I have seen a lot of kennel builds. My sister actually had one and it failed miserably, they just dont seem all that sturdy in the long run. I like that you thought outside the box (pun intended) and made a cover, not an actually kennel. I think this serves multiple purposes and maintains the original intent/function. Great idea. Thanks for sharing this.
This kennel cover looks amazing. I am looking to build one for my new puppy to grow into. Can you share some of the dimensions? It also seems there are different width's for some of the stiles, is this just for visual symmetry or a strength concern?
Hey Brian, I winged this one a little when I made it and I don’t have a set of plans to look back at, but the four main legs were 1 1/2”, the two stiles around the door, and on the outside of the panels were the same, and the center stiles in the middle of the panel were 3” I think.
@@EastOakWoodworking I don't see any way to show a picture in the comments here. I ended up making my own version that was heavily influenced by your design. Again, thanks for the inspiration
I’m curious about the pantorouter. I’m a low tech guy myself but have been thinking about this. Considering setup, run time, etc does it actually save a significant amount of time in work vs just chopping out mortises and tenons thinking an analogy of the Domino and how it has really sped these steps up. Thanks again.
That slot mortiser is shop made which took some time, but there’s hardly any setup now. I have some spacer blocks pre-made that set it up for the common mortises I use.
I’m going to try your way this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing to see no Festool tools :) although you do have a sawstop :)
The Sawstop is a quality saw plus a safety device in my opinion. Either way, no sponsorships here

Thank you!
