When my mim left my dad though, she finally let me trick or treat and I went as a generic wizard. I think it was a sign.
I watched all the movies with my brother and SIL in 2016. Then I DECOURED the books. My SIL said thaf GoF was SOOO much better in the book (she's right).
I am a proud Hufflepuff that has PoA and GoF as her favorite books and PoA,SS, and OotP as her favorite movies.

I'm finally able to sit down and comment on this video! Took a few days to gather my thoughts. First , let me tell you that you are SO creative! You took my idea and made it completely your own LOVE that. Second, I loved every second of this video! I could talk about how much Harry Potter means to me for a while. Like you, it shaped me into the person I am today. I was six years old when I read the first book. Growing up physically disabled I was bullied a lot and didn't feel like I belonged anywhere. Hogwarts truely felt like HOME and it is my go to series (books and movies alike) whenever I'm feeling sad or happy. I learned that it was okay to be different. I didn't finish reading the series until I was a teenager in middle school. I am now 25 years old and I still read them once a year.

Also I liked It Ends With Us, I feel like it was the perfect representation of how a relationship can progress into an abusive relationship without realizing and then all the complications that go with it. The thing I didn’t like is that this book is marketed as a romance and the back of the book makes it seem like a rom com love triangle when that’s clearly not what it is.

I so wish I had been into HP when it was first coming out because I was 11. So I would’ve grown up with the characters. By the time I got into it the last book was releasing. So at least I got to marathon them.
But my favorite character is Ron, and I got his wand at the Warner Bros London Studios, which was amazing. I hope to make it to Universal at some point when my daughter is older. And I really hope she loves HP as much as I do.

On the one hand, I wish you had experienced the vibe around HP when it was releasing, but on the other hand, I'm SO jealous that you didn't have to wait a year or two between books because it was honestly TORTURE! 😯😯
The Weasleys honestly are absolutely iconic, but Ron is such a gem 💎 My favorite is Molly Weasley 💪🏼 We will be in London sometime in the next two-ish years & one of the things that I told my husband was a MUST for me is the Warner Bros Studio tour!

My dad, my hubby, & my boys are my world 🌎 I “enjoyed” It Ends With Us too! I thought it portrayed a very tough situation that a lot of victims are in in a very realistic way - the good, the bad, & the ugly. Omg you have to read Gild & One Dark Window! They are both EXCELLENT! 😍

@@sheisbookedandbusy That sounds like a lot of work but maybe one theme a year would be a fantastic compromise. So this year is Harry Potter and next summer introduce whichever franchise currently makes you happy. It would make us happy too.
I agree with spacing out the themes, especially since there's still sooo many HP prompts on the wheel for us to get!
1st, I loved EVERYTHING about this video! I am also a huge potter head and have memories of going with my parents to get each book when it was released. I think this needs to be a permanent “special” wheel in your monthly TBR videos! 😜. Also, now I really want to drop everything and make my own HP prompt wheel! 😂😂😂
2nd, I absolutely LOVE It Ends With Us and actually cried while reading that book! I one million percent agree with everything you said and also do not in any way feel like Colleen Hoover was glorifying DV in this book. I felt like it was super raw, realistic, and heart wrenching, especially after reading the author’s note and learning that Colleen Hoover wrote from the perspective of witnessing her own mother experience DV.
Omg there was truly nothing like a HP midnight release! Honestly some of my favorite childhood memories that spanned a decade! I love the idea of making it a wedge on my tbr wheel! BUUUUUUUT would it be better in the tbr monthly or just as a monthly reading vlog!? I'm thinking I can change the wheel every so often to a different theme - think Disney, Gilmore Girls, etc??

Harry potter shaped my life too i grew up with the books and the movies every time a movie would come out my mom took us to see them and when the books came out because she worked for walmart she got a chance to get a copy first the memories i got from these books make me miss my mom even more 😢 shes the reason i got into reading

I definitely do not think it’s overreacting or sappy to have a book/book series affect your life in such a big way 💕. Growing up I didn’t really enjoy reading, because I had reading deficiencies but I remember my grandfather reading to me out of this book of fairy tales and always encouraging me to read along the best I could. Those moments reading with him will always be with me and eventually helped developed my love for reading. I think it’s beautiful that you were able to create such life-changing moments over a book series 🥹😊. P. S I love Harry Potter and loved the video. Also fellow Ravenclaw 💙

Do it as a wedge, as you have specific prompts for the characters. Start the other videos; you can always incorporate them into your TBR game. Also, every quarter, you can play a specific video for a week.

Harry Potter means a lot to me too. I lost my brother 14 years ago. Harry Potter was our thing. I took him to see all the movies. He wasn’t a reader. He never got to see the last 2 movies. I did get to tell him how it ended before he passed. He also had a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. I always had the glasses. The world of Harry Potter has always been so much more than a book for me.

Harry Potter was also a huge part of my childhood and I also did midnight screenings with my family. My sweet amazing parents bought 2 separate books because they knew my sister and I would fight over the book of the if they didn’t get two! Your story about your dad made me sob because that is so sweet

You got me at the beginning. My first copy of my Harry Potter book I don't usually read because my grandma written inside with the date and I was 13 when I started reading this series. I went to Universal with my daughter when we went to Disney World for the first time and had a great time.

i fell in love with the book when it first came out my mum got it for me too and still got the original means alot to me also the films came out around my birthday in Nov so my present was going to see them.

I will have to check out One Dark Window, series on my list to check out, and I haven't read a Colleen Hoover book so I have been curious to check her writing out but I do know I will not be able to read It Ends With Us because of past history but it does sound interesting. Happy reading! 🪄
You really should check out One Dark Window! Very unique & complicated plot but in a very accessible way! Ehh Colleen Hoover is hit or miss for me...Verity was pretty good, but is her mystery type book.

I was never big in to Harry Potter I was in to manga series called Negima also about a 10 year old wizard and dean Koontz Frankenstein. Where my big thing though my bro is a big Harry Potter fan though. I need to look in to seeing about getting some more of the movies . Has the Christmas special had a physical reales ?

For manga that has possession that isn’t scary look for the Shaman King series. It’s an about a tournament and the hero’s and villains fight with Goshts . But usually the gosht are friends like yoh the main hero has friend who is a samurai gosht . And there is British character who has a fairy as gosht partner . Sorry but since you asked for a non scary book series with the evolving possession, shaman king is the only one I know
The anime is different from the manga .

How about we respect other people’s differing opinions on politics instead of getting all emotional because you disagree on things. I don’t care about politics I’ve never voted in my life and I don’t care who her family supports, and it’s really embarrassing that grown men and women act like children at the sight of a hat
Might be bold for you, but definitely not bold for me ☺️ Different views are what makes the world go round! Politics are never a way to ruffle my feathers, I have best friends from alllllll views. We just respect & love each other through all seasons of life without having to agree 🩷 & if you're question is what house our former president would be sorted in - I love that question! After his admirably strong response to our traumatizing attempt 18 days ago, I'd go Gryffindor 🦁
@Magdalena287, I love this response! That's my opinion on things too! Differing views are what created this country from the very beginning & I love that! I match respect levels so as long as conversations stay nice, I love engaging 💌 (in my personal life, but not here, which is a safe place for all to talk about books & reading!)

Harry Potter means a lot to me too. I lost my brother 14 years ago. Harry Potter was our thing. I took him to see all the movies. He wasn’t a reader. He never got to see the last 2 movies. I did get to tell him how it ended before he passed. He also had a lightning bolt scar on his forehead. I always had the glasses. The world of Harry Potter has always been so much more than a book for me.
