- Not animal and not plant? What are you, Euglena? What is Euglena? This is a short microscope video to give an introduction to the basics of euglena, focusing on the fact, that euglena is plant and animal at the same time. The video also shows the fascinating behaviour of Euglena sanguinea, a species of euglena forming thick layers of cells on the surfaces of ponds and lakes turning the water seemingly into blood.

Well done man!
Helpful, amazing 👌👌👌
Amazing video
How miraculous !
I found a natural puddle of Euglena once. Macroscopically it was the greenest alga I have ever seen. Now I am hearing it is edible and nutritious, even sold as a supplement on ebay. I want to culture Euglena at home. Fascinating! (Currently I am eating/culturing Spirogyra, Cladophora, Oedogonium, Pithophora and Hydrodictyon.)
Excellent
😅😮😅😮😅well information good show 😅
What kind of microscope did you use fantastic color and contrast
Hello
4:30-5:05 is inspiring.
If you ever feel discouraged for failing at something, just remember that the only reason we're around today is because some ancient single celled ancestor of ours fucked up digesting an organism that would become our mitochondria.
The oxygen we breath is created by photosynthetic plants and algae, which are only photosynthetic because an ancient single celled organism of theirs fucked up digesting cyanobacteria, which contained chloroplasts.
The road to success is paved with failure. Particularly digestive failure, but failure all the same.
Imagine if these evolved tho. They might have weak skin but almost limitless energy. Behaving like a plant by day, predatory animal at night.
Wanna be an euglena
