The problem is, many people actually do judge people here in my place, when someone overweight or underweight walks into the gym minding their own business, working on themselves, these assholes actually laugh at their struggle, whether they're unable to execute some move or not strong enough yet to lift weight they consider easy and that sucks so bad, it happened to me before, they laughed right in front of my face clearly in broad daylight, there ain't no denying or justifying
Yes, true. Just big and strong people like Nimai don't ever have to struggle with that and as we know, people who don't know the struggle often don't see the struggle in others.
@@ziharkeus7814 if they were emotionally secure within themselves, they wouldn't need to laugh at you to try and feel better about themselves. Says more about them than it does you. Don't take it personally. 💖
@@Redhotquagmire Yeah true. Still amplifies my insecurities though. I'm lean and have a good physique, when I cut long enough I can get a sixpack etc. So all good there. But my chest, arm and shoulder genetics just aren't it, pretty slim in those areas. So that's what people go for, usually arms. So yeah you are right, probably just insecure themselves. Thanks for the positivity ✌🏻
I’ve been going to the gym for a few years now and I still get gym anxiety but not about my body. Its more fear about it being to crowded Not being able to do my planned workout because it’s unavailable or to many people. If I have a plan and have goals I like to excute it if I’m not able to because it’s not available I feel like It wasn’t a good session and I missed out
My gym anxiety is terrible. I compare myself with all the women who are more fit than me, have a bigger butt and can lift heavy weights. I just feel so insecure around that.
This is the probably highest impact mistake bcuz you have to compare only with yourself. Then you can start make truly progress with yourself. Trust me, if you can change this mindset, you will be on another level. I know there is insanely amount of profile, peoples which looks better...i am skinny guy, my journey was on 50 kg as vegan guy, ectomorph....i make progress to 70 Kg just by myself. Only with vegan foods. But i compare only with my past self. Its help me a lot...was huge aspect bcuz if you want compare vs others...they may have journey of 5, 10 years..and you want just start...its nonsense right...
Nah I’d been going to the gym for 5 years before I got injured, now that I’ve been out for a year I feel so much anxiety going back 😢 It feels like I’m starting from scratch all over again…

I’m going to the gym for the first time ever tonight with my partner and I’m absolutely terrified. I’ve always worked out at home before but then I had a terrible accident leaving me with a disability in my leg, getting with my partner around 6 months after. I’m still in recovery but feeling ready about working on my body again. And my partner has been wanting to join a gym for months, hates working out at home, and needs a companion for that motivation. I decided I’d join him in a membership but now that we’ve set a time to go, I am MORTIFIED. I know having my partner there will help but I’m still scared of the unknown, having to possibly explain to someone who asks why I’m working out differently to others, being judged, etc. What the heck do I do??
I did all of these things but it didn't change after 3 years. Still being judged and even made fun of. Recently someone came up to me and said: "What's up, did you not eat enough meat these days?" I am disciplined and dedicated with my workouts, I program everything myself, from rep ranges to weights and RPEs which I all learned from my coach. I make progress, but way too slowly. My best mass phases with 4000-45000kcals a day and 200g of Protein a day at 80-88kg took 4-6 months. They left me looking a bit filled up and with higher body fat, yet the muscle growth, despite very good form, a good program, and dedicated gym going, 4-5 times a week, was minimal. It's just torture. I even considered eating animal products again, betraying my moral code tor better gains, because there are always people who will tell you you need the better amino acid profile of animal proteins... but someone like you for some reason doesn't. Looks like my upper body genetics are just trash. But them again there are people who tell me: "Try animal protein, maybe your individual body can process them better." Etc etc. So yeah, gym is a source of constant stress, pressure and anxiety for me 🤷🏻♂️
@@ziharkeus7814 Dude, please don’t go back to funding animal abuse. There must be a reason why you’re not achieving the gains you’re wanting, and therefore a solution. Have you tried reaching out to Nimai directly - or any of the other many many successful vegan bodybuilders - for advice or coaching?
@@ziharkeus7814 It's mostly your choice, but a vegan only diet is particularly difficult to build muscle. You also need to account for vitamin deficiency. Which means you may need to take blood work and see what works and what doesn't. Some dudes who are vegan bodybuilders I would presume are legit. Just takes a lot of research and trial and error. Easiest way to bulk is chicken and ground turkey. If you are worried about abuse most chicken or ground turkey that are farm raised are killed quickly and prepared to be sent out.
Nimai, I saw you list the supplements you use, and there was creatine among them. As far as I know, creatine is mainly synthesized from meat, but there are also vegan variants on the Internet, although the description does not indicate where they synthesize it from, which is why the "vegativeness" of these additives can be questioned. How do you distinguish whether this or that creatine is really vegan or not?

Mediterranean diet or a diet with few clean animal proteins like chicken or ground turkey.
