I am still learning about my SR after a year, so this is quite helpful: so was your vid on the U-Connect 5. Some small but annoying things I find between the WK and the WL(I have both) was the unnecessary need to reverse the stalks. It should have been kept on the same side as the previous edition, because in a quick reaction scenario, I will sometimes revert to WK muscle memory. Also the open/close switch for the cargo door. On the WK, it’s easy location , co-located in the handle, was wonderful, now I have to , hunt for same switch to the right of letter “P”. However, I am similarly, impressed with this vast array of tech in this new ride. That McIntosh is a beast. love the ability, to now, independently unlock the rear doors from the outside. I use that feature a lot. I actually like the front end on the WK slightly better than the WL, but do like the side and rear lines better on the WL, considering, I am a hugh fan of large taillights. These honeycomb styled rims and 21” tires, really sets this thing off. I did like your vid on the overall WL except for annoyingly, imo, saying “amazing” way too many times. Lol. Nice info. Thanks.

Ah the subtle differences between models. I didn't even catch that, so thanks for pointing it out! Haha yeah I have a tendency to use filler words sometimes. The ones in my early videos were pretty annoying

It's done through the infotainment screen. I cover that off in this video --> ruclips.net/video/jNzV_oTFdDM/видео.html
I believe it's somewhere in the 26-30 min mark

Great info. Watched all the videos but didn't see how to use the paddle shifters that you mentioned was in one of the links. Can't find anything in the manuals for my Overland either.

Thanks! I just updated the description with the video link but you can check it out here --> ruclips.net/video/YYaagDisqso/видео.html
It's done on the Mustang but the same principles apply in the Grand Cherokee. Only other thing I'd point out is that if you go into paddle shift mode you can press and hold the right paddle to turn it off and get back to the regular drive mode

What did you do to it?! Does your cluster look anything like any of the screens that are shown in this video? Time stamp what it looks like by doing xx:xx for the min/second or jump onto facebook/Instagram and send me a screenshot

@CarsWithSteve Steve thank you. It came back by itself when I cranked her up to go out later in the day. When I'm thumbing occasionally with the left wheel controls I can't seem to find the speedometer when I'm done looking at other instruments/ data. I go Left, right, up down and the extreme right button on the left side wheel buttons. Nothing gets it back..
It won't come back on a simple restart but it does come back if I come back a few hours later to go out. It's so wierd and really frustrating..

So weird how these things happen... and can never be recreated when you want to show people. If you press the button on the steering wheel with the 3 boxes on it that should take you back to a default view

I own a 2022 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. I hate that every time you make a change in many parameters, like select-terrain, cruise control, etc., the speedometer and odometer shrink to illegibly small sizes and then they stay that way for several seconds. Why? It’s incredibly distracting.
Also, it’s irritating, and potentially dangerous, to have so many required functions controlled by touch buttons (with no haptic feedback) in the center U-connect multimedia screen. Making changes from that screen requires taking your eyes off of the road, just begging for a catastrophe. Also, climate control settings and defrost controls sit below the large temperature-adjusting toggle switches on the faceplate below the multimedia display. Those ridiculously large, cantilevered toggles completely obscure from the driver’s view the push buttons that control defrosters, A/C, and air vent selection. You need to actually hunch down in your seat for these buttons to be visible, again requiring the driver to take their eyes off the road. Absolutely idiotic. Hard to believe Jeep actually employs someone to oversee ergonomics.

Wonder if the shrinkage is from a bug that no one has brought to their attention. It could be worth it to reach out to corporate to let them know.. If they don't get feedback from owners they'll have no idea what people do and don't like..
Most of the features modern cars can be controlled using the voice assistant. The uConnect 5 system lets you change radio stations, navigate, change climate and fan speed and a lot more using your voice. It takes a bit of getting used to but once you do it's way more useful than reaching over to adjust it manually

@ Hey Steve. Thanks for the reply. Interesting you mention contacting Jeep. In fact, I emailed Jeep about these very issues and a representative actually called me. I reiterated my concerns. She noted, as do you, that a lot of the features can be controlled with voice commands. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a complete guide to the available commands, so I end up having to "guess" what the magic words are to, say, turn on the rear defroster or redirect air from upper to lower vents, etc.

Ah the typical corporate response.. Hopefully they actually take people's concerns into account on redesigns. I never thought of doing a video on voice commands but I'll start brainstorming on how I'd do it and what to include

How do i fold my side mirrors??

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  4 месяца назад +2

If you have power folding sideview mirrors there will be a little button on your driver's side door just underneath the rocker you'd use to adjust the mirrors

@@CarsWithSteve thanks. I had the previous model (2019) limited, and it had the folding button, but not on the new one!. This new one is full of amazing tech stuff, but they've removed some features that i was a custom to, like this one 😅
