That's nice, because I always feel like we are disliked, don't need validation for what my actual ancestors did, but think it will all be gone soon, take care 👍👍✌️
I live in the UK and the last time I went to Windsor Castle was sadly not long after the fire, and seeing the awful damage was devastating! So good to see it thoroughly restored.
A few miles from Stonehenge is a village called Avebury where the stone circle is very accessible to the public. Just a few miles from Windsor is Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed. The American Bar Association has a monument there, and there's also a monument dedicated to JFK.
The Ticket lasts a Year use it as many times you can during that times It takes at least two days to do a quick visit. the Stonehenge you see today are the Later Local Sarcen Stones the Origional circle round the outside are Blue Dolomite from the Precili hills from Pembrokeshire SW WALES, The Alter Stone in the Center has found to have come from the far North of the Scottish mainland !!
I live in the UK but have never seen Windsor Castle, your video made me want to go.😮 Stonehenge is a great place. You can go inside the circle before and after opening, you pay a little extra but worth it. I was in the circle for sunrise one summer and it was amazing. Watching the sun come up between the stones from inside the circle. 😌 Nice video, thanks for making it. 😊
Most amazing time I was ever there was when a bad thunder came rolling up over Salisbury Plain. The sky turned from bright blue to almost black within 15 minutes. We decided not to wait for the bus back to the visitor centre so we’re hoping to get back there before the thunder storm did, we didn’t make it but seeing the coming storm against Stonehenge was amazing.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. The architecture and craftsmanship is so amazing considering they did these things thousands of years ago without the help of our modern tools. So impressive.
The way you choose the music to go with each scene…in all of these London vlogs? You have a talent! I am loving these so much! Thank you for all your hard work editing and filming.
Bath is my home town. I only left a few years ago to move to Devon, but go back regularly. It has an atmosphere that is totally unique, along with the best architectural streets and houses. Love my home town, but I’m too old to live there these days.
Thank you so much for these videos. I wish I could see these in person but you’ve made us feel like we’re there too!!! I love that you got to see these beautiful places!!!💜
It must have been wonderful to see all that beautiful architect and learning all the history and beauty, instead of just shopping. Glad your having a wonderful time 😊
So glad you enjoyed it Kylie. Windsor is lovely. There are lots of places in the U.K. like this, too many to mention. You should visit York if you love history. You would love it there. One thing we are not short of is beautiful buildings, art and history. 🌺🌺🌺
You should go to a beautiful place called Haworth. It’s where the Brontes lived and are buried. You can go in the Parsonage where they lived and see the rooms set out as they were with original furniture clothing, drafts of the books. You would live it. Haworth is so quaint and pretty and you will definitely see the inspiration for Wuthering Heights ❤
So pleased for you! I enjoy reading VLOGs by American's visiting, as they have fresh eyes to see what we take for granted! You had a taster which you made the most of, but please come back, and visit the many, many places which really knock the spots off of the ultra touristy places you got to. Do some reading up. but for instance if you can get a break for a couple of weeks, get out of London! Alternatives to the places you went, say travelling West as you did, with a train ride from London, and AirBNbing or whatever, would include perhaps Caerphilly Castle, Caerleon with its Roman ampitheatre and legionnaire's barracks, which you would share just with a couple of dog walkers, unlike Bath, and Avebury Circle. There are countless other possible choices, those are just some that spring to mind as like, but unlike, those you visited. Happy travelling, and dreaming!
Amazing vlog Kylie, can't believe you could do all that in one day! We went last year to Windsor Castle beginning of September around 11 am, it was a nightmare, huge lineups. You were wise to go early and with a group.
At Windsor Castle these happened to be Welsh Guardsmen, a piece of advice. Make sure you do not get in their way. They will scream and shout at you if you do not?🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧
At the start I thought all three in one day !!!! Loved your visit to Windsor, there is so much to see that you will definitely want to visit again. Bath baths, aren't they lovely, and the water is naturally warm. Back in the 1970s you could swim there and we did a few times, the water is very rich in minerals and my white bikini got stained a nasty rust colour that never washed out. 😇😇
Yes just discussing with a friend how many useful minerals you pick up just paddling or swimming in the sea. A magnesium sulphate foot soak is very good too and inexpensive.
Many, many years ago when you could touch the stones I have a picture. It was taken when I was a child and it shows me doing a Samson between two of the stones. Incidentally, I am British and still live in England and I have not been back since. Really, the stones only have to be seen once.
Would love to spend a day in each of these places! Thank you for taking us with you! The history of the Kings of Britain (Geoffrey of Monmouth) has the lore of Stonehenge. Not sure if it's accurate but it's a great story.
I'm too afraid to fly overseas, so I'm going to watch this video 20 times. Lol It looks amazing! I can only imagine the feeling of walking through Windsor Castle, and of seeing the Stonehenge in real life. ❤
We took that same tour! My favorite part was Stonehenge. We were in a real rush to get out of there, so I couldn't buy the coffee mug with sheep in sweaters in front of Stonehenge that I really wanted. So a friend of mine found it online and bought it for me! Sweetest gesture ever. And I thought Bath was so chill- I would totally go there on vacation. (p.s. worst food on our trip was in Bath. Otherwise all of the food was fantastic).
The sensory blue stones at stonhenge cave from West Wales. The bigger stones are believe to have come from further north but this is recent thinking. The circle of stones is one of many in the vicinity snd is neither to be a worship site used amongst other reasons to celebrate the Winter Solstice when the shortest day of winter happens in Winter. At certain times of year the light from the sun lines up with certain stones. Recent discoveries in the Orkney islands of Scotland have identified an older stone circle site which is causing a rethink on the evolution of these sites in the British isles. Stonehenge may even have been originally suited close to Wales before ending up when it is today so the manual effort and organisation to get them there is incredible... meind boggling to me. When i was young we could walk amongst the stones but vandalism stopped this long ago. Nice video, i enjoyed the very smooth filming. When you were in Windsor castle is t reminded me that when i was a child in the 60s we used to picnic on the ramparts there before that too was closed ffrind the general public. It's a shame you didn't get the chance to wander ffiseg the hill and across the river Thames to Eton. As week as being home to a works famous public school (fee paying so not really open to the public) there's lots of history there. A ffrind of mine pointed out a butcher's so there to assume American friends of his, when they were visiting, because there is a date plaque on the ship dating it as older than the USA. I think they were amazed..

They now know that some of the stones came from Scotland, about 490 miles away or 8 1/2 hours by car. Imagine travelling from there, even by sea, in those days.
The 6 ton alter stone came from the far north of Scotland We also know that the builders of stonehenge feasted on cattle driven down from Scotland. Given that the bluestone came from near Fishguard in Wales, it strongly hints at the interconectivity across Britain, and that boats were used for transporting heavy loads.
