There's No Excuse to Hunt with a Creedmoor Anymore--How to Cut Recoil

- A rifle with uncontrolled recoil can (1) Make the shooter flinch more, and (2) Prevent you from spotting your impact through the scope. With these 5 changes, you can dramatically reduce the recoil of a rifle.

As a retired Mechanical Engineer, let me say looks like exactly the correct approach in designing your pad. Well done Peyton & Jim!
As a retired machinist I agree;)
They are smart people
And to his point at 23:18 about "peak pressure" not being the end all be all of recoil reduction: even if two things achieve the same peak pressure, the one that gets there slower will feel like it has less recoil. Slowing the impulse from a hit to a push, even if the push is the same amount of force, it will feel softer.
A Maxi Pad without wings.
I'm calling BS. Did you notice their graphs do not have the axis vector labels, either horizontally or vertically? Are we starting above zero as many finance charlatans frequently show. Is it even linear as opposed to logarithmic, etc. Kind've negates the precision of the graph lines.
Jim!!! Congratulations on producing a product!! This looks amazing and you’ve thought of so much. I’m impressed. I took my new Mauser in 7 rem mag out today and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried about flinching from how much harder it hits. This would be such an improvement. I love it!
What you're describing as the force over time is called impulse. Very similar to momentum, it's the abruptness of that pressure spike that feels like a punch, that you're turning into a push by spreading it out over time with the pad. And with the two different materials in your pad, you're essentially doing what the shocks and struts are doing in your truck suspension. I really like the throne idea - Weatherby got a lot of customer complaints with their first gen butt pad having issues when being stored in a safe.
Perception of recoil is very different from person to person as well. Very important to get actual math involved in designing something to reduce pressure (in PSI for example) on the shoulder. Time is very much a factor in that pressure and what is perceived by the rifleman. Honestly it's really the same ballistic principles in play in both directions, whether you're talking about bullet flight or rifle stock movement.
The audible pressure wave is also something that's going to change perception of the shooter, which in most cases becomes more dramatic with a muzzle brake, even if the firearm movement is reduced.
Eyes, ears, sound concussion, and finally stock punching the shoulder. It's several human senses suddenly becoming pounded.
@@exothermal.sprocketI remember spotting an AR-50 Mark Westrom was demonstrating years ago at Cp Atterbury for a Crane sponsored event, and even that was difficult due to the muzzle blast deflecting back onto my brow, causing me to blink every shot, missing the impact. Found out how important where you lay next to a braked gun is important.
@@anthonykaiser974 Would wearing some good stout goggles help with the impact of the blast wave across the face, shielding the eyes from it? Maybe that would make no difference.
@@exothermal.sprocket maybe, but it was hitting my forehead pretty good. Considering that a 50 BMG is pushing a bullet 10x the mass of 5.56 at similar velocities, imagine how much blast is coming back at you from an AR-50's clamshell brake. You just need to get out of the blast arc, and that puts you immediately to the side and slightly rearward of the shooter. I had never been a spotter before, so I was kinda hanging out a bit, not being comfortable being right on some stranger's shoulder.
@@anthonykaiser974 I guess it depends on the design of the brake. The "tank-style" brakes on BMG's direct pressure at a backward angle, I'd suspect that would be pretty intense standing beside the shooter to the left or right. Similar brakes like a 3 to 5 segment unit can direct the blast exactly lateral, 180° from the bore axis. I'd assume that would be much less blasty to the rear of the rifle.
I ordered a recoil pad this eve for a Tikka T3X Lite Veil Wideland in 6.5cm. I had already put a limbsaver on it for no other reason than just because. At 70 years old and having shot for 62 years at least, recoil has never bothered me and still doesn't. I have shot 300 Win Mag, 270 WSM, 45/70 guide guns, and Marlin .444 and everything in between. However I enjoy Backfire and want to support Jim, hence the reason I ordered a pad for a 6.5cm. I also sent a note for a rifle I would like to add one on which is a Fierce Carbon Rogue in 7 prc which comes with the Limbsaver. Best of luck Jim!
The thought 💭 time and engineering behind this is astounding Jim and Eric. Especially with the custom pad depending upon cartridge and rifle. I also like the Throne idea. That’s extremely handy.
One of the major reasons why I didn’t get a 300 WSM in a Tikka T3X Lite was how sharp the recoil is compared with others. I ended up with a Savage M110 Long Range Hunter which is two pounds heavier and has a muzzle brake. Not bad recoil, but super loud as you might expect.
get this recoil pad with your savage will be a magic reduction and easier to enjoy option.
I appreciate most people on RUclips. It’s a tough business and damn sure hard way to make a living. Google certainly likes to take their share. It’s great to see someone not only creating content but creating a product. I don’t have any of the rifles that you currently manufacture for but I have submitted a request for two very popular ones that I’m sure will be coming soon. ❤
This is what drives innovation!!!!
Congratulations on your creation!!!
Until recently I had never shot a rifle equipped with a suppressor. About a month ago or so a range near me hosted something like a mini-shot show. The called it "Gunstock 2023".
So I had the opportunity to shoot a bolt action.308 with a suppressor on it. IMO, the suppressor didn't so much reduce recoil as it slowed it down so there wasn't such a quick recoil.
Awesome work!!!
Simms limbsaver recoil pads work wonders, figured that out almost 15 years ago. When my daughter was 12 years old and wanted to shoot my 45-70 and they work, she loved shooting it. I since have bought several of the simms pads, particularly the slip on pads, pull the original pad off, slip the new one on. My favorite use is on my 3 1/2 waterfowl shotgun, makes testing new loads enjoyable. I’ll look into your pad but but it’ll take a lot to move me from the limbsaver pads
Was looking over their website and they already recommend the Limbsaver pads as the second best for those that don’t want to spend the money on theirs.
@@bmac9936 I’m glad someone else has come up with a good recoil pad, it’s a simple solution to heavy recoil I don’t understand why more aren’t making a good working recoil pads. I’m not recoil sensitive myself but as I get older
I’m liking a good recoil pad
Excellent video!Congrats to the entire team. It’s about time the rear of the rifle was, finally and properly, addressed. We’ll be doing business after the first of next year
Good luck gentlemen.
I’m not to recoil sensitive but I’m teaching my grandkids and I think this would be so awesome. I will definitely look into these
Glad to see you have not yet got nerve damage. Or ear damage. Shot lots of .500NE and .416Rigby and after years I feel the damage
Wow as I've gotten older I've gotten more recoil shy. I am really interested in trying out your recoil pad. I really commend you and your crew for the effort you put in! I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos.
Same here. I somewhat annoyingly really like the 6.5 creedmoor for big game hunting or anything with a suppressor. Limbsavers are my friend too.
As long as the cost is worth it. If it's up past 30 buck why?
So u will have to buy the odometer for the recoil pad for it to work right. Just the. Cost will be outrageous of course just for a recoil pad. Way to much headaches for just trying to get a good recoil pad. Maybe for long range shooters that dont even hold the gun either the hands they hold them in visas and every adjustment is made by an object instead of the shooter and then the shooter barely touches the trigger lol. That is not shooting that is just math problems that the shooter still doesnt do all his computers cell phones and everything but the shooter figures out lol. This is ridiculous I am sorry but this item wouod be good for them
Then why have a recoil pad for a shooter that dont even touch the gun but with his finger.
Hiw much$$$?
Wow. The difference of that muzzzle break was visibly noticeable on camera! It was confounding to me since I was 16 (when I went skeet shooting with a 16 ga Ithaca) that no one could come up with a decent recoil pad.
Fascinating on the backstop pad. It seems like putting ammo cans on a vehicle in the military to create 'spaced' armor to absorb the brunt of the initial impact. Thanks, once again, for illustrating so many of the issues, questions, concerns I've always wanted to test out in the real world ... but just not able to do. Your channel is an invaluable asset from the ammo edu vids to firearms. God Bless and keep up the great work. Thank You!
Love it guys. Well done!
You're going to have trouble keeping up with demand, and you're going to need people.
What would be good is if companies start licensing the product from you and selling it with their guns
Maybe boyds, etc.
My 100+ year old 12 gauge single-shot 6lb shotgun with a brass buttplate would like a word with you... Lol. In all seriousness, that is pretty neat. Learning how to absorb recoil only goes so far when you're out shooting for hours at a time. Kudos man.
Thanks!
you guys rock! this is the design missing the entire muzzle recoil management for decade. salute to you all!
Thanks Jim, and family. Your channel has taught me a lot. I’m definitely buying 1
Great to hear!
I tried this recoil pad last week and it absolutely works! Buy with confidence.
If it does what you say it does (I’m not doubting your claims) then I believe you have done a good job on price point. $90 isn’t unreasonable to me. I’ll be looking to get one as you develop into other guns. Specifically Winchester model 70. And Boyd’s AT-one which is a cool wood stock but has a terrible recoil pad. The Winchester is from the 1970s and just has solid plastic, no rubber at all it and will bruise me if I shoot half a box of ammo.
Thanks Ben! Looking forward to expanding to having Winchester Model 70 and Boyd's At-One. We'll just keep spreading it rifle-by-rifle until we have everything covered.
Jim. Do you have a recoil pad for the Kel-Tec K-2000??? The factory built In pad leaves a mark on my shoulders after 20 rounds or so. That's why I don't shoot it often. If you made a add on pad, it would solve that problem. Please let me know. Thanks Roger.
I like EVERYTHING about this video.
Great job!
I'm ordering a 300 PRC right now. 😉
I believe the recoil pad you tapped on the truck hood, was hard and smooth on that corner to prevent grab or friction on clothing. This video is interesting though. I’m intrigued in the product.
Yep. Read up on shotgun pads and scout rifles.
This is great. I know I’m late to the video but as an engineer I’ll explain this a little more if anyone wants but what the video is really about is impulse. This is the same technology as modern cars and why they are tin cans and have crumple zones. Increasing that time is a magnitude of difference. I’m excited to purchase one and use it on my tikka 6.5 just to get a most that I can out of it in terms of accuracy…
If you want a really good muzzle brake, the APA Hypertap is AMAZING. Probably the best brake out there
It's impressive to see such ingenuity in the recoil pad game! 🤩
Cool product guys…. I appreciate the passion yall bring to the table. I’ll be keeping an eye out for these! 👍🏻
Ordered! Can't wait. I was literally debating between another mag or a limbsaver for my 300WM Tikka. And this video sent me in a new direction.
This could be super helpful for folks looking to train out of flinching. Great engineering!
Wow.. this pad is so well though through.. man you need to keep coming out with innovations like this.. you guys thought of everything.
This looks very interesting. I'd love to see Gavin from Ultimate Reloader do a video on this with their recoil testing rig - although I can fully understand as Jim said, a Human shooter vs a piece of steel are not the same.
One day when I get my own 7 PRC, I think this will be a great option to kill off the recoil! Well done Jim and Peyton, looks like an awesome product.
Gavin never reviews anything he doesn’t like. I don’t think I’ve seen him review something and give it an honest thumbs down. Not saying this would qualify, just saying he’s rather biased.
"Rescue" just as I thought, this table is more than perfect,, BEAUTIFULL. this table is truly a "LIVESAVER" I hope you get 2million views and more and give this extrodanry beautiful table away. GOOD JOB, WELL DONE 🎉🎉🎉
I have always hated the slap. I was always ok with a big push. That is why so many people like the 375 h&h because it was a push more than a slap. I was wondering if it helps with muzzle jump. Good work looks like a great product
Agree with the concept. I have a 45-70 that shoots much lighter than it ought to, even with heavier hitting loads. Very nice recoil pad too.
Pretty cool going so deep into an issue that's never been !! Good timing
This is really cool. I thought the price was going to be crazy based on the R&D and all your time. I have to say for a truly custom product I think you are competitive. Can't wait to try it out
Jim your channel is the best! ive learned so much ! Your funny and its never boring
@23:35- from the force gauge readings, assuming the graphs were force over time, you can measure the overall force exerted on the shoulder -take the integral. This will allow you to compare the dampening effect of the recoil pad. You might also get the same effect with higher durometer flexible materials other than traditional TPU. There are some really cool alternatives out there. I really enjoyed the engendering approach to this! I kept thinking you were gonna bust out a standardized jig.
I would like to see your graphs show the scaling on the X, Y; I also agree with @Hi-11109, that the Integral would be an interesting number to compare. You could also break that up and look at the integral to peak, vs the full cycle integral.
One other suggestion would be to either set your scaling higher to show the full number of your peak pressures and/or purchase the proper transducers the can measure the highest pressures.
I hope that it will be easy to change out. the last recoil pad I had installed at a greedy gun shop, the cost was $240. labor plus the cost of the recoil pad right at $320.00. If you can change the recoil pad with a screw driver your self, your product will be a home run!
60 seconds with a simple screw drive
If the gun doesn't already have a pad, the stock will need to be shortened to keep the length of pull right.
Im the first person to be a cheap george costanza deal sniffer. However, I also recognize that with government fees, from permits and land taxes, to everything else, along with the fact that you have very low repeat business for guns (who really goes to get their gun fixed up by some other guy all the time?), they have to charge more. Its the same way that small manufacturers of limited goods charge more, and you think that buying it from a big mfg who produces 10,000x the items is cheaper and not price gouging you.
If you've ever heard the saying the first battery costs 50,000 and the 1 millionth costs a few pennies, you understand how large scale operations can "hide" business operating cost from you. If you're messing with a gun shop you're in direct contact with actual economics and value, because they need to charge based on what it takes to make a tiny bit of profit while keeping their employees fed.
If you cant afford it, fine. But calling people greedy for charging for something you wont do yourself when they want to make a living just like you do is pretty tone deaf.
Awesome Pad. I love the self testing you do to ensure the product is what YOU would want to buy.
Love your channel, your real world rifle testing is the best. You have really focused on cartridges and accuracy, I guess because you live in a place where longer range shots are the norm, but terminal ballistics has been relatively unaddressed in your content. In a prior video you blamed 6.5 CM as a cartridge for an ineffective shot in Africa (I think it was your son using the Sig Cross). You were using ELD-X as I recall. I prefer big boy rifles (30-06) but the problem on that shot was not the 6.5 CM cartridge, it was the bullet.
I feel like in this day and age nobody should be using cup and core bullets. Ever. The lead in a bonded bullet is softer than a cup and core bullet and they mushroom really nicely. This leads to great energy transfer. The conclusion I have come to after recovering bullets from many thin skinned game and also watching terrific content by several guntubers (shout out to Frontline Rejects) is the following:
For low and moderate velocity cartridges:
Norma Oryx and Federal fusion if no tip needed
Tipped fusion or Accubond if tip needed
For very high velocity or tough large animals:
Swift A-frame if no tip needed
Trophy bonded tip / Terminal Ascent or Scirocco 2 if a tip is needed
Ballistic tips are for initiating expansion at low velocities or for improving velocities on long rage shots (increasing BC).
So that is my version of the truth, would love to hear other people's experience!!!
glad I became a subscriber a couple months ago. looking at getting a 7 mag at the end of next year, I'll probably be getting the recoil pad before then!
You had me so excited. I recently bought an 7prc for my wife the build is almost done. She has yet to shoot it, so i wanted to order a pad for her. Alas my hopes were dashed. Not for her Christensen arms mesa fft. I put a request in hopefully you’ll be able to deliver it soon.
I’m not a hunter and the heaviest round I shoot is a 6.5 CM, but I really like this pad and would love one for my 6.5 CM and 6 ARC precision rifles. I can only imagine how soft recoiling my 6 ARC would be with your pad. The throne is shear genius. I have never thought about vertical storage and should, considering all my guns are stored butt down on a Gallow Tech rack.
In the same boat. Have no need for one with a 6.5 CM but would love to try it with the pad haha
Just turned 60 yo, and this might be just what the doctor ordered! Have had my eye on a couple of the PRC calibers for a while, and this might be the gentle push I needed. Pardon the pun!😂
Backfire Backstop = All day fun with full auto elephant gun. Got it!
Very Cool. I am glad someone has FINALLY put some more thought and technology into making a recoil pad. As you stated it really makes no sense to have the same clump of rubber on all calibers. The one thing I did notice in your video is all your testing as far as I saw was you shooting in a prone position. The body naturally soaks up more recoil that way. Shooting from a standing position like most hunters do may make different recoil issues you havent tested yet. I am just saying! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)
Wow great job guys looks like a great approach to try and tackle the problem!
Great video, Thanks! Some time ago I saw a video with a recoil measuring device that incorporated steel rods for the gun to move back along. A great visual for comparison of recoil from different guns and cartridges!
Beautiful transitions for the cinematography
Thank you for your efforts, anything that helps recoil, helps me spend more time at the range, and that's great ..👍
i hope this takes off, in part just b/c i love to see entrepreneurial success but also because i want to see it available for many more platforms.
Sweet just talked to Jim about this product. I'm going to try to get one as soon as can up here in canada
Newer to your channel. The product looks GREAT. Your gun room looks amazing!!😊
Just placed an order for my 7prc custom build in the HNT26 stock. Cant wait
100% will be looking at adding one to my 300 PRC when I get it. Nice work!
Looks like a great product and you guys have put a lot into it. I'm looking forward to trying this out on a Texas rifle. Maybe my 300 PRC.
Looks like a great idea and design. Very cool you accomplished this product. Looking into one. Also your wife is a gem!
I use a limb saver now on most all my rifles, for sure getting one of these. Love the look!! I am putting a Horizon 22cm in a Hnt 26, being built right now, this will be a great addition.
I recently purchased a Fierce Carbon Rogue in 7PRC, I also own a Sako Finnlight in 6.5CM. They both weight 7.8lbs fully dressed, but the recoil pad and radial brake make both rifles recoil equally.
I have been to your website to submit builds for a Franchi Momentum Elite 6.5 PRC and a Winchester XPR in 7mm Remington Mag. Both with muzzle brakes installed. 😊
*Backfire* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to show us this amazing product. GOD Bless.
Thanks as always for the info and your time!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just bought one and put it on my Tikka light 3006 and it made a huge difference, that 3006 kicked a lot worse than my Howa 1500 300 Win Mag it’s a great pad well worth the money.
This makes total sense to me because I have zero issue shooting my 12 gauge pump but my 270 win I really don’t enjoy, especially from a prone position. The speed of the recoil is what bothers me, not the power.
Looks cool... BUT... you need to put units on your graph axis. How do we know the comparisons are accurate?
Or, at least put the two graphs on the same axis.
Guys are doing the lords work 🙌🏾
Great looking product! I’ll be waiting for the Remington 700 version and see what you can do for my Montana .28 Nosler. When I checked your website, price point was EXACTLY where I thought it would be - premium but not extravagant. Maybe consider an adder for custom sizes using a mold or tracer template of the rifle butt? Payton’s Aggie hat also helped the sales pitch!
the graphs are interesting, but ultimately kinda useless without having the data values on the measuring axiis. You should show these with either overlays or the data showing that they are all being shown on the same scale as its very easy to manipulate those scales to make differences appear more favorable than they actually are. Not saying that you are, just that its possible and including that data or overlay (ideally both) would take that possibility away
I was thinking the same thing. No data is usless, pretty much just a picture. Without the impulse device on the pic rail how did you he get his data? Once scope is placed on the rifle could not put the device on to get the info, ha.
Looks interesting but I've never had issues with the comfort of the factory Savage pad that came on my 116 .30-06 or the slip on LimbSaver on my .50 Beowulf. The Savage pad was included in the price of the rifle and the LimbSaver was 1/3 the price of the Backfire pad. Seems like it might be an option for those with the budget to trick out their gun and not worry about money. I wish that was me but it's not. I'd like to try one for comparison but I didn't have that kind of a budget.
Either way, I'm glad it's made in America and I wish you guys much success!!
The hard plastic on the one recoil pad isn't to prevent deformation, it is to avoid snagging and promote a smooth gun mount. Rubbery material tends to grab fabric.
Thank, you someone else cringed when Jim described the reason for the heal end of the but pad having a harder material and being rounded. If you ever shot low gun international skeet or sporting clays you grinned when he mentioned industry's "fix" for standing a gun on it's heal.
I also owned a 700 in 300 RUM in plastic factory stock with Limbsaver pad. No brake and it was pleasant to shoot off bench. Recently, I built a light 300 RUM, all carbon and Limbsaver. Brutal recoil! The stock doesn't absorb recoil😮
Great job guys!!!! Cheers from Montreal, Canada.
I love to see this. High end motorcycle helmets also use two densities of padding for the same reason.
Good job, you guys. Everything about your product just makes sense. Much more comfortable than my dad's 303 British with a buttpad made out of brass lol
I would expect the area under the curve to be roughly the same for both setups, but the new pad appears to have way less. I assume that is related to the pad conforming around the pressure sensor? Perhaps that is why you felt a 35% reduction, but the graph shows more? Great innovative product!
It's tricky to see visually the area under the curve with the graphs they are showing. Time doesn't start at the same place in each and the primary graph for back to back setup comparisons, jumps off the scale. They would need to reformat the graphs for it to pass the eye test a little easier. If they did, I bet the area under the curve would be pretty close with their setup.
Looks like a terrific product. Hopefully with can get them shipped up to Canada.
@@cragbum87 I would assume they can get shipped up here. That would be great or perhaps partner with MDT😃.
There are math formulas for recoil. Base line constant is 8 lb. I own Wicked Truth Arms. I build chassis only for any shooting sport. The US Patented design reduces felt recoil to the shoulder plus reduces muzzle jump. Wicked truth arms has a vid on RUclips shows how it works. Alot of mathematics went into the design. The rifle 300 win mag in the vid is a functioning prototype. A standard 8 lb 300 win mag with 150 gr bullets has 15.262 ft lbs of energy felt at the shoulder. The chassis is designed to reduce felt recoil by over half. Liked you video. Thanks. Also there are formulas on the internet for more specific cartridges
I'm not an expert, perhaps you meant to say 15.262 fps of recoil impulse. According to many different recoil calculators, an 8lb 300 Win Mag, with a 150 bullet and 75gr of powder for 3300fps muzzle velocity generates right at about 30ft lb. of recoil. A 300 win mag with full house loads that only generates 15ft lb of recoil would have to be 16lbs.
I just ordered. I'm running a 7mm prc on hnt26 chassis with a suppressor. I'll make a video on my channel too
Very interesting video, great topic and approach a problem that affects a lot of people.
Me personally I’ve hunted deer with 12guage and 3” magnum slugs for decades. I’m not to sensitive to recoil. But with wife and grand kids a pertinent subject.
Awesomeness.... congrats guys!
You guys have such a great channel. I really love your work. That said - the recoil charts don’t have numbers. I’m not saying you’re misleading me, but without numbers on that Y axis (ie. PSI or whatever) we don’t actually know if the peak pressure is halved as it appears. (Ie. is the backstop graph capped at 200psi vs normal pad at 50 psi.)
With the additional deflection of the new recoil pad, do you have to be even more careful to not get "scoped"?
I don't own one of the supported models, but someday may try one. Maybe you should consider having a slip on version like Limbsaver and kickeeze has for more universality. Then you don't need the cage for storage, just take it off.
Exactly what I was gona say
I've got a no name universal recoil pad and it's actually incredible. My 308 with the accubreak
shooting 175grain terminal accent feels like .223 recoil.
Thank you jim !! Gonna buy one for every rifle !!!
Really appreciate the support. I know you'll love it.
Love your channel and this looks like a great product. For transparency the before and after graphs need to at least have some values put to the y axis. The way you are sharing these they could be completely different value ranges or units making one graph look much worse than the other.
Exactly my thought. Without values, that chart doesn’t mean much to me.
Comparing the no load readings shows that they are clearly different ranges--the readings before the shot on the "standard" graph appear to be around 3-5x higher than the same period on the new recoil pad graph.
Super genius design!! Love the science.
Super exciting! Looks like a great product!
This speaks to when someone approaches a problemsolution throughly. This is brilliant. 👏🏼 Hopefully this takes off and will be available for all kinds of rifles and sizes.
Can you post these graphs with actual numbers. So we can compare better
I'll work on preparing some that we can show more detail on. The issue with showing numbers is the way the pressure sensor works. It compares two shots to each other very precisely, but it's finicky to calibrate to precise ft-lbs numbers. The scale is really just a percentage of the maximum pressure it can read, and the lines are percentages of the max output. Roughly, it's 25 ft-lbs at the top of the scale.
I love the Texas A&M cap!
Love your channel, great content and fantastic content production.
Ordered- excited to try before this years hunt!
Congrats - love the video. Greetings from South Africa
I hear marketing; “dial-it-in to the cartridge”. If that’s true, how do you compensate for rifle weight? By your own example, just adding a scope reduces recoil, so how do you dial a heavy rifle in a caliber versus a light rifle of the same caliber? Just for perspective, shotgun shooters have had custom recoil pads for decades that are tailored to reduce recoil and provide consistent accuracy at much less $cost. Precision shooters know recoil management greatly affects accuracy and the recoil pad is part of that process. I wish you well and hope you are successful just keep it real..
Scott from Kentucky Ballistics actually LOVES the recoil 😅
Please make one for the Magpul PRS stock, would be cool to be able to run these on AR-10s. I realize they don’t have a ton of recoil to begin with, but anything that makes follow up shots easier in a combat/2a scenario is a force multiplier
Literally my first thought was my .450 bushmaster I just built lol.
My Aero M5 AR-10 kicks like a mule
I use those slip on limbsavers on my PRS. They work great and honestly you barely notice it on there
@@joshuajennings2995 I fear when you say "kicks like a mule" it does not mean what you think it means :)
Can’t wait for a pad made for manners composite stocks. Specifically the LRH. I need it 😎
The more I watch your channel the more I really like the content you’re making! Keep it up!
The real question is if it’s worth putting one of those on a 6.5 creedmoor…?
That’s cool. I have put limbs saver on my teas but I hate how grippy it is when you’re in a tree stand and you’ve got a thick jacket it’s just grips. You have to pull the gun way out and then pull it back. You just can’t lift it up normally
Seems like an interesting product. I dig ingenuity and solutions brought about by a challenge. I'll be keeping a close eye on what users say about it. Very cool. 👍
The VSO Gun Channel did a test on a jig to compare Silencer recoil reduction. Silencers reduce recoil more than just the weight.
That recoil pad on the HNT is garbage. I went thru the same journey with a 7SS bare muzzle. Added a modified limbsaver and a brake, then a suppressor, and topped it all of with a baby ATACR. Much more pleasant to shoot. I believe you are the first to bring a dedicated pad to the MDT shape buttstock and it should fit everything from the XRS to the ACC. I've been emailing limbsaver to make one, but you beat the big guys to the punch. Well done!
