The side step and heavy punch is a great idea! But also I think it’s just enough time for the opponent to use perception. If you hit them with that two or three times in one match, assume the counter is coming. So keep mixing it up. Great video!
Really good vid! Sidestep has been my go to, feels like a guaranteed punish every time they think they get a "free turn" just for a full combo to their back lol, sometimes double side step is even better
@@christopherbrownington yes exactly. But if they are mashing you have to step forward then sidestep. You can just ascend and descend to mess up there camera
This video is a GODSEND. Going into Sparking Zero, I realized I sucked at BT as I'd only ever played these games on normal difficulty and never against real opponents. Burst dash made me feel hopelessly overwhelmed to the point where I sort of wanted to quit? Now I know ways to turn them into an advantage. Thanks so much!!
All these options require the slightest timing, but it isn't too bad. especially if you're moving around already. A 4th option is to use use the invul frames from a well-timed neutral step in and from that, then go into block or perception.
Thanks for the Guide. I already know about sidestepping, but I didn’t know about the side step into a heavy attack or keep blasting them while they’re dashing towards me. You really don’t have to chase down your opponents in this game. Everyone’s a sweaty loser who wants to be in your face until your body stops moving so it’s pretty easy to just kick back and do this the whole fight.
Ok thats some really useful info you gave so I'll sub for that. I have a defensive wait and punish style in most games so I would have never thought of this
Never thought about using movement to side-correct and follow that up with perception, as usually, the side step is enough for me. Gotta test this strategy next time I hop on ranked, especially for afterimage spammers. Great video brother!
so much fun i do the sidestep into heavy hits are also fun dude lol. Try sometime online, i wanna fight more people who surprise me. Also good stuff putting this out there.
Hi guys, I wanted to point out a problem that has been damaging the game since its release and that few people have noticed so far. Searching around Reddit I discovered that it is a bug that mainly affects those who play with Classic controls rather than Standard (the new ones). The problem itself arises when you use Classic controls and someone online in PvP is hosting the game (for example you play with a map that you have not chosen) and uses Standard controls and not Classic ones as your own, at that point the Skills become bugged: you will no longer be able to perform Skill 1 (with L2+Triangle) because it will always perform the second one in its place (with L2+Up and Triangle), and it also breaks the input needed to change characters in the game when playing in DP mode, making it impossible to perform a switch between characters. It seems like that also when someone with Standard controls is against someone hosting with Classic ones the bug affect the Standard users too, being unable to swap characters. I read of someone who gave advice on how to solve it, for example they say to set the same controls also in "Player 2" by going into the controls settings and changing from Player 1 to 2, among the first options, and set everything equal to Player 1, because when you have an opponent against you who acts as a host it is as if you become the "Player 2"; even if this seems to work only in matches played in lobby. Others recommended disabling all the options that provide passive accessibility aids. Personally both did not work, many people are furious and are trying to make themselves heard so that Bandai starts to fix the problem that really breaks the gaming experience in Ranked. If anyone has encountered the problem please spread the word because there is very little knowledg about it and there are no videos about it from someone who could be noticed more by Bandai, I hope all this has helped you to clarify if you too have encountered this bug and have not found much information about it ❤
That what makes it so fun to me,i has alot of defensive options on there, which can also be countered as well. Everytime i play withmy twin brother it's just like the dbz anime fight when goku and vegeta be evenly match

I actually was talking about this with friends the other day. I 100% agree with you. On the bright side, the better players will always adapt and find new ways to play. But it’s fast tracking not so good players. Which overall makes it a better sweaty experience. This game is chess. Even the counters have counters.
Things are different now than how they were. It's annoying feeling like you are constantly fighting the meta in every new game. That said, these things have their place, and it's not all bad. The thing is, the bad players are also way better than they were back in our day, so gaming is getting harder by virtue of more people having access to the information, instead of being hard by virtue of lack of information. You gotta look at the bright side of it. You still don't have to play Meta, you just have to accept that you are playing around weaknesses and limitations to discover hidden strength, instead of playing blatantly strong and easy things. And Skill expression is still a thing, it's just that there are certain things you have to respect in every game.
This game is so complex, finally an anime game where a clear skill level can be expressed. Great Vid

Yeah, you still need to have some sort of awareness you can’t do it too late. I’ll also try that 4th option 👍

Ive been using the side step. I def want to use the ascend/descend and ki blasts more. Love catching the opponent by surprise.
Please note that the perpection counter will use a skillpoint as it is not a regular attack.
