Set 2 - 05 Cody Jinks - Mama's Song
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- Cody Jinks, Courtney Patton, and Deryl Dodd got together on Luckenbach's outdoor stage, this sunny Sunday afternoon for a "Song Swap".I had never attended one of these types of performances, but let me tell you, November 2nd, 2014 was a day to remember! The humorous interaction between the performers on stage, and the audience was perfect. Great singing and guitar playing, by all 3. I already love everything Cody does, but found 2 other GREAT musicians on this outing. Only thing missing this day was Courtney's husband Mr, Jason Eady!
This song is Cody's "Momma's Song" with a special guest back up vocals by one of the resident roosters at Luckenbach's. I absolutely love this venue. I you have never visited, I highly recommend you put it on your bucket list!

my son passed a year ago right before he passed he seen Cody jinks in concert and when they started playing this song he called me and sang the song to me I played it at his funeral I listen to this song almost every day cause the one thing I always tried to show and prove to my baby that I will always be there and I guess he knew thank u Cody jinks for this awesome song my son loved your music
April Staal thank you. I’m struggling with my 27 yr old son who is a musician and I cannot even get him to sing this song or anything for me but he played spurs halftime show championship game ...he’s bad on drugs and is just not himself. It is scary and the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. For now he is alive but my best friend his same age died 4 years ago in heroin which is what my son is on. He’s stealing things from me and others to pawn. I just scared. But at least he is sitting in my living room right now alive. He’s homeless but I keep letting him come home because I love him and it’s freezing cold outside. He’s alive though and you make me appreciate that
@@rhondamccardle16 hopefully he will get help soon. My heart goes out to you both
Rhonda McCardle get him help ❤️
Rhonda McCardle my mom has showed me countless times that there is nothing and I mean NOTHING like a mother’s love. My brother has been on and off meth since I can remember and would pawn things, start fights with my mom and treat her like shit but she took him in. Some say she’s just an enabler to the things he does but she always told me “nothing could ever stop me from loving and being there for my sons” and I will ALWAYS love and appreciate her for being who she is. You’re a great mom, I couldn’t imagine how hard it is for you or my own mom but mother’s like you two are truly angels sent from heaven. I wish you the best and I will pray your son gets better.
Well ain't you just hope in a can.
God bless you and god bless your family
❤
Single mother tribute to the highest degree 🙌🏽👍🏼
The more I listen to Cody, the more I get it. This guy has some amazing variations in songs and the stories he tells are relatable. We need to beat this Covid BS so we can have our live music back. Respect from Germany.
All of his songs touch my heart! I’ve seen him twice and he is absolutely my favorite singer. He is amazing
Its a shame he isn't recognized more . This boy put Brantley Gilbert n ga fl line to Shane . Thanks for not selling out to the mainstream brother . This is the best song I've heard in many years
johnny noone you know what's really a shame about Brantley Gilbert? He sold out... just a damn shame
Much respect for this man. Seen him once with Whitey Morgan. Excellent show. Never heard of him or Whitey. Whitey opened for Bob Seger, then follow Whitey and Cody opened for them. Fantastic how other than the people who can't handle there booze. thats a given. HAHA
I am perfectly fine with him where he is . Some things are better left alone . Country radio (POP) doesn’t need him . He is tooo country for country radio and it is a shame . He (CodyJinks) made me stop listening to pop country radio. I like where he is and he should stay there . He does need to be more recognized but not on the current status of today’s radio
👍 great
I know your late night talks with Jesus have helped me on my way, I know it wasn't always easy raising my father son!!!! So much truth in that. Best lyrics I've ever heard. Keep it up Cody Jinks amazing!

1:47 - The rooster dropped a shout out!
ppl that give thump down must just like hiphop country this real pure country
I got a half a six pack of Old Milwaukee
And a half a bag of weed
I can't do it like I did when I was a kid
This is all I'm going to need
Because I know you always worry about me drinking my dinner
But I don't do that anymore
I got me a sweet girl at home
She's keeping food on the table
Every night she keeps me warm
So I've got me this piece of paper
And I got my favorite pen
I know it's been a little while
And talking's not my style
So I just had to write my friend
[Chorus]
Hey I'm doing alright mamma
I'm ok, I know your late night talks with Jesus
Have helped me on my way
I know it wasn't always easy
Raising my father's son
And your son will be alright
If the shows keep coming
This old guitar and me are still strumming
I know you always knew I always took it way too far
But I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing alright now mamma
I'm doing ok
You remember the time I was stuck in L.A.?
And I didn't have a job
And I didn't have a way to pay the bills that I racked up
Yeah, you kept me from losing my truck
Yeah, I'm a little better off now
Than I was then
But it's sure nice to see you calling me when
I'm out there on the road
Yeah, you calling to say "have a good show"
Cody Jinks keep it up i listen to you everyday
Can’t get thru even the 1st verse with crying. . Amazing Man, and Artist 🙏🏼❤️
loved the rooster sounding in & the chickens running around! Pure country!

My mama still don't understand that I always take things way too far. I'm a 53 year old with ADHD, everything is always way too far. I love this song because my mama has worn her knees out praying for me. Thanks Cody for writing a song that makes a man get tears in his eyes thinking about his mama and how she's saved his ass. Keep on cranking out those tunes bro.

Cody Jinks ...... too close to the heart HomeBoy .... blessings & respect ✊
I love the chicken at minute 2:00
I played this song for my mothers memorial before I read the remembrances of our life. This song fit so well and I couldn't even get through the first 3 sentences without every single person including myself absolutely losing it. By the time I was done reading it I looked up and had no idea that everyone had surrounded me and as soon as I read the final sentence I was met with such a beautiful circle of absolute love, they all lunged in and held me as I broke. Thank you Cody, this is one of my dearest songs. I will play this until the day God takes me on my way.
I can relate man! This is my favorite Cody song too. Special for reasons beyond the obvious. I was at a Cody show in Corpus and it happened to be the 22nd anniversary of my mothers passing (I did not realize it, until I was editing the video) but he dedicated it to me and my mama by name!!! Check this out... ruclips.net/video/mXUS5QTcDrg/видео.html
Wow man, genuine Texas gentleman got to love it man. I've learned to sing and play it myself. I love this man, to the fullest extent that a straight man can.
"As she watches from above" It's an amazing song. That's real life.

REAL country!
To my momma in Heaven
This helped me realize that music isn't about your gear, it's about music. This sounds incredibly obvious but we musicians get caught up in the gear a lot...
Lost my mother this past weekend, pretty tough . The one person that was there when I hit rock bottom, when I was hungry . When I needed a place to stay or talk to. Tomorrow isn't promised so show them today that you love them.
My son also said that this song was from him to me. U can't always say what you really feels so when it's been a bit I always hunt this song up and listen to it. If no one gets anything from this site I just know Cody thought of his mother and realized how she missed him. Good job Cody.
Awesome..

I’m surprised no one has commented on the correlation between the rooster crowing and his singing. Dominance, my people.
