Such a great game. Beat it when i was 5 probably my best accomplishment next to 30 at NHL 14 lol. Very hard when you lose Phoenix power. And the space level is a bitch.
i remember renting this game periodically on the weekends when i was a kid, couldn't ever get anywhere on it but it was nice to play when nothing else was available.
Back in the day, Capcom made some great side-scrolling games. Games like Sector Z, Side Arms, The 1941 series, Trojan, and Forgotten World will always be timeless classics in my book.

In my opinion that's really the best way to beat this game, otherwise it gets brutally difficult if you lose those powers! Perfect run or nothing!

For some reason this reminds me about Guardian Legend. Which is my favorite game for NES.

Play the Arcade version Mark that is fantastic... Albeit crazy hard.
Nice; this game is pretty cool, but it does get pretty difficult if you die even once and lose your upgrades.
