Ashleigh Gentle, Max Neumann: The Aussie Way | Countdown to PTO Asian Open 🇸🇬

  • Ashleigh Gentle and Max Neumann are returning triathlon glory to Australia.
    In the 1990s and 2000s Australia dominated triathlon with the likes of Michelle Jones, Emma Snowshill, Emma Carney, Mirinda Carfrae, Chris McCormack, Peter Robertson and Craig Alexander. However, Australia has now gone 7 years without a world champion.
    Ashleigh Gentle dominated the inaugural PTO Tour in 2022 winning the Canadian Open and US Open, as well as winning her match at the Collins Cup. 2023 has proven a little tougher having landed back to back second place finishes and she now as to step it up in Singapore to prove she's still the 'Queen of the 100k'.
    Meanwhile, Max Neumann burst onto the scene twice in the past year, having dominated long distance triathlon in Australia. He placed fourth at the ironman World Championships in Kona before causing somewhat of an upset against three Olympic champions at the 2023 European Open in Ibiza.
    This is the Aussie way and when it's working there's very little you can do to stop it.
    Watch the PTO Asian Open on August 19-20th.

    Max is such an absolute ledge. Barebones type of a dude. I love it. Simple stuff. Train hard race to win. No socials. No lactate testing. Just a weapon triathlete. 🔥🔥🔥

    I was at Milwaukee last weekend. The PTO races were great to watch, incredible races. Watching the best compete. Against each other makes everyone bring their A game. I’ve been watching triathlon since 2020 and following the athletes through their RUclips channels. It was awesome to see most of them in one place. I hope the PTO keeps it up.

    I’m no triathlete (just a fan) but am I the only one who is getting a little tired of the ‘Norwegians can’t be beaten’ story line. Jan and Max have done that In emphatic fashion. It’s pretty clear that they are well and truly beatable. Am I on my own here?!

    yes the norwegians are good, they won many races and titles and I am a huge fan of gustav BUT can we please stop asking the question if they can be beaten every time for each race? Take a look at the last races the answer is quite obvious I'd say. YES they can be beaten and we already saw it at Super League races, PTO USA Open, WTC races. They are insanely good BUT there's Max, Magnus, Jan, Sam and so many other pro athletes who race insanely well and also win races. So yes, they can be beaten and there's no question about it. It's getting really annoying for me to here all of the journalists talk about the same thing over and over again. ALSO...they aim to win olympics but lets not forget there's a hayden, vincent, leo, alex and many more who are at the top of their games. So how about talking about all the athletes who already have beaten them and investigate on how they didi it?

    Video content is good, but the commentary?? Really? Anne Haug is amazing no doubt, but not even a mention of Taylor Knibb? She kicked AG’s ass in Milwaukee and doesn’t get a mention. How about Jason West? Ran through the damn field and not a whisper. Seems like this channel often has disdain for American athletes.

    • @WittyTzipporah

      I'm guessing a lot of this video was put together before Milwaukee even happened, and certainly the interviews were...they didn't know what was going to be relevant.

    • @denitsakoeva9242
      @denitsakoeva9242 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@WittyTzipporah maybe as well based on who enlisted for which race and Taylor was not going to be in the Asian Open. And you are right, these productions do take time. They had the time to do all the footage around Max Neumann because PTO European Open was down in May while US open was just last week.

    • @cursedrr8647
      @cursedrr8647 11 месяцев назад

      Is TK racing this one? She doesnt fly much.

    • @denitsakoeva9242
      @denitsakoeva9242 11 месяцев назад

      @cursedrr8647 she is not racing the PTO Asian Open. She has the Paris test event this week and perhaps she is then going to Lahti, Finland for the 70.3 Worlds. Not sure about that but makes sense since she is going to be in Europe anyway.

    • @nickongaro7069
      @nickongaro7069 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah I may have jumped the gun a bit on the criticism. I really do love these productions. They are great for exposure in to the sport. TK is not on the start list, but JW is. It still doesn’t change my mind that the American athletes get snubbed a ton by these big triathlon production companies, though. TK and JW are absolute monsters in middle distance racing and should be recognized as such

    It seems like heavy weight and powerful athlets can't have a chance against lightweight and more economical fuction athletes. At the end of a long race gravity force plays a big roll.
