Bisto - The good old days of actually sitting at a table to eat with your family, and no TV on in the background, just pleasant conversation whilst eating. I miss those days, and especially the 1980s. Even when I was older and had long left home, I still loved sitting at the kitchen table with my Mum with a plate of food, chatting about local news/or anything going on in the world - my Mum used to say, as she dished the food onto the plates and brought it to the table :-“Let’s have a bite to eat.” RIP Mum, I miss you and Dad.
I vaguely remember a bread advert where a farmer's wife's loaf of bread broke the table when it was put on the table. Another series featured a cartoon dragon advertising snaps crisps which were like quavers of today. I would be great to see the bread adverts.😃
One of the Snaps adverts with the dragon is on one of the other compilations. Sweets & Snacks (Vol.8) - ruclips.net/video/9uK8Ks6awes/видео.htmlsi=KB5n3MOiRPonY6C8&t=148
Ahahahaha, that ending! You just unlocked a memory of McCain Southern Fries,, loved them. Also, the Cornish wafer advert reminded me of the country life butter one and those 2 products go well together. 😋
I loved the Menu Master ads as young child in the mid -late 1980s Remember. I remember having Menu Master Beef Stew and Dumplings at my late nanas not in the early /mid 1990s when I a stayed with her on exeat weekends from a vegetarian boarding school in the early 1990s. My parents only ever used Blue Band or original Flora both of which came under sunflower spreads.
@9:37 I couldn't resist back-calculating the 112hours 10 minutes from 9, to arrive at that job offer taking place at 4:50 on a day that is five days earlier than their mutually agreed start date. Someone working on that advert's script must have actually figured that out to make sure it worked.
Yes definitely. Funnily enough, he's getting a mention in the Top 10 Advert Catchphrases video I'm working on for my second channel. I literally just edited that part today!
@@OhioticketswithRobert Awesome! Thanks. I need all the subs I can get for that one. The top 10 video will be out this weekend. The edit is all but complete.
Ya know, usually, I'd say that the US holds the "record" for advertising that convinces people to eat things that are not technically food, but I think only the British could successfully market and sell a byproduct/waste product of beer production as if it were a food.
That explains why it tastes so BAD !! (I'm in the 'hate it' camp for marmite, although I love Twiglets which is weird as they're supposed to be made of the same stuff.)
@@jwb52z9 Pretzels are lush too, but definitely different from Twiglets. I think the inner dried bread-ish part is the same, but Twiglets are coated with a brown, sticky, yeasty substance, apparently similar to Marmite.
Please can you help me, I’m looking for an old Polo mint advert. There’s a guy in the desert crawling through the sand muttering “water, water” and then gets splashed with water. He then says “Polo, Polo.” ?

Lovely memories. 🤗
That Mr Kipling fella can't half be busy with his oven ..😂
A lot bigger back then not the rubbish they sell today!
Going 24/7 he was. 😂
And a packet of French Fancies is about 3 quid now!
@@mgthestrange9098 everything gone mad price wise
Helped out by his fancy piece Aunt Bessy no doubt 😉
The irony that we're watching adverts on RUclips from the good old days, and all the adverts are promoting products from their good old days :D
Adverts. Interrupting the .. adverts. 😐
Larry is everywhere.
(Note I enjoy your RUclips channel)
That's not irony, everything was just better then.
Wonderful ads a great era
Bring back findus french bread pizza! Love them especially the chilli beef 1 😊
Aldi do rip off one's though, sadly no chilli beef flavour :(
Top quality adverts lol. I remember the vast majority of them well.
Seeing Mighty White bread brought back memories of many a School Packed Lunch!

Any ideas on the farmer's wife and the heavy bread?@@RetroSteveUK
@@elainebeckford99 It rings a bell, but no solid memory of it I'm afraid.
You've done it again Steve, a fantastic compilation, I started feeling hungry watching them! Thank you.👍🏻
Those cherries in the Mr Kipling Bakewells got my mouth watering! 🤤🍒
Being right next to the river, the Wogans' house must have been very prone to mould and flooding.
Yeah, but I but they were easily able to afford to move.
You'll never become an estate agent with that attitude

I always used to love spreading butter on a digestive biscuit. Sounds gross, but seriously .. just try it. 🍪🤤
@@RetroSteveUK yes, lovely, nice with cheese or Philidelphia too.

Surely Terry Wogan had a bigger kitchen table than that 😂
The whole thing might have been a setup.
great collection
Don't remember half of these but adverts tended to be regional back then .
Ok that's weird, I've just bought some Cornish Wafers this morning - haven't had them for yonks.
Doo doo doo doo 🎶
(aka Twilight Zone)
I wish it were still possible to buy findus crispy pancakes in the curry mince flavour.
Thanks mate❤❤❤❤❤
THE ONE WITH THE RED SHIRT IN TEFAL AD LOOKS LIKE ANT MCPARTLIN WITH THE HIGH FOREHEAD
HAHA! I was thinking megamind.😂

Always look forward to Fridays some nostalgia from Steve but bit worrying when you think Bernard Matthews looks well - he seemed ancient back then 😂
Is he still kicking about?
Afraid not Steve - 2010 apparently.
@@danbrown7562 🪦😢
His funeral was a bootiful service though.
Some great old products there, we had one of those delonghi fryers.

I'll give you that! I also love watching this shit! 🤣
I remember Mighty White bread. It tasted rather nice.
cool love from cornwall uk
Rumour has it Loyd Grossman started his own line of Pasta sauce so he didn’t have to appear in any more adverts!
0:48 is that Jon Pertwee doing the Bisto advert?
I think you might be right.
What happened to that mighty white bread.
I remember asking my mum to buy that bread after I'd seen the advert. It was pretty darn tasty.
I don't remember seeing it in recent years, but I found this undated article which may or may not be current: dgi.co.uk/our-work/mighty-white/

Yeah, and the same logo too, it seems.
Not so much Findus as find us.

Bernard Matthews didn’t say ‘bootiful’. Very disappointing
