- Here’s a video on how to quickly and beautifully paint up your British Napoleonic Highlanders. Utilizing traditional painting and washing techniques, coupled with a few new tricks, allows you to knock out these units quickly and ready to play in record time!
I love your videos, very useful and informative. Have you tried using a black primer as these specific figures are mostly black? With epic napoleonics I started doing this method even leaving some black in recesses and the end result still looks great. Saves painting hats, backpacks, shoes etc
I think the general rule of thumb is spray/ airbrush one of the most prominent colors on the model. For these Highlanders I still feel that red is the one with the most surface area.
Nice work! looks goood!
As per the other comments a nice presentation of the paint job. Each step makes it an easy process to apply. I rather think you got the colour wrong for the tartan on the kilts because green was absolutely wrong for the pin line on the kilts. If you look back you will notice they were red first and then yellow on top. Ironically I did this on a stack of Airfix Highlanders back in the late 70's when trying to build a diorama of the squares receiving the charge of the French at Waterloo. But who is going to know in a game?
@@Firedrake-f4g yeah the tartans were so small that I had to make a judgment call on that. Red lines may have been too loud and red plus green lines would be too busy. So it was definitely a compromise.
